Have just returned from 14 day visit, which unfortunately coincided with French School holidays.

The Hotel was noisy in the extreme, and children were running about freely, and screaming and shouting. The style of the buildings makes for lots of echoing, and in the Dining room we went early for breakfast and dinner.

We found scrambled egg cold or luke warm, and the best option was to queue for an omelette which was made whilst you waited. However, the desserts at dinner were excellent with a good variety of choice.

The Tunisian Night in the Hotel was excellent with a good meal and entertainment. The rooms were spacious and well equipped, although some maintenance work on a Card dated 10/03/05 had not been completed.

The seaweed? was cleared from parts of the beach, but immediately in front of the hotel was about 3 metres and about 1 metres deep. No real effort was made to clear it , but if you walked about 150 metres down the beach you could get in the sea easily.

If you have mobility problems there are no handrails to the indoor pool, jacuzzi or main outside pools.

This is a very impressive-looking hotel built in a classical style with a large amount of space around it. The front has a quiet seating area among palms and the back has a huge pool and lots of room both round the pool and on adjacent grassy areas.

No shortage of sun beds, mattresses etc. Immediately outside the pool area is the beach with more sunbeds etc.
Just before we arrived a storm had covered the sea edge of the beach with a thick layer of vegetable material(seaweed? but this was being cleared.

A very well-appointed hotel with good service and lots of space both inside and out.
It is very quiet (except for the occasional aircraft noise) which suited us.

Easy travel into local towns by taxi or, better, by metro train for which the station is only ten minutes walk away.

What a fantastic hotel everyone so friendly. Weather not too bad considering the time of year. Beach kept as clean as possible.

Food excellent compared to other hotels. I was told they have sent 10 of their staff to England to learn about our food I certainly couldn

The hotel is tastefully decorated and the rooms are spacious and clean.

The Tunisian Night in the restaurant is excellent with local food, live music and candlight.

The location of the hotel is very good - right on the sandy beach, and within a short taxi ride to Monastir and Sousse. There is also a train service nearby that is cheap and effective.

I am impressed by the friendliness and efficiency of all the hotel staff.

Despite the off-peak season, the entertainment is great in the day as well as in the evening. The entire animation team works very hard to keep guests of all age group entertained.

I would love to revisit the hotel again some time.

Hotel clean, room cleaned everyday to a good standard.
Food not so good - with bouts of dioherroa on more than one day, for all the family.
Location next to the airport, so expect aircraft noise!
Staff friendly but lacking English so difficult to explain needs.
Entertainment and generally all activities winding down in winter. Only complaints to Thomson rep meant something was done.
This is not platinum, far from it. Would not go near this hotel agina

We stayed here for a week in November 06, my 2 year old fell on the bus and gashed his head, luckily enough the hotel was only 5 Min's away.

Fantastically impressive entrance and reception. Told them I wanted to go straight to my room to sort out little boy would fill out forms later, fair play was taken straight there no questions.

The hotel was immaculate from top to bottom, the rooms were of a nice size and well equipped, lovely bathroom with hairdryer and shaver points, tv`s in room but English channels very limited, but Dora the explorer in German was an excellent way of introducing them to a new language.

The food was brilliant, plenty of choice and at every evening meal you could have a roast complete with roast potatoes and yorkshires.

The pool`s are amazing just to look at but obviously in November are going to be really cold, but that doesn`t stop a 2 and 1 year old, after about 5 minutes you don't feel the cold, Only had one drizzly day for the week.

The beach is lovely, sea slopes so slowly the kids are really safe and the beach is very clean, sand is more like talcum powder than sand.

The staff are so child friendly you wish you could take them home, kids would dash off when we left to go to breakfast because all the staff seemed so genuinely pleased to see them and give them high fives and swing them around in the air. Even though my kids were to young to go to any of the entertainments one of the animation team would always pop off when ever he saw them and come back with huge bars of chocolate for them and buy them bottles of fanta. I did find it all quite embarrassing, considering he probably earned peanuts. Likewise the cleaning staff would think nothing of spending 15 minutes chasing them around and playing with them.

There was a playground outside with a slide playhouse and see-saw with an patio door which opened into a play room with more toys, but the best thing was we were on ground floor and just lift them over balcony and they have access to all these things that are totally secure. Can't comment on evening entertainment because kids in bed by 8.

I would definitely go back to this hotel even if it was for how much the kids enjoyed themselves. I did find bar staff grumpy but I thought it was because I was asking him to fill a bottle with warm milk every night, but now I`ve read other reviews I realize it`s across the board in Tunisia

Nice hotel right on a lovely white beach, shallow water so excellent for children.

Breakfast was good with fresh pancakes and omlettes. Lunch at the Barbecue was nice the Brik was very good a poached egg with tuna fried in filo pastry. Evening meal was ok very much cattle market quite a few people push in front of you namely the French kind, if your foods still warm by the time you sit down your lucky.

Desserts were great there are loads to choose from and on a Tuesday night they have a Tunisian Night with loads of small sweets.

Entertainment I did not sample but could hear the birdy song from my room anyway.

Rooms were kept nice and clean with floors washed everyday, tv sockets/powerpoints hanging out beware. Nice size room and good air con.

Would return to Thalassa as a lot of other hotels in the area are not so good. Hotel is Platinum standard for size and facilities, private beach is the only one kept clean in the area.

Food not brilliant could be better, table covers not always clean and lots of flies hanging about.

We have just returned from a weeks stay at the Thalassa hotel and had a wonderful time.

The hotel was lovely. Big, clean rooms with very good air-con. Towels and bedding were changed daily, and everything tidied up for you on your return from the pool or beach for the day - little extra touches of shaping my nightly into a small fan shape on the bed everyday was very nice, and a fresh rose in the vase everyday as well.

The food we found to be very nice. All buffet type meals, but there was so much choice - ended up having 3 courses every night even though we'd promised ourselves only to have 1 that night !

The BBQ on the beach was good too for lunch, having only gone half board we ate here most days - it was very reasonably priced (about

Lovely looking hotel.

Rooms nice and big and kept clean.

Had room that over looked the pool and could see the sea.

Nice swimming pool area.

Very close to beach. Hotel beach kept clean but beaches in surrounding area dirty.

Hotel near airport but this was not a problem.

Food okay but not platinum standard.

Staff nice.

Down side: Hotel too isolated for us and Thomson sold this hotel to us as a platinum hotel. This in my opinion is NOT a platinum hotel. It lacks the platinum touches.
