Well what can I say about the place. I have been back from holiday for 3 weeks I loved the holiday.

The resort was great for someone in a wheelchair the animation team really made my holiday. They were all so enthusiastic about their jobs. Plenty of activities going on in the day for everyone & the same in the evening. The animation team got me involved with most of the activities cannot say how much I enjoyed it. I am thinking of moving out to Lanzarote to live & work, would love to be in the animation team.

The area around the resort was all ok for wheelchairs I could get into every shop I wanted to. Cannot wait to I go back to live or for a new holiday. All in all I have nothing to complain about

We stayed above the small snack bar by the quiet pool and found many ants, it was due to all the drinks and food underneath.

We stayed in block 3 and the room was very nice but had a small problem with the cleanliness, other wise the room was nice. There was a dead cockroach in corridor floor and it stayed there for about 5 days.

If you have small children ask to stay on the ground floor because the stairs are extremely slippy and my sister fell down the stairs as well as another small girl that we went with.

The pool was cold and sometimes dirty but was good for children.

The location was brilliant as you could cross the road and there was a many shops bars and restaurants and a lovely beach.

The hotel staff were nice apart from some of the all inclusive staff because we wasn't paying they were ignored.

The people at the hotel are lovely and there was some absolutely brilliant shows including Grease, Dirty Dancing, and hypnotising.

We arrived early evening and were given keys to apartment, it took us 30 mins to find it as it was getting dark. staff were unhelpful.

The floor was dirty, there was a smell of drains coming from the toilet. This was reported twice during our stay and the staff resolved it by leaving a can of air freshner!!!

We were unable to leave the doors or windows open at night due to cockroaches. There were many dead ones found under the beds and on the balcony in the mornings.

The pools were reasonably clean but often litter had blown in. The heat in the club house unabled us to stay there for very long.

The entertainment was poor, repeating almost the same each night.

We arrived thursday the 1st july about 10pm. after specifically requesting new block, high floor, we were given the old block which when we got there was dirty and smelly and not up to 3* standard at all! All the old block rooms are dirty and dingy and smell terrible the light fittings are hung from the opposite walls and are easy for children to hang from as the wire hangs just above your head. Wall fittings come away from the walls and all rooms are carpeted!!!!!!! Not hygienic in a country that hot and especially as the balconys are riddled with ants.

The complex itself was very well maintained but it seemed the money spent on the hotel was only making a difference to the all inclusive eating area and a tree which was being put in reception!

When we confronted reception staff about the bad state of our rooms they just argued that not everyone has the same standard and the room we had were fine. We sat in reception until a member of our party had to take keys from the receptionist who is very ignorant and abrupt and try as many rooms as she could until she found a new room that was decent.

The first key she was given led her to walking in on a half-dressed holiday maker who was already occupying the room!!!!

After we were told only the old block was available, mysteriously after this mishap we were given a key to a room in block 2!!(make sense)the room was 100% better than the first but still not a 3* standard. Still carpeted and light fittings hanging but liveable.

There are very big house cats in the hotel and they will come into your rooms if patio doors are left open so with no air con the rooms were un sleepable!

The hotel is in an ideal spot about five minutes from beach and local bars and restraunts. We ate at legends every night which sold good English food at really good prices.

The staff at this hotel need to be taught customer service and the rooms need to be refurbished.

Why should a family stay in a first choice families hotel that has light fixtures hanging off the walls????

We arrived at the los zocos on thursday july 1st 2004. When we got outside it looked really nice We got to reception and was allocated our rooms. We were given a map to where our rooms were and it took us ten minutes to find it.

On arrival of the room we walked in to find it looked like a bedsit and the disgusting smell hit you straight away. The light fittings were hanging from the ceiling with all the wires showing. The bedding was something out of the olden days (REALLY GRUBBY). We went back to reception to complain about the room because on the booking form we requested the new block and this was ignored. The reception staff were very ignorant and abrupt especially the blonde one.
They told us that were nomore rooms available so we decided to stay in reception until something was sorted out. They told us to ring the emergency number for the reps which we did so to find that there wasno answer(this was supposed to be a 24 hour number)
A member from our party then asked a different member of staff if there were any other rooms available and we were given 4 sets of keys in block 2.
They werent perfect but they a lot better than block 1.
why should people pay the same money to stay in block 2 as other people who stay in block 3 which was a great deal better.
The only picture you see in the brochure is of block 3 appartments which i find very misleading.

Block 2 appartments have carpets right through which are brown in colour and attract ants and you scratch all the time coz they are everywhere.

The cats are like baby tigers.

We cant comment on the food coz we ate at legends bar which was fantastic sevice and very cheap but not only that the restaurant on site was being refurbished. We were only told this 2 days prior to going and that only small hand tools were beinbg used but when we got there they were using numatic drills and small diggers.and the restaurant was completely gutted.

The swimming areas were excellent no problem there.
the location was great.
But i would not stay here again there were so many people complaining that we new we werent alone.

We arrived on 1st july 2004. On arrival we noticed that the outside of the reception looked very nice.We then went into reception which was very clean and tidy.We checked in and was given keys to our rooms and also maps directing us which in the dark was very hard to read.On arrival of our rooms we entered to find cockroaches coming to greet us,the smell was disgusting and the light fittings where hanging from the ceilings with bare wires showing. The room was very grubby, in fact it was rated at a 3* but i wouldnt say it was a 1*.
We decided there was no way i could stay here with my 8 year old child as it was dangerous with the light fittings the way they were.
We went back to reception to be greeted by the most ignorant and abrupt staff who basically didnt want to know. We asked them to reallocate us to more decent rooms which when we booked we requested the new block 2nd floor but we was given the old block bottom floor.
They told us that they never had any other room keys so we decided to stay in reception until they find us some keys,A member of our party asked again a bit later and there was a different member of staff on duty and out of the blue he found 4 sets of keys for us to have a look at.The keys we were given were for the 2nd block 2nd floor. The rooms were quite the same as the 1st floor but it was a lot cleaner, the only thing was that the rooms had carpets instead of tiles which was very unhygenic for the weather conditions out there. there was ants everywhere and the cats were like baby tigers you couldnt leave your room door open because the cats would have been under your beds and in your room and they were very nasty.
We didnt eat at the resort because there was building work going on. We were told 2 days before that the work was very minor with only hand tools being used but when we got there they were using numatic drills and little diggers basically the restaurant was gutted.
Location was fine everything around you.
I will not be returning to these appartments at any price in the near future.

We arrived on thu 01 july and after requesting Block 3 (new block)previously, eventually got it.
After reading all the reports on this web page we were a bit dubious of going but still did.

The staff around the hotel were more than helpful, and in the bars you never waited longer than 5 mins to be served in peak times. The All inclusive drinks are locally produced so will never be up to uk standard but still acceptable.

The room was fine and clean with plaster flaking off the wall in places. Could do with revamp but ok. Maid was in 6 days a week clearing up our kids mess!!

Fodd in the boulevard restaurant was nice with great variety, different dishes each nite. If you decide to go out for dinner then go to the Casa Grill bar, you wont find food so superbly cooked.

Entertainment was pretty good each nite although they relied on holidayers participation at times, but differnt evry day.

The beach is very clean and soft sand although sea can be rough if windy out there.

First choice kids club is next to nothing and the kids will totally enjoy. The staff are brilliant and work real hard especailly Doodle Debs.

If your looking at buying electronics, camcorders etc then take a dixons catalogue with you to see exactly how good a deal your getting.

Only saw cockroaches when a builder dug a drain up to eliminate them.

Remember however good or bad the holiday is its the people that make it specail, especailly the other holiday makers that you meet :-)

We arrived on the 1st July 2004, we found the reception to the hotel very light and airy. The hotel staff at reception were very polite and pleasant.

Before we went we requested a room in the new block on the 3rd floor and that is exactly what we got. The room was very clean and the beds very comfortable, I looked in all the cupboards and under the beds and didn't see any cockroaches in our room for the duration of our stay the only problem we had were with the ants in the bathroom but they were dealt with straight away.

The location of the hotel is very good near to the beach and the bars. The hotel staff everyone I spoke to were very nice and did their upmost to help you. The animation team did a wonderful job and worked really hard to keep children and adults entertained through the day and night. Although the entertainement at night is mainly done by the animation team they do have a hypnotist on a saturday night which act is repeated every week so that got a bit boring once you had seen it and was a bit rude for the kids to watch and the singer on sunday night was terrible.

I did feel that the rooms could be swept a bit more frequently than they were although the maids come in 5 days a week.

The food was ok sometimes it was really nice other times not so good but that happens with all all inclusives we certainly didn't go hungry and didn't feel the need to buy our food else where. Any one going to the Los Zocos please don't be put off by other peoples comments make sure you request the new block and you shouldn't go wrong we had such a good laugh there and the kids were upset to be going home.

They are really trying to upgrade the hotel and take all comments seriously. Would I visit this hotel again yes I would but not for a few years as i like to try new places. If you have young children this place will keep them occupied for hours on end as they have a brilliant team of animators who will make their holiday fantastic

The reception of the place was very clean, when I walked in I thought everything was going to be as clean as that. I was wrong.
First we had to find the room wich was hard becaude most of the lighting leadin to the room was no working. We had 1st and oldest block, ground floor(all the two bedrooms are on the ground floor!)
The first room we had was dirty, the sofa, the beds, everything in the place was dirty. There was also a light next to the kitchen hangin by wires! PLUS THERE WAS LOADS OF COCK-ROACHES! So me and my family decided there was no chance we were stayin in this room, we sat up all night then in the morning went down to the reception to get another room.
The rep didn't look like she was bothered at all about us, but she said we could try block 3, so we did, we went to the new room but there was this extremely loud constant whistling noise coming from the windows, so we had to get another room.
After about a 3 or 4 hour wait we finally got the right room (even thought it was 1st block) no sign of cock-roaches, quite clean, but still it wasn't what I expected.

The location of the hotel was amazing, right next to a netto(shopping market) and shopping centre and the beach was only a short walk away.

We never really had any bother with the staff, it was the reps!

We never really took part in any entertain but it just seemed to be things goin on at the night club next to reception, like euro 2004 matches. And speakin of the nightclub it was very dirty too.

The pools didn't look as if they had been cleaned at all, and 1 was suposed to be heated but they were all freezing cold!

I wouldn't really visit this hotel again, just because of the cleanliness and state of the rooms and the work being done on the "el mirador" restraunt.(very noisy)

I was very impressed with our arrival, swiftly dealt with and eagerly met by the reception manager who made sure we had two lovely rooms and gave us an assurance that any problems we had would be dealt with swiftly, which was a very encouraging start.

On arrival in our rooms we were pleased with the space and the overall appearance, yes there was a small stain on the carpet (bleach) and one of the kitchen cupboard doors qouldn't close, but to me thats not a problem. I mean, its 3 stars for goodness sake.

We needed a second bed in one of the apartments, so after speaking to reception it arrived at 10.30 pm, which yes was a little late in the day, but at least it arrived and they insisted on making it up for us.

The reception rang me during the first afternoon to make sure everything was okay and asked if we were happy with the rooms etc and if not they would move us.
I saw one couple complain the first day and they were moved to block 3 without any problems.

We met the new guest relations manager, Leslie Garcia, towards the end of the first day, and what a wonderful person she is, she has only been there 3 weeks, but she is very attentive and is already making a visable difference with her presence, keeping an eye on problems, writing problems down as they are raised and making sure they have been corrected within a reasonable space of time. She and the Hotels Director have some good ideas about the development of the complex and are both striving making the place even better

As for the food, I honestly expected to get bored with 2 weeks all inclusive and we expected to eat out for a few nights as a change, however, this was not the case, the food for 3 star was simply excellent, always a great choice of salads, meats, fish, including smoked salmon, mussels and fresh prawns some nights, freshly cooked steaks etc, pastas, pasta salads, soup, cheese and biscuits, always something to tempt and always hot!!!

Breakfast are a dream, loads of choice and freshly cooked, worth getting up for in the morning

Pools and surrounding areas were cleaned every day, without fail. Okay, its windy so some litter builds up during the day, but this is unavoidable.

Bar, restaurant and snack areas always cleaned away with efficiency, and any spillage (kids etc splling pop etc) was cleaned away within seconds, and I mean seconds.

The animation team deserve medals, they really did make our kids' holiday, they are incredible people, working long hours to entertain the kids and adults alike, all with great talents, the Dirty Dancing show was amazing along with the Starlight Express, and the kids enjoyed getting involved in the Snow White and the seven dwarf show on Wednesday.
Personal thanks goes to Miguel who did everything he could for us to make the 2 weeks for the kids enjoyable, and he is just a 'top bloke'

The hotel is currently undergoing a refurbishment program, with Blocks 1 and 2 getting new bathrooms, kitchens and the carpets are being replaced with tiled floors, I couldn't get a defined completion date, but this is currently ongoing and should solve many of the complaints about dated rooms etc.

We only saw one cockroach late at night run across the path, my son chased after it as he wanted to take it home We never saw any in our room (top floor)

The El Boulevard restaurant in being extended and will have a seperate kids buffet section which will be better for the kids. as at the moment it is all one, as in the kids share the same food etc.

In summary, no hotel is going to be perfect, but the staff at the Los Zocos are aware of there problems and are doing everything they can to improve things, problems are going to arise and I always judge people on how well they respond to problems and the Los Zocos is one of the best businesses/hotels I have come across for dealing with complaints/problems, they are attentive and they will go the extra mile to sort things out if you are not entirely happy.

I know the people at Los Zocos will read this at some point and credit where credit is due, We nearly cancelled after reading some reports, but that would have been the biggest mistake we made, we had a great time here and I'm already looking to come back next year and that in itself says something.

Anybody who doesn't enjoy themselves here is really not trying.
