Having first read some quite poor reports about this hotel I had reservations about going however our attitude is a bit "make the most of it and dont't go again if it is no good.

But to our delight it was fantastic, from the check-in when we arrived at 3am till the day we left. Our room was fab with a full sea view cleaned every day, wnd clean towels- also the pool towel service is excellent-clean pool towels every day, but not advertised in brochure so we took some but could have done with that extra room/weight in case!

The food is excellent with some repeats but quite good themed nights and very hot. I like the seating arrangements for eve meal as you are not wandering around looking for a table paticularly at busy periods.

The staff are mainle east european and very friendly with most speaking excellent english and for those not quite so good, just slow down a little and you will get there.

Entertainment is excellent and the staff work overtime to ensure you have a good time. Some people moaned about the bingo- but is 1 game at the start of the evenings entertainment and when you are playing some times for approx

We stayed for a week all inclusive at the end of July

We arrived in the early hours of the morning and found the young man on the reception very helpful and friendly. There was no messing about and within minutes we were inside our room.

We paid for a sea view and we were very pleased with the room (we really thought they had messed up and we would be moved because the room was really that nice)

The food after a few days did get a little boring but they cant please all the people all of the time so we went into Coral Bay for a few meals and drinks which took a few minutes getting there and back.

We found the staff very pleasant and friendly and we even enjoyed the entertainment ok it was a bit naff but come on your on holiday ....

There is one thing that I am a bit miffed at it's that I really want to go back in August 2007 but I would love to book the same room that we had last year but I can't remember the room number and I don't know what to do .............?

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Ascos from 18-25th June and have had a fantastic holiday, we don't want to be back!! Like others, we read the reviews before we left and were worried about what to expect when we arrived. However, when we arrived at the hotel we were really happy. My advice to anyone reading these reviews is just to concentrate on the ones from this year as I understand there have been on going changes to the hotel due to the new manager in place.

The hotel was spotless, our room was cleaned everyday and the pool, restaurant and other public areas were all clean and kept to a high standard. Some of the rooms are in need of updating, for example ours could probably have done with a new carpet/flooring and a bit of attention in the bathroom but it was still very comfortable. We understand that the new manager is addressing this issue and is currently renovating all the rooms in the hotel.

With the choices that were on offer for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks you will never go hungry! Loads of variety for lunch and dinner. For dinner, the main meal most nights, there was a carvery of beef or pork as well as other choices being available (such as spaghetti, chicken, pasta etc) along with different veg and potatoes. The waitress service in the restaurant was also brilliant, they are all really helpful and super efficient.

The hotel is located about a 5 minute walk from the main 'strip' in Coral Bay. Even though the seaviews are fantastic there is no real beach by the Ascos which lets it down slightly. The beach at Coral Bay is about a 15 minute walk away.

The hotel staff are all really friendly and we found that they could not do enough for us. The new manager has introduced a waitor system for drinks reducing any queues at the bar. This was great as most of the day we had someone bringing us drinks round the pool and to our table in the evening.

The Thomas Cook entertainment team worked really hard. There is a programme of daytime activities (darts, boules, table tennis etc)and also something going on every evening. They all work very hard so we have to give them 10/10!

There is some building work going on around the hotel but it did not effect our stay, we rarely heard any noise and even when we did it was not loud enough to effect us. However, we had a pool/seaview room so if we had been at the front of the hotel this might have been a different story.

All in all it was a great holiday, make your own mind up!

We got back from Ascos on 14.05.06 & can ay that I could eaily have stayed on longer this time.

The hotel was clean, rooms were cleaned daily.

The food was lovely although similar every night.

There is work going on by hotel and can get noisy when sat by pool, nly got woken up once by it.

The rooms @ Ascos are being renovated and we had a newly decorated room nice cream wall paper, laminated flooring, freshly painted, was really nice (we have been before, so can tell what a difference it makes!).

Entertainment got better as weeks went on, Stevie P could go far, but as always the whole team tried really hard, well done, Stevie P, David, Kayleigh & Jenny.

Staff were lovely & really friendly, doesn't take much to be polite back!! (some people didn't then moaned!!).

This is our second visit to the Ascos and we loed it again, can say we will go back one day, hopefull next year, we had a fab holiday and we wanted to stay longer than the 2 weeks we had, hotel did get busy & fully booked in our second week so we did have to get up to get a lounger by the pool, but hey holiday are not for staying in bed.

We paid 12.50 cyp for a safety deposit box for 2 weeks which is reasonable.

The TV had a english news channel and a english movie channel (with greek subtitles) if you are going on holiday to watch tv!!

Over all, was a fantastic holiday and wish I was still there.

First thoughts on hotel 3* was given a room in bungalows, which are slightly better than hotel. Room was not cleaned th other 4*hotels we have stayed in.

We are reg visitors to Cyprus and this was not one of the better hotels.

Garden areas are badly kept, and the hotel shows lack of staff.

Food, breakfast was very 3* watered juices cold eggs
usually you would have someone cooking eggs etc in 48 hotel. Evening meal to us saved the hotel the choice small but everything cooked lovely and kept hot'
it is very English, but if like me you like roast beef roast spuds, veg, fresh salads, soups cheese & biscuits
you won't be disappointed, also the wine they give you is nice.

I feel the hotel is aimed at the over 50s, or it could be just our timing?

Drinks are well watered down, sometimes you don't get what you ask for, sometimes they bring you two!

Location is good for Coral bay.

I have to say though we paid alot less than usual and can't really complain, if you book this hotel at a good price you won't be disappointed, alot of people thought it was fantastic, just don't expect too much.

We had a lovely week in Cyprus weather is fantastic in May, and 460.00 each all in it was worth it.

We would visit again but only if the price was right.

We have just returned from a week at the Ascos Coral Beach Hotel and had a really good time.

We were very apprehensive after reading some of the reviews regarding this Hotel but we needn't have worried.

We had a newly decorated room overlooking the pool and found all the staff very friendly.....in fact nothing seemed too much trouble.

The pool area was fantastic - it was cleaned every morning and the surrounding patios washed and swept of any overnight debris . The trees and plants were pruned and grass cut with as little inconvenience as was possible to the people sunbathing.

Yes the food was very 'British' but most people seemed to enjoy it.....I would have liked a bit more Greek food but as we were only there for the week it wasn't a problem.

Although we have children (grown up now) it was lovely to have none around and that was a big bonus. The guests were mainly older but as we were leaving more younger people arrived.

This hotel is ideal for any couple looking for a relaxing holiday ...quiet if you want but lively with the entertainment if you choose.

The view of the sea was lovely but if you want sand then the 5 minute walk to bus in the 'high street' takes you to Coral Bay beach in a few mins.

We will definitely return to this Hotel in the future.

The bedrooms could probably do with a good overhaul and upgrading, and there did'nt seem to be no-smoking room options. The food was 'so-so' and we would have welcomed at least one days traditional Cyprus food!

The hotel has a very nice indoor and outdoor pool and plenty of loungers. The sauna worked ok, but, perhaps an overhaul and safety certificate would be in order? The hotel staff seemed mostly east-european, and well mannered and polite.

The entertainment was provided by Steve, Dave, Jenny and Kayleigh. They seemed to be getting better as the week went on!

They all took time out to speak to holiday-makers and were very friendly!and dressed in company uniform to see us off home! Amazing!never had that one before, nice touch. We arrived at 12.05 and were very disappointed to have to pay for a drink!

Perhaps the travel agents might like to re-schedule flight arrivals? Or at least advise the bar staff of late arrivals? It made us think about what was to await for the rest of our stay.

The all-inclusive bar: not sure but the lager did'nt seem as strong as the local bar ( to much water?)and a similiar comment applying to shorts. The bar closed at 12.00 which was ok, but I would like to have been able to buy a drink at 12.30!

We bought mugs to use, instead of the miniscule cups! perhaps the hotel could provide these as an option? We had to pay 5 cyprus pounds for an addtional room key ( non-refundable) and 7.50 for a safe key ( non-refundable) seemed a bit harsh.

Found out that we could rent a remote for the tv! but did'nt bother. Just one english channel (bbc world)which we don't even watch at home! Perhaps they could get sky news? and we did realise we were on holiday, its just nice to have something to watch sometimes!

The hotel has a part built building site to the rear right and we think shortly one to the front! The noise from the site was bearable(just). We might not visit again, but nothing to do with the hotel, which was not bad. But possibly not 4 star, perhaps it should be rated again?

Second time to this hotel and still as good. Now maybe the rooms could do with a wee bit of renewing but still comfortable and clean.

The food is excellent, but a slightly restricted choice. The all inclusive allows you to serve yourself to beer, wine, water and cofee, tea etc.

The staff are international but cheery and friendly.

All in all an excellent hotel well worth a visit.
