We stayed at the Royal Kenz, Port el Kantoui the hotel was very clean and impresive.

We arrived about midnight so just managed a couple of beers before bed. next morning walked around hotel & grounds very pleased.had a brilliant holiday food very good never heard anybody complain about anything staff allways polite.

Didnt catch much of the entertainment met another couple and would spend much of the time in bars talking & having a laugh . Hotel is about 50mins walk along the beach or 5mins in taxi[4dinar] . Weather was beautiful spent most of the time on beach which also has a beach bar serving drinks & snacks. Sunbeds 1 dinar for day. Would definitely go back

I went to the Royal Kenz in April with my parents and I decided to return with my parents and mate in September.

Tunisia is a lovely place to visit to experience their way of life.

The hotel is nice with friendly staff. Hi to walid working on reception lovely funny guy! Took us to the Tunisian nightlife also the staff who work at the pool bar work very hard to serve the guests.

I would visit Tunisia again but stay in a different hotel.

Starlight room could have been cleaner, mirrors filthy, didn't look like they had been cleaned since my last visit 6 months ago! Broke a glass in bathroom 1st day and there was still some on floor on last day!

Felt crockery could have been better inspected, lots of cracks and this nonsense of not being able to take your glass out of the dining room at night was very tiresome.

Felt food could have been much hotter, even after telling Jamel about it on more than one occasion. And the queueing was a bore too, not that I ever did!!! Don't know how the other guests felt about me doing that I didn't look them in the eye. The cakes and puddings were about the only thing I ate too much of, was a bit apprehensive of the food as a whole.

Staff were good, except when Ramadan started, they were grumpy and none too helpful, which to me kind of defeats the purpose of Ramadan. Felt all the staff were looking for tips all the time too.

Entertainment was dire and the rainy day we had you couldn't find the entertainment team for love or money. Also felt they weren't happy at all, too much political stuff going on amongst them!!!!!!

Had a fab time last time but not so good this time, won't go back. This is not a 4* hotel by any manner of means. I've had better.

Everywhere in the hotel is spotlessly clean. Our room was above the air conditioning generator, which when the balcony door was open was noisy. With air conditioning in the room the door did not need to be open.

The food was varied but was not as hot as it could be. If travelling in a couple then during meal times, tables had to be shared, not just by another couple but by another full table sitting. Even if there were spare tables, you still had to share.

The trip to the Sahara desert is not to be missed especially riding camels to watch the sunset.

Hotel staff are very professional and thorough.

Before going to the Royal Kenz Hotel, I had read many a conflicting review on this site as to the standards of the Hotel, and having just got back from 1 weeks stay in the Royal Kenz I felt it only fair to put my own opinion down.

I personally thought that the Royal Kenz was a lovely Hotel. Our Room was lovely with a view over the pool. The room was cleaned daily and I would say it was cleaned to a good standard. The rooms are well decorated and comfortable, I never felt confined, and always slept well at night. Although it was a bit rough around the edges in places, I had to remind myself that this was a working hotel in the height of Summer.

The Pool area was lovely (apart from the people who put towels out pre 7am) and we always found somewhere to lie down, no matter what time we went. The Pool bar was good as well.

The Beach is private, and very nice, The hotel have a Snack bar on the beach, and you can rent a cushion for the sun lounger (about 50p a day) Although the rep warned us of people trying to sell things on the beach, I personally never had a problem with them, I would just say no and they would walk on. The sea was clean, and although the sound of powerboats was a slight nuisance, I would still say it was a lovely beach.

Some people have complained that the food was not very good, or that the selection was very limited, firstly, the food is, as you would expect in North Africa

Wow! It was an amazing hotel that I will return to without doubt next year!

When we arrived at about midnight we received a warm welcome from the reception staff and were quickly shown to our room.

The next morning we found meals in sittings. The first sitting for breakfast was 6.0 till 8.00 and the second sitting being 8.15 till 10.00. I personally have trouble getting out of bed and was happy to be n the second sitting whereas some other holiday makers weren

All public areas of the hotel were kept spotless and the room we had was cleaned every day to an excellent standard.

The food was varied and plentiful with a Main servery, Grill bar, Carvery, Vegetarian option and Tunisian selection in addition to the mountainous salad bar. Desserts, Ice cream and fresh fruit were always available.

The Hotel is a bit out from the centre of the Port but only a short cheap 3 Dinar (

My husband and myself visited the Royal Kenz hotel for 2 weeks with First Choice and had a wonderful time. We arrived at the hotel at 2am in the morning but the reception staff had us booked into our room in no time. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the rooms (we stayed in a superior room) were lovely.

The food and the restaurant itself is lovely. We had the same waiter all the holiday and he was really friendly and jolly. We shared a table with a different couple each week but did not find this a problem (a good way of getting to know your fellow holiday makers.) We took advantage of the French and Italian restaurants, they were super.

There are plenty of places within the hotel to sit, relax and have a drink, there is also a large patio area outside. The pool area is very attractive with plenty of sunbeds.

The hotels private beach is a short 5 minute walk away down a path at the side of the hotel, here again there are plenty of sunbeds/parasols and the sands are kept lovely and clean.

It is very easy to get out and about within the resort, there are numerious taxis which are very cheap and are always parked at the end of the driveway of the hotel.

We will definately be visiting again.

First impression was very good as we arrived in the early morning after a long flight and airport transfer, staff were helpful, organised our bags and took them to our room.

If possible I would upgrade to a higher class of room, although our first room was suitable it was on the ground floor but veiw was restricted by palm trees. Asked to be moved and was the next day to another room.

Staff were very helpful during meal times with the same staff for your duration. Food was excellent and plentifull at all times with, alcohol, wine and soft drinks available to buy.

Pool and surrounding area good but found the German habit of pre booking sun beds a pain but, got round that by putting our own towels out on the way to breakfast as this was a good time to do it.

The French and Italian restaurants were great. Good food and service but book early to get your prefered date and time.
