I visited this resort at the end of March / start of April 2010 and I have mixed feelings about the trip. The resort was clean and the cleaners were often around the pool and in the restaurants. They clean your room but they will make more effort if you tip them. I was told that Block 8 which we stayed in was only 3 years old. It was a nice clean block but the bathroom looked as though it was ready to fall apart.

Most of the staff from the resport were nice especially those working in the bars. The First Choice people couldn't care less if you have any problems.

We booked for three adults in one room, we had a two person room with a little camp bed which I didnt mind that much but we asked about 20 times for our third sunbed (as we had paid the same price for all three adults) but we never received it

The food was nice and well cooked but it can get very repetitive after a few days especially if you are a vegetarian

Most of the shop owners in the resport were nice but even a few of them wouldnt leave me alone thinking that i had millions of pounds to spend on rubbish that i didnt want. I actually found this treatment quite scary.

The pools were nice but very crowded and again there are so many rude people who come round trying to force you to have a massage or other services and they wont leave you alone and this to a large extent spoilt the holiday as I felt that i didnt want to be outside if they were always hassling me and saying no just makes them angry and makes them try harder to force their services onto you

So all in all the resort was clean, the grounds were nice, the food was good but a bit repetitive and some staff were excellent whereas others were rude and uninterested

Cant fault this hotel.Cleanliness was exellent, staff extremely helpfull & friendly. We didnt like the view from our room when we arrived (block 12) requested a move and the next day they gave us a lovely, bigger room overlooking the quiet pool (block 10)they will do anything to please if they're able to.
Food was very good, particularly the asian restaurant.
The trip to see the stars in the sinai desert is a must,if you dont do any other excursions, you should do this one. Also went on a snorkelling trip that was well worth doing. You can see lots of tropicl fish off the jetty on beach, if you walk to the right, at the beach, a few jettys along you will see lots more, bigger more colourful fish, this made our holiday.
The only niggle I had was getting caught at dusk by the mossies, take repellant, there is a mossie man who sprays the bushes every evening, but they bite with a vengence if they find you tasty.
I would visit this hotel again.

Just got back from the Holiday Village Red Sea and we had a fab time. We went for 10 days and we had booked in to a swim up room which was great. Block 13 and had the sun on it all day. The water in the pool was cold but I packed a wetsuit for my son so he loved it and it was just so nice to relax and not have to fight for sunbeds. It was my 40th birthday while we were there and the cleaner made up our room and decorated our bed with towels to make it look like a cake. The food was good, and plenty of choice. It was also nice to eat in the al a carte restaurants as it made a change from the buffet. My little boy loved the breakfasts the best, he had pancakes every day!!. We didnt really venture outside the hotel as we just wanted to relax in the sun. The hotel staff were really friendly and not once did they ask for tips. There was no pressure at all. The First Choice entertainment team were great for the kids. My son loved the disco every night. He also went a few of the sessions at the kids club and liked the climbing ropes the best. He also enjoyed the chocolate party. I would go back to this hotel again as its great for families.

The hotel was fantastic.
The grounds were beautiful and very well kept. There were gardeners working all day and often into the evening.
So lovely to wake up to a pretty view.
There were cleansing alchohol gel dispensers as you walked into the restaurents and notices advising you to check that all food was hot and not to take anything out of the restaurants.
There was a wide range of food at each meal time.
- roast beef, roast lamb, stroganof, goulash and lasagne are just some of the choices on different days.
My children loved the freshly made pizzas. They were only the size of a side plate and had what toppings they wanted on them. They loved the fact that they were cooked in 1 minute in front of them in the special grill.
The hotal is only 20-30 minutes from the airport and is on the flight path so some aircraft noise is experienced. But not enough to complain about.
Some days there were lots of planes in a short space of time. Some were quite low as they made their climb but, believe me, nothing that could possibly spoil your holiday unless you are incredibly fussy !
We had a problem with the air conditioning but the man arrived with his ladder within 15 minutes and sorted what ever was the problem.
We couldn't work the safe, even though we followed the instructions - the 'reset' button is on the inside of the door ! The man came within 10 minutes and sorted it out for us.
Some people have said that they only got good service if they tipped - well that is wrong !
The whole staff were fantastic !
Staff are split into 2 sections :-
1 First Choice staff
- In2Action
- swim coaches
- footbal coaches
- reps
- Entertainers

2 Hotel staff
- restuarant
- bars
- pool towel staff
- pool bar staff
- gardens
- toilets
- rooms
- reception areas
- spa and well being centre

I really hope I haven't forgotten any members of staff as they were all wonderful !

My children are 8 and 9.
They went to Superstars and LengthWave kids clubs.
If you go in a peak holiday time, you may have to queue to make sure that you child gets a place as, quite rightly, they are goverened by OFSTED regulations regarding child adult ratios.

The evening entertaininment between 8 and 9 pm is hilarious !
I learnt lots of new silly jokes at the Minersty of Fun.
Beware, you will go home singing "Holiday express" and "chocolata" You have been warned !

We didnt stay for the 'bingo' or later entertainment.

There are lots of things that famiies or adults only can do together.
Please check the notice boards at the bottom of the stairs
- we didnt and missed out on the fun !

Going back to cleaniless
- the beach toilets had a dedicated cleaner who mopped the floor at least every hour and repleniched the toilet rolls.
It was the 'dirty' guests who left them in a mess !

All in all - a fantastic holiday !
We met some wonderful people who we will stay in touch with!
Our children did not want to come home !

The only thing that really spoit our holiday was some of the other 'guests' and their ignorance and total lack of manners !
- I witnessed lots of examples of complete ignorance !

This hotel is exclusive to First Choice in the UK but - beware - it also has Russian and Ukraine visitors.
We have never met such rude people in all our travels !

At the end of the day, this hotel is a fantastic place for families.

Holiday Village at the Red Sea was cleaned to exceptional standards; the egyptians work all hours to maintain the high standards.

This was our first time all inclusive and we very pleased with the food; plenty of choice and some dishes freshly cooked in front of you. The most fussiest eater would definately find something here to eat as they catered for all !

Situated on the beach with breath taking views this is the most pleasing resort I have ever stayed in.

We can't wait to book up for this winter again with the children this time !

well what can i say the best holiday we have ever been on. we went to the holiday village with 3 children 5yrs 3yrs and 19mths. we was amazed at our room when arrived at this hotle and was even more amazed next morning at the beautiful views from our room we was in block3 and was over looking the main pool and beach. it was stunning. never had a single problem while staying at the h/v and all staff was really friendly and helpful at all time the facities for both the childrn and adults was above expectations and the hotel was so keep so clean at all times. the variety of dif food that was on offer while we was on hol catered for everyones tastes something for everyone. my kids loved the ministry of fun time each night where the entertainers would dance and do a show( magic etc)to keep them happy even if you didnt fancy all the kids stuff there is a adult only bar futher down our site alittle and a lobby bar. id be shocked if anyone could possible say theres nothing to do. pools was lovely and beach also nice . my husband and dad enjoyed snorkling while me and my mum took advantage of the sun and beach.
well all i can say is thanks to everyone at the holiday village and we cant wait to return looking to book our 2nd visit asap i highly recommend anyone looking at going to egypt this is the place to go.

We returned to the Holiday Village red sea for the 2nd time in Jan 2010 (first visit was march 2009)

The staff are fantastic, they look after you so well, nothing is too much trouble and they DON'T just do this for a tip!

The hotel is HUGE, definatly like a village lol, beautiful grounds, large main pool, smaller toddler pool, activities pool and the heated pool (which WAS called the quiet pool but they have changed the name as its far from quiet!)

The staff work very long days and always have a smile on their face, this is both the local staff and the holiday reps.

The daytime entertainment here is really good, you can join in if you wish or just watch them make a fool out of themselves, all good fun.

The food here is of a good standard however does get repetitive if here for longer than a week (but who cares it's cooked for you and no dishes to do afterwards ;-).. )

Looking forward to returning TOMORROW!!!

This was our second trip to the HV and we are already planning our 3rd...as return visitors we were awarded special privilages such as a free photo , 4 vsisits to any of the a la carte restaurants. free manicures (which my wife took up not me), a plate of fruit delivered to your room and one or two other things.
We were situated in Block 10 overlooking the quiet pool, the room was massive , much bigger than last year when we were in block 14, the room was cleaned everyday to the highest standard by Mahmoud who developed a good friendship with my 12 yr old son,
we did have a slight problem with big ants all over the balcony on our second day but within 5 minutes of reporting it the pest control guy was round and he sprayed everywhere , all we saw after that were dead ants but they were cleared away by Mahmoud every day.
the food was once again quite good with a good and varied choice , the Russian guests were a pain in the a*** with their attempted queue jumping but we managed to keep ahead of them and so did the Egyptian chefs /waiters it must be said (they are well aware of the lack of manners the Russians lacked).
We travelled the week after half term this year so it wasn't as full as on our last visit so we didn't have to worry about getting good spots around the slide pool.
My son and i did plenty of snorkeling just off the beach/jetty which was brilliant and we also took the First Choice trip to Ras Mohammed which was fantastic, we were accompanied by the best free diver in Sharm who can dive to 55mtrs without air(apparently), he certainly guided us to some great spots and the sights were awesome we even got close up to a large Sea Turtle.
Last years stay was the best we'd ever had ,but this years seemed to surpass it..we will definatly go back again next year.
The entertainment at night was quite good with a good mixture for kids and adults and there was plenty of space to sit and watch.
The staff throughout the complex are so friendly and seem to go out of there way to anticipate your needs and are always on hand with a smile and a few words.
Once again the weather was great , every day was hot and sunny with daytime temps ranging from 27c-32c and at night it was still pleasent enough to sit out in without having to put on jackets/jumpers etc.
The only minus points about the whole trip were the flights , on the way out we were on a very cramped first choice plane, and on the return flight which was a thomson air flight the staff were quite ignorant and one guy in particular kept knocking into my wife every time he walked up and down the aisle (he seemed far too big and clumsy to be an air steward).
Once again i would recommend the Holiday Village as a great place for families.

Where do i start?
What a fantastic hotel, i did not have one problem in terms of cleanliness, reveiws read before travelling said that there was mould in the shower, and fag ends around pool etc etc, i did not witness anything of the sort. My four year old son loved bob and bobby the the hotel camels even if they did stink slightly, but it was only then that stank, the hotel was spotless.

The staff were amazing catering to our every needs, and really attentitive! The Restaurants were superp, the fact that there are many only makes it better as you have a variety of choice, the indian cusine was excellent, not liking too much spice myself i felt they had something for all tastes, even my four yr old!!

Having stayed in villas for the majority of my previous holidays i decided to try and all inclusive resort instead and have to say i will never be villa holiday again! its so much nicer to see other famillies having fun, without too much noise, and have staff to cleann rooms instaed of having to do it your self, also having food made for you was heaven!!

Please ignore the bad reviews this hotel should be a 5* not a four*!!!

Please also remember if you are travelling with childre to take alot of suncream as it is so hot there i was topping up my sons every hour or so and also take lots of sun protective clothing, dont let them run around in little swimming gear as they may burn- even worse sun stroke as one poor lad staying there at the same time as we were did!!

Enjoy your holidays and take care all

Steph xx
