This has been our 8th consecutive year and as mentioned by Dave it's just like home from home. We keep saying we'll try somewhere different, but something keeps pulling us back to the Ascos.

The hotel reception staff and restaurant staff are most obliging and polite. It's a comfortable hotel with plenty of sun beds. You can join in the daytime activities or just relax around the pool area.

Every year small improvements have been carried out to the hotel and it was nice to see hanging flower baskets by the pool restaurant.

We play tennis every morning and it was very disappointing to find that the tennis court net was damaged. We managed to make some repairs to it and hopefully by next year, when we visit again, it will have been replaced with a new one.

We have already booked for next year and look forward to seeing the many people we have made friends with over the last 8 years.

This is our forth visit to the Ascos beach hotel, we feel that the standards have dropped.

The food quality was poor and the drinks were very weak, the entertainment was the worst we have encountered, which is a shame.

From a excellent to poor in two years we will not be going back!

We had quite a good stay at the Ascos, remember it was January though, the staff were very helpful, but I must say that the decor in the bathrooms do need looking at.

I also had to go to receception and mention 3 times that the bathroom service was not very good as our room had been cleaned but not the toilet or the sink, also entertainment was very lapse, unless you like bingo and quizzes thrown at you morning, noon and night.

I am not saying I would not stay there again as we did enjoy ourselves, but when the summer months come could the hotel cope with the impact of so many guests, as it seemed even when we had really good weather and everyone was out around the swimming pool, it seemed to be crowded.

But don't be put off only my comments try it and see for yourselves.

Due to infirmity I considered the bus stop to be too far away from the hotel. There were lots of steps down to the beach which made it difficult to access this area.

The entertainment wasn't very good although the staff were extremely helpful.

The food was to a reasonable standard.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel if you find it difficult to use public transport and recommend a hotel in Paphos itself.

Entertainment is ok if you like bingo and singing.

A great choice of food, some of it could have been hotter.

Our rep polly was great could'nt do enough for you.

I booked this holiday with Thomas Cook at the time of the booking I stated we did not wont a Hotel with any building work, and I was informed by that there was no building work reported at this hotel. Five days before departure I had a phone call informing me that there was building work, but it was only inside work completing some apartments, I was given the choice of cancelling the holiday or booking another hotel, all the alternative hotel with the same facilities were more expensive and as this holiday was to celebrate my 30th Wedding Anniversary we had little or no reasonable alternative in the short time span they had given me, so we decided to go as the building work was stated only to be finishing touches

On arrival we had been given a refurbished room, but our friends were given one that badly need refurbishing, this seem to be pot luck, but if you complain you can get moved but it does take time.

We were woken at approximately 0700 the next morning by the sound of jackhammers and building machinery this when on to the late afternoon, this was to be the case every day. I informed the rep we were not happy with this and she informed me that the building work had been going on all year and she sent regular reports to Thomas Cook Head Office stating this and she could not understand why I had been informed so late. At this point I would like to state that the Holiday Rep (Polly) was probably the best and most hard working we had ever come across.

I completed a complaints form and also wrote to Thomas Cook on my return from Holiday this was the 6th October after sending several other letter all I have been informed is that my letter is with their customer complaint department.

The staff were very helpful and our refurbished room was good but make sure you pay for a sea view room. The food was very good providing you like meat for those who don

Fantastic!! Like others we had read the reports before we travelled not sure what to expect but it was a wonderful relaxing holiday. We went with our friends without our children for a week to chill and we did that.

The food was lovely plenty to go round you could eat all day.

Rooms huge and cleaned every day

Always a sunbed available so no mad rush with your towels at 7am!

We had the letter about work being carried out. Yes there was but we hardly heard it we sat other end of pool.

Staff were always polite and couldn't do enough.

If we get the chance of mum having children again we would go straight back! So those who are off to Ascos have a fab time you lucky things.

First impressions of the hotel, beautiful.

But on closer inspection, there was a lot of dangers present like unstable Pool stairs, which proved difficult for me to get out sinc im disabled.

The staff were very friendly and lovely people. You were treated like you meant something.

The food was nice enough but repeatative - even in the week we were there. Also you find the ham and cheese they use for breakfast, they recycle into pasta for lunch which if it isnt finished then is then put out for dinner. Think the chef has run out of imagination! But the food areas where superbly clean, well presented etc it was simply lacking in viriaty.

Our room was originally a one bed apartment set outwith the hotel grounds, but they said because of my disability this would be unsuitable so immediatly put us into a room in the hotel. (First choice's mistake there)

The jacuzzi wasnt in order, infact people staying there had said it had been out of order for the two weeks they had been there.

The entertainment provided by Thomas Cook was ruined with pitty pleas of low pay and asking us to "tick the excellent boxes" everytime they entertained. This aside, the entertainment would have been reasonable for four reps, they had a good bit of viriaty - but they ruined it. They would also find out who was leavin the next day and grovel that night...never caring of these people until the day before they left.

Hotel Location was Ideal, it was a wee bit of the main street of the town so was quiet and peacful, but within walking distance of restaurants, bars, car hire, atms etc. Ideal Location.
The hotel had a fantastic little shop that sold a wide variety of things at fab prices.


All in all the hotel was beautiful but needed to up its maintenance. There was quite a few safety issues which we complained about in writing to first choice. And I would not say the food quality was 4*, I would say 2* possibly 3* but presentation, dining area and staff all 4*+.

Do not travel with first choice tho...

Me and my partner and freinds were at the ascos in august 2006 and had a great time.
we are going back again this year we were so impressed.The staff and the reps were allways on hand to help and advise. The food i cant fault The rooms were cleaed daily.you dont have to take your own towels just leave a returnable deposit i think it is ten cypriot pounds and you can change your towels as often as you like. you dont have to get up early to get your sunbed becuse there's plenty of them. The pool is great, just like the hotel. we cant wait to go back

I had read some of the reviews about the hotel . However I was delighted with the hotel food staff and cleanliness, The food was good and plentiful.

Room clean comfortable and spacious. The staff were extremely helpful and polite.
I would definitely go back.
