Just returned from a very nice 2 week stay at the Conrad.
Check in was quick as we arrived from the airport on a minibus with only 1 other party onboard. A bus with a large number of people arrived shortly afterwards so I guess we were lucky. We arrived just after 10 pm and found the restaurant was kept open for arrivals with a full selection of food. After eating we were taken to our rooms in the new block. I was a little concerned we were near the nightclub but we didn't here a thing from there the entire stay.
First impressions of the room were "wow"
Very large with a kingsize in one room and a king with a proper single in the second. The rooms were spotlessly clean and kept that way by the cleaner. Some reviews have called the rooms dated but this is not the case in the new block but I cannot comment on the main block. OK the bathroom doors had a bit of peeling of paintwork and the grouting was not to my dads standards! In general the standards of cleanliness in all the public areas was very good. We were charged for items in the mini bar we didn't consume - only a few pounds but still hard to disprove

There are 2 pools , we chose to use the quiet pool most of the time but of course the beach was the main attraction. Snorkelling was amazing and youngest who completed her PADI open water with Aquarius said the diving was even better ! She should know as she did her 4 open water dives for her certificate and 2 more for fun!

No complaints about the food. Yes buffets can get repetitive but it was fresh and hot when it came out. Usual niggle about people leaving covers open. Fresh pasta station at lunch and dinner with a "special" or two each day. If you didn't fancy anything there was always the mini pizzas. One small gripe was the portion size of the specials- very small - if that was all you wanted (as in our case a few times) they seemed to be reluctant to give you more ( but did)
Although 3 out of the 4 of use had tummy upsets at one time or another they were minor and did not impact on our holiday. Saw the Dr and Nurse eating in the Tiran a few times so they must be confident its climate not the food!

There are 2 restaurants - Tiran and Pharoahs . The food is exactly the same and comes from the same kitchen so its your choice. We preferred Tiran - seemed quieter. Pharoahs was used mainly by the Italians , is bigger and a bit chaotic in my opinion. All guests can use either. Waiters were excellent , tables cleared quickly and drinks served promptly. You get your bottled water at mealtimes , as much as you want provided you can carry it

The Italian A La Carte was a disappointment. This maybe because we ate of the set menu , those we spoke to wha ate off the menu said it was lovely. We all had a slightly "gippy" tum that day as well so that may have had something to do with it. We were also charged for water despite the flyers saying it was included, not worth arguing over though. Didn't try the fish A La Carte

The best thing about the Conrad is its beach. Fish are amazing and Nemo is well and truly found! There isn't much else in the area. There are a few shops in the hotel and 5 mins walk takes you to "Baron Boulevard" with the usual tourist stuff on sale - a pharmacist ( 50 LE for Antinal compared to 5LE in Luxor but stil cheap) hairdresser, Shisa and cafe plus the smallest supermarket I have ever seen.

Staff were superand looked after us very well. My mother had a fall , hurt her back and had a horrible infected wound on her elbow and the guys at the pool and in the Tiran really looked after her.
Thanks also to the onsite medical staff - she had to be seen twice a day for dressings and they were great. The Dr even gave me his mobile to speak to our insurers as mine went tech!
When we had a problem with the room reception got maintainence around in minutes

Entertainment is where this hotel falls down in my opinion. The animation team were frindly and tried their best and a lot of people loved them BUT there was nowhere to sit outside and have a quiet drink/ chat if this was not your thing. The bar in the lobby got crowded , was understaffed and of course inside. I would have liked to see some of the extensive outside space used for a quiet area. We would either sit in the Shisa area (with a pipe 10 LE)where you could still hear the entertainment or sit around the pool . We are early to bed and early to rise people but this is something we felt lacking.
They do put on an Egyptian night once a week outside the restaurants. Enjoyed that the night we saw it
The wine was OK ish but spirits undrnkable but I know this is common in Egypt. Soft drinks were branded - Pepsi, 7up , Fanta etc plus the usual squashes.

Had an egyptian massage - very good .

Day trip to Luxor was fantastic. As it was my first visit to Egypt did it semi independant via Charm of Sharm - private trip just the 4 of us . Well organised and excellent guide and driver but HOT!

We went into Naama twice just to eat and had no major problems with hassle but we went early and had left by 11. Taxis ordered through the hotel were reasonbly priced . Great driver the first time but the second one ..

Also did the Bedouin night, camel ride and stargazing which we enjoyed

Just a few comments from reading other reviews- in our experince you could not hear the animation team unless you were around the main pool. We didn't hear them on the beach or at the quiet pool - maybe previous comments have been acted on
Also didn't hear the Italian "Blu Club" apart from 1 day on the beach.
There is some"hard Sell" around the pools but once we said no and meant it we weren't bothered again.

So all in all if you are looking for a quietish beach based holiday as we were you will not go wrong. If you want a party hotel then this will probably not be for you.

We stayed from 11 August for 7 nights.

Firstly, I have read some of the reviews regarding this hotel and I think either some of these people were at a different hotel or were on a different planet.

We travelled as two adults(in our 40's) and an 11 year old. We thought that on the whole the hotel was excellent. Excellent beachside location, good facilities and choice of pools. choice of restaurant with excellent choice of food which changed every day.

I would like to counter some of the points raised in previous posts and bring you back to reality.

"Dirty round the pool", said one. The hotel stands on a desert peninsula with temperatures around 100 degrees, of course this will cause some dry sand dust from peoples feet. The pool area was cleaned at least once per day.

"Had to pay for bottled water when restaurants were closed" said another. Very few All Inclusives run for 24 hours. the bars have to close at some point. All information that I read before travelling mentioned that the All inclusive finished at 11pm. The Pirates Club is open later but drinks are payable at reasonable prices. When the restaurants were closed water is freely available at any of the bars. Only the outside bars serve drinks in plastic cups, this for the safety fo everybody in the resort should a glass be dropped or knocked over. If your child was cut by lying glass you wouldn't be happy would you. The indoor bars serve drinks in glasses.

The animation team were absolutely fantastic!!
If you did want to take part there were some great activities organised by Ali, Mark, Katie,Romeo, Ronny, Holly, Sam, Gillian and the fantastic Kimo. A previous reviewer said that you had to be 18 to enjoy it....nonsense. We are in our forties and really enjoyed watching the entertainment. We chose not to take a full part in events most of the time but the staff always took time to speak to us courteously around the pool and no pressure was exerted. We managed to have a relaxed time by the pool reading as did many others. The music speaker was only pointed to one side of the pool area, if you wanted to escape this then you could choose the other side of the pool. The same team provided the evening entertainment and worked extremely hard to make it funny and enjoyable for all nationalities at the resort.

Housekeeping was excellent aqnd came to our room door each evening to make sure that the days cleaning met our standards. It always did.

The shops in the hotel sell basic toiletries and sun lotions and took English currency which saved on bank charges and we were not ripped apart by the exchange rates. Thre is also a bank and ATM machine.

There is also a medical clinic to deal with everything you need madically and will arange payment through your holiday insurance at no cost to you. This is available 24hrs.

There are two A la Carte restaurant which you can vistit once per week and the The Italian restaurant Il Pozzo was absolutely fantastic and offered great food and a relaxed ambience. In the two main restaurants all of the staff were fantastic attentive and a really good laugh, nothing was too much trouble.

Someone said that it was in the middle of nowhere. A slight exaggeration. The beachfront location more than makes up for this and This is a huge benefit as it means airport transfers are only 15 minutes and the hotel runs a courtesy coach to and from the centre of Naama Bay.
If you want to take a taxi its only

WE have just returned and as we always do when we post a review give the facts as WE found them.

We had a premium room that on first impressions looked great but after spending seven days in it became very apparent that it was in need of a remodel especially the bath room.

The shower screen leaked every time we used the shower, toilet roll holder fell of the wall, towel rail fell off the wall, beading around bath missing, toilet seat kept on breaking which made things difficult when we talk about the Pharoh's Revenge that all guests seemed to be afflicted with over the week we were there and although all issues were reported on several occasions nothing was fixed.

Right lets focus on the people who run this hotel. From the minute we entered the hotel to the second we left the staff could not do enough for us. What a fantastic people the Egyptians are and we were made to feel welcome everywhere we went.

Our room was kept very tidily by the chamber person who always apologised that the equipment issues we had in the bathroom were never fixed and indeed he would get upset as he felt he was letting us down even calling his supervisor one day to show him. Fantastic guy and we tipped him well during the week.

The food. all I can say was FANTASTIC. The choice on offer was excellent and always served piping hot with many options available even to most of the fussy eaters (although you cant please them all). I ate for England the first three days and was then struck down as were most people by the Pharoh's Revenge. As a qualified catering manager I do not believe this was in anyway down to the food and the quality but to the sheer heat of the day (sometimes 48 C)which affected peoples digestion as we brits just aint used to it. The waiters are a great bunch of lads in all the restaurants but we had a couple of favourites in the Tiran Restaurant and as we always tip great service we had a fantastic time.

Dont book the trips offered by the tour company as they are a total rip off. We arranged a couple of trips with the OMAR riding school who will come around the beach and pools to show you what is on offer and Omar the owner and Mohammed who works for him were great guys who delivered everything they promised for such reasonable prices. We went for a two hour horse ride in the mountains with guide, admission to the local bedouin evening show and dinner with drinks, and transfer home for a total of

Conrad Hotel in Sharm el Sheikh

We had a fantastic time. The staff are absolutely fantastic, very helpful and friendly. The hotel is brilliant although I would say that the bathrooms do need updating. It is very clean and you will see the cleaners working at all hours of the day and night.

The food is lovely and there is a large variety, always fresh unlike most all inclusive holidays we did not get bored once with the food.
A bit disappointing that the specialist restaurants were not included in the all inclusive, although you could eat at the Italian but had to pay for drinks.

If you do need to see the doctor for any reason, don't worry, he is very friendly and good at what he does.

My son who is 6 had an absolutely brilliant time and kept everyone entertained. The staff are very child friendly.

Would certainly recommend this hotel to anybody and we will certainly be returning, this is the best holiday we have ever had.

The Conrad is a lovely hotel. We are just back from a weeks holiday which was fantastic.

We had 2 rooms with interconnecting doors which is great with the kids. The rooms were very spacious and cleaned thoroughly every day. The whole hotel was very clean.

There are 2 pools but we were always at the one at the back where the animation team were. The team are brilliant. My kids (11 9 7) loved them especially Katie, Roni and Gillian. The staff are always very helpful and pleasant.

If you see Ali at the pool he will keep your sunbeds for you for the duration of your holiday. I will definitley return to the Conrad. I will however take mosquito spray with me next time tho!

This was our second choice after changing because of building works. We are so glad we changed.

On arrival check in was quick and you were made to feel welcome from the start. Shown to rooms and bellboy brought our cases about 2 minutes afterwards.

Rooms were spotless and cleaned every day with fresh towels. Maybe needed some work but you don't spend your holiday in the room so i don't think this mattered.

Food was lovely always something to eat and was constantly being replenished. Staff in restaurants were also very helpful and although we didn't tip until the second last day they made sure we were OK every time we went into restaurants..

Bar staff were very good also and we didn't have any complaints. They all work very hard to make your stay as pleasant as they possibly can.

Pool was good although sunbeds can cause some problems especially from the Russians.

Now onto the entertainment team. What can i say. They were brilliant and really made our holiday. If you din't want to take part they were fine with that but they really did want you to enjoy your holiday.

I would like to thank Ramy, Ronny, Mark, Bob, KT, Dee, Dena, and Ali you all do a marvellous job. Keep up the good work. Ronny hope you still have that Scottish fiver and are still saying aye.

All in all had a brilliant holiday and looking to go back sometime maybe new year.

We have just returned from an absolutely fabulous holiday to The Conrad Hotel in Sharm El Sheikh. The hotel rooms were spotlessly clean and very tastefully decorated. All the staff, from the staff who cleaned our room (Sayeed), the waiters in the Restaurant( Moheb and Emad to the General Manager, were so friendly and always willing to help, and genuinely want you to have a great time. The food in the restaurants was always fresh and well prepared from pizza/pasta, meat to fresh fish. We enjoyed the relaxation of this holiday, and my husband took the chance to get his PADI Diving Certificate with the help of the wonderful staff at the Aquarius Diving Centre based at the hotel. Our special thanks needs to go to Sonia, Guest Relations Officer, who looked after us very well, Nabil Fouda, our new friend, Hassan, Restaurant Manager and of course Hesham, General Manager. We will be back at the Conrad Hotel as soon as possible, and we very much look forward to it. What a wonderful place to spend your 25th Wedding Anniversary.
