Las Canteras is one of the best city beaches in the world.
There is none of the tat that sadly blights many of the resorts on the Canaries, perhaps that is why there are so few north europeans here, most visitors are either local or from mainland Spain.
The beach is 5km of excellent and gently shelving into the warm sea, life guards and the red cross have stations here.
There are good restaurants and cafes alongside the promenade, an authentic experience indeed.
