Not really three stars as we were led to believe. Have stayed in 2 stars to five stars all over the world. This was very dated and sadly the rooms were not clean. Part of the complex with abacus a and b but definitely the poor cousin. Excellent drinks and water available all day til 11.00pm and the choice of eating at the other hotels in the complex. Breakfast limited and no english tea! Reception staff helpful and friendly. Despite the bathroom being cleaned the carpet was never vacuumed in the whole week. Had to wait for our rooms on arrival despite the flight being 3 hours late ( with no explanation)and were then told that rooms our three rooms would be on three different floors. Not suitable for a family with young girls and an under 11 year old. It was sorted but not the connecting rooms we were led to belive we would have by goldtrail. Location is excellent just a few minutes from the sea and right in the middle of the shopping area but since the hotel has no double glazing and poor fitting windows and doors the noise from the bar/club just across the road kept the children up until at least 1 every morning. Would not go to his hotel again but would definintely want to visit the area again

My husband and I travelled to this hotel with our 2 kids aged 14 and 11, on arrival we were greeted by very pleasant staff who quickly showed us to our rooms, although the rooms were clean, they are in much need of some TLC, as everything in them are dated and well used to say the least. Our first impressions of the hotel food was good, we stayed all inclusive but really wished we'd of gone self catering, don't get me wrong the food was nice but being in the centre of town there were so many different restaurants to choose from. The hotel pool was a joke, the pool bar was closed a long time ago, so you have to go down 2 flights of stairs to get a drink, but just across the road there is a sister hotel called Abacus Metropol, which you can use, nice big pool with plenty going on for kidswe were told we could only use the drinks AI at that hotel but this wasn't true, you can also eat there. Dont expect any kind of entertainment at this hotel, you will be very disappointed, although that said, theres plenty of night life and entertainment in most of the bars. The people here are all lovely, they go out of their way to help and make kids feel welcome. We went on a lazy day bbq boat trip with a great turkish guy called cheeky b....r!! it was a fab day and the food on board was lovely,it was only

Stayed in the Idas hotel on the fifth floor - rooms small and dirty - bathroom small and smelly. Fidge, telephone and t.v. did not work. Air conditioning was good. Food was terrible. The hotel need a major refit. I love Turkey and Icmeler but would never stay at either the Idas or Metropol again.

The grand saral, sounds great but be very careful not to go here, we called it the villa Bella [fools and horses]we also named it the un ;/ unclean unhealthy unsafe unfit unhelpful uncaring uninteresting uninhabitable its our honest opion of this slum 3* more like 0*. Live wires dirty floors, dirty grained towels and bedding. Rusty nails for locking balcony doors. Fishing gut holding shower rail up, exposed wires above your head in the shower go here at your peril. Every day newcomers from all over UK. Husbands complaining wives just breaking down in tears im not being funny this happen daily at the slum, the resort of ishmeler is very nice, good restaurants entertainment value for money would visit again but not within sight of the pits they call the grand saral. Please take my advice and save yourselves the heartbreak of not enjoying your holidays as we found to our considerable cost.ps rep didn

To begin with our flight was delayed by 6 hours due to our plane having to make an emergency landing. No apology or compensation was given for this.

We arrived at our resort at 12.30am on Saturday 8th September only to be told, via letter, that our hotel (Grand Saral) was full!. We were then placed in the Belle Mar for one night, with no apology or explanation, no water or food. We therefore had to pay extra to go out at 1am and find food and drink. The Belle Mar was so dirty that I got covered in flea bites all over my head from the pillows and slept in a towel as my sheets were so filthy.

We were promised by the rep on the coach that our room would be sorted by 9am the following morning. Despite chasing the hotel management and our Rep Jonni, we did not get our room until 2pm. Therefore 1.5 days of our holiday were already wasted. We had not slept for 29 hours by this point!

The room was covered in dirt on the carpet, with trodden in sweets included - and had not been cleaned or dusted. The bed sheets did not fit the bed and we were given a torn curtain to sleep underneath. With the exception of the bathroom, the room was not cleaned or vaccumed throughout our stay.

On the Saturday as we were so appalled by the Saral we tried the sister hotel - the Metropol for dinner. Unfortunately as we sat for our evening meal the chair leg snapped and the chair collapsed and I landed on the base of my spine and cut my hand on glass which was already on the floor. I suffered terrible back pain throughout the holiday and am now being referred for treatment for a slipped disc in my lower lumbar region (L 4 & 5 ). We informed the hotel manager of this accident and he responded by saying: "Oh dear, never mind".

We went straight to our rep Jonni the next day to report it, who responded in the same noncholant way. I advised that she may want to log it in an accident book, she said she should but was too busy and to come back another time. By this time, I was in tears and desperate to get home and exasperated that no-one seemed to want to help - or even just apologise. We tried on countless occassions to find Jonni but she was never there at her alloted times. When we did track her down, she would tell us to wait a minute and then disappeared and didn't come back, it was apparent she was avoiding us. I know she did this to numerous other guests also, as we were all equally angered by her apparent lack of interest and willingness to help.

Despite our attempts, my accident was never logged by Jonni. Neither did the hotel or our rep give us any first aid, details of a Doctor or hospital.

The food in the Saral was relatively tasty but very limited and always cold. There is no method used to heat the food other than metal plates. This resulted in me getting a severe case of food posioning.I spent the remaining two and a half days in the bedroom being violently ill, three weeks later I am still unable keep anything down.

I regularly go on low budget all inclusive holidays at the end of the year and have never experienced anything so awful from start to finish before. The staff in the hotel pay you no attention unless you are female, 16 and blond. All the facilities, including the pool and other communal areas are dirty and dangerous. My partner cut his toe on some glass on the floor by the pool!

We have still had no response to our complaint and are going to see our solicitors

Don't use goldtrail or the Saral

When we arrived the staff were very helpful, couldn't do enough for us.

The room was okay for the price we paid.

The food wasn't too bad, but it's only a three star hotel.

The location was great for us, close to all the amenities, and as for the staff, we thought there were really friendly and helpful especially Hassan, George also was very helpful,(reception boy)

As for entertainment we didn't need any when we had Hassan.

I will be going back to the hotel, friendly, helpful atmosphere that's what this hotel offers you.

The hotel is part of the abacus group there are 3 more hotels over the road. The internet says that you can us all facilities at the other hotels.

This was not the case, the day we arrived that was withrawn (apart from using the pools). So that you could use the pool and watch the entertainment at night but not get your all inclusive drinks.

The evening we arrived it was after 9.00pm and enquired if there was any food we were told no! (we found out later that there was food for people who arrived on the same bus were staying the complex).

They opened the bar which was in the garden, there was 2 tables with chairs outside. Then each day they did work on the bar whilst you were there even angle grinding the marbles steps, each day they put out more chairs and tarted up the bar area. By the end of the week, the outside garden seating area/dining area was complete.

The pool is small and a bit broken up, very few sunbeds 30 is being generous I think, it is on the 2nd floor of the hotel, there is a bar by the pool, but that was not open although there is water and fruit juice you help yourself to.

The rooms are adequate the bathroom is fantastic and our air con was fab, tv (no remote or channels), fridge, carpet in the bedrooms (past its best). Food, we were warned that turkish AI is not the same as anywhere else, the food was ok (that is generous).

There was a small choice, it all tasted ok there was lots of salad stuff, but most evenings only 2 meat dishes (if lucky) then some veg.

The food is brought over the road from the complex in trays covered with bin bags! We ate out mostly, restaraunts round and about are cheap and really need the custom as the AI is killing them.

We were chatting to a couple who were put in the attic rooms and that was horrendous (no aircon), no balcony, no maid service! they were moved later in the week. The problem with this hotel is that it has just joined the chain and is not up to the abacus standard.

The pictures on the internet show abacus main pool and facilities, you know you are the poor relation as soon as you go over the other complex.

By our 4th day the owner had been down and the rep had told us that we could use all the facilities over at the other complexes , but could we eat in the saral occasionally.

This hotel is now due to be upgraded once the season finishes. If you are going here, check for sure you can still use the facilities in the abacus complex, and dont expect to much of the saral.

This is the first time we had been to turkey and the hotel did not put us off. It was clean and the staff are friendly.

One tip is there is a local beach bus from the abacus, it takes you to a beach further up the resort and you are waited on hand and foot all day by the boys. They bring you drinks and a menu for lunch to eat on the beach or you can use the restaurant just off.

You are under not obligation to buy a drink. But the fresh orange juice (ask for a small) is fresh and worth starting the morning off with.

My daughter and I stayed here all inclusive and have just returned 16th July. The hotel is 3 star and we were pleased with the hotel and the staff were so so friendly and so helpful esecially Ferdi (waiter) and George the guy on reception.

We were allowed the use of the other sister hotels of abacus (metropolis and iduz) these were both of very good standard.

The hotel is ideally situated near the beach with only a five minute walk.

The pool at saral is not up too much but hey it's a pool and is clean.

There is a bar there where you can help yourself to water and juices. The other main bar is only down the next flight of steps for those of you who wish other refreshments.

Cakes and coffee are also served 4-5. we will definitely be going back to this hotel as we felt so welcome and as I have said the staff were so welcomming and helpful.

Thankyou to all the staff at saral for making our holiday so enjoyable.

we will definitely see you again Karren and Rachael from Chorley, Lancashire.
