We were very disappointed to find that despite reading good reviews about this hotel, it fell very short of our expectations - We were told that because of a change in management, standards had fallen dramatically and the staff were fed up with the constant complaints from holidaymakers.
The food was mediocre to say the least, breakfast especially - the entertainment was virtually non existent, but the worse thing for us by far, was that although there were 'No Smoking' signs everywhere, ashtrays were placed on every available table and of course that resulted in smoking everywhere - if you were a non smoker it was very uncomfortable especially in the evenings - even our room smelt of stale smoke? Sorry to say it was without doubt the worst hotel we have ever stayed in!

This hotel far exceeded our expectations. Our large room overlooked the magnificent pool and had full sea view. The food was superb. So much choice and beautifully cooked and presented. The staff were always there to help but never intrusive. We had a keyboard player in the evenings in the dining room which added to the child free ambience. The all inclusive was better than expected and well worth the extra. The entertainment was presented by the in house team who worked really hard but the style of entertainment was very repetitive and a few outside acts would have been better. We only went for one week and so wished it had been for two. We would definitely go again

Although our bedroom was looking a bit tired, it was clean and well appointed. The cleaning staff were efficent and we had regular changes of towels and linen.
The common rooms within the hotel were comfortable and clean.
Pool area was very clean with staff coming around all day keeping it tidy and recovering used drinks containers etc.
The staff were very friendly, they worked extremely hard and could not do enough for us, they really made the holiday.
Food was good, very enjoyable evening meals and we were pleased with the dress code for meal times. We would have liked to have a little more choice away from 'English' food, but that is just nit picking.

Stayed for a week in february, and on arrival the floor to our room hadn't been swept or washed...... just thought this was an oversight. The floor was in the same mess the day we left. The sheets and towels were changed on the 3rd day but no cleaning had been done at all. I wrote "dust me" on the TV screen the day I arrived, and it was still there when we checked out!. The wardrobe doors ere falling off and the whole room was urgent need of decoration ( as is the rest of the hotel), everything is so dated.

The food ranged from cold to hot, but variety was good. restaurant staff were unfriendly and never spoke. As soon as you finished eating your plate was whisked away, even though my wife was still eating. The bar staff were really helpful and friendly and they made up for the poor service of the restaurant staff.
Location was OK and there is a bus service just up the road.
Entertainment was mainly bingo and quiz in the evening but was OK.
If I had booked to stay for two weeks at this hotel I would have asked to be moved on day 1. This is not a 4 star rating at best it pushes three.

Well, what can I say? After reading the reviews and asking a question or two myself on here (as Fitzy1, been unable to log as that since the changeover so had to reregister )
If it is not too late for any of you who have booked this place....amend your booking NOW and go elsewhere!We went on Boxing Day, returning on 2 Jan.
Ok first , some positives:-
Staff were, in the main, friendly. Especially the waiters in the evenings in the bar.
We had great weather!!!
The hotel is in a great position, overlooking the sea, and the view from the pool area is stunning.
Now on to the gritty stuff.........
The hotel is not 4 star. (It may have been 20 years ago, but the decor and shabby dirty appearance of the public areas and bedrooms are more like a two star)
Our bathroom was grimy. The tiles had never been cleaned and had streaks and tide marks running down the walls, the floor tiles were there from the day hotel was built, chipped and filthy.
The bedroom was plagued with ants.....even to the point of them crawling on me in bed!!
The food ranged from very good (about twice) to abysmal. One day everyone was complaining that lunch was COLD....cold greasy pork chops and Freezing cold chips.
Next day everything was boiling hot and the food was replaced every 5 minutes......sadly that only lasted a day
On New years eve the water dried up.....therefore no baths or showers (apart from in the basemant gym, somehow that had water.) No water of course means no mixers for drinks......the poor rep had a mob following her to reception yelling for the manager. In the meantime they offerred us bottled coke and bottled tonic etc.....at a ridiculously high cost (we were in an all inclusive hotel!!).....this lasted for around an hour an a half.
On another night the gas 'broke', so, no beer, mixers etc again........
WE did ask for a move, but the rep said to be honest, this is best we have in the area ....so we decided as we were only there for a week we have to make the best of it.
I am not a complaining type (I holiday 4 times a year and have only complained to the rep once before this)....but the poor rep was running out of complaint forms this week! She had a queue several people long PERMANENTLY!
Also, nothing to do with the hotel, but just to add to our misery, we had the neighbours from hell in the room next to us. I wont go into what they were doing on their balcony one afternoon in full view of anyone who cared to look (or listen!) as this is a family site...only to hear them coming in at 3 in the morning and have the biggest row I have ever heard, she was effing and blinding and there was furniture smashing........we complained to reception along with most people in the hotel. Next afternoon on the balcony.........guess what they were doing again.......??????
Having said all that, we DID make the best of it, we met some nice people, and Coral Bay itself is lovely so we spent as much time as possible out of the hotel.

The staff couldn't do enough for you....there were plenty of staff there. They had excellent English and were very friendly. The rooms and communal areas were all very clean with the maids changing towels and making beds regularly. The food was varied and the evening was formal....however it would be nice to be able to wear short skirts or dresses in the evening meal (as I am young) but this was not allowed. The location is just off the main strip so quiet but close to everyhting too. Beautiful views! There are some villas being built opposite the hotl but they cannot be seen or heard from the other side (the main part) The lighting is quite poor at night just outside too. Entertainment was the usual cheesy hotel type but was provided both day and night even though we went off season. I can't wait to go back to the hotel as it was so clean, friendly and the rooms had stunning views and were spacious.

Booked this Hotel and then read reports. Some were very worrying but noted they were from last year.
Airtours did inform us of building work,but this did not affect our holiday at all.The Hotel has been refurbished and the rooms have laminated floors.
All staff were found to be very pleasant.
The food was good,although sometimes some was only warm.The bonus is there wasn't any kids(wonderful).
The pool is fantastic,large and not to cold.
Didn't find drinks to be watered as was mentioned in some reports just that a lot of mixers were added,no problem just ask for less mixer.
The entertainment was so-so, mainly because Thomas cook reps are left to do it,but saying that they tried their best so full marks to them.The casino nights consisted of a blackjack table and roulette table,not much fun for people who didn't parcipitate.
As for bingo, well only one game is played so that was no problem.All in all had a really good holiday and would book this hotel again.

The hotel was showing signs of wear but was kept very clean, staff never stopped cleaning and tidying and rearranging! Room was adequate for 2, nicely furnished, cleaned every day (linen and towels only changed every 3 days). Only down sides were no light on balcony and a temperamental shower. Fridge provided to store our water and aftersun! Hired the safety deposit box (

This is my third time to this hotel and yet again I feel I have to place a review on here as before I go I always check other reviews and always becopme slightly worried about going due to other peoples poor reviews. However I am pleased to say I was not disappointed again this time. We arrived at resort late but were deealt with quickly and efficiently by staff on the reception. The room was very clean (and has been re-done since my last visit, liked the laminate flooring, much better than carpet!). The rooms were cleaned daily to a very good standard. Towels (as promised) were changed twice a week as was the bedding. The air con was very efficient and the room cool during the day. The pool area was very clean and the pool is fantastic, my only moan was the smell of vomit around the pool toilet area it was not pleasant!! First visit to the Coral Beach and it was a great place. The room was spacious and very clean. Air con worked a treat and was certainly needed.

Plenty of sun loungers round the pool even in the height of season. The pool was clean and warm. The no kids thing was a big draw, but the 'entertainments' team treated us all like we were 12, and pretty much disturbed us all day.

Food was great, plenty on offer and a good choice every lunchtime and evening. We did go out a few nights just for a change and Coral Bay was only a short walk away.

The entertainment team were pretty annoying. It was like having Timmy Mallet with us on holiday. And when trying to have a nice relaxing evening drink, the last thing you want is bingo.

All in all a really great hotel.
