Having read some of the reviews on here we had been very worried before we travelled, however i was surprised to find most have exaggerated.
The hotel is in an ideal location on a man made beach, which allows you to walk directly into the sea, helpful tip is to get some snorkelling shoes as the coral is harsh on your feet.

The building itself if spectacular, beautifully lit in the evening and makes a good walk after dinner. As mentioned the grounds are quite steep and there are a lot of stairs so not so good for the elderly or disabled, but that said there is sufficient disabled access it just may mean a longer route.

Rooms were of a very good standard with lots of storage space, and cleaned daily. There is a TV and hair dryer, and a balcony with outside seating. There is no tea making facilities, but coffee lounge is open from 10 am - midnight. The mini bar is stocked once per stay with 2 cans of drink, 2 fruit juices and 2 bottles of water. Anything over and above this is extra. Water is available at all restaurants to refill your bottles free.

Staff are extremely helpful and love the English. There were many many Russians in our hotel, but this we found to be the case for most hotels as April is the Russian holiday season. I would recommend staying earlier or later in the year to avoid them as they can be very rude. That said we didn't let it bother us or affect our holiday.

The excursions are reasonably prices, Quad biking in the desert at sun set was brilliant and cost about

Fantastic hotel - represented exactly as per their website..

Cleanliness second to none - food great (no tummy bugs) - no waiting at mealtimes or for bar.

Weather mid 20's & just right for beach - sea warm & fantastic snorkelling - (so no need to go on snorkelling trip unless you really want a day out in a boat - quite a tourist trap!)

Must add that hotel was not even half full so would not know if standards would still be maintained if 100% full - but we all want to go back.. soon.

Excellant hotel. The staff were exceedingly friendly, and willing to give local knowledge and recommendations on interesting sites, restaurants, clubs etc.

The hotel was immaculate, the cleaning staff seemed to do nothing but from 7am-4pm, which is excellant for a resort on the beach, as usually you would expect sand to be dragged into the hotel!

The food provided was good, and there was a large selection at each meal time (none of our party fell ill).

The only let down in the hotel was the entertainment, which, however can be understandable for the season in which we went. There was a childrens club, evening live music and an Egyptian show one night though.

Would definately recomment this hotel, and will be going back later in the year.

OK, this is the quickest thing to read to find out how to have a great time at this hotel. We got back last night.
Dont drink the taqp water all the hotels have to use de salinated water,. (thats sea water which has had most of the salt removed,) You are best off to brusdh teeth with bottled water also,.all this reduces the risk of delly belly.
The salads are rinsed with secondary filtered de salinated water, so if you want to remove this risk, dont eat the salad, we ate only cooked food and were fine,
The pools are not up to the uk chlorine levels so be carefull but perfectly safe if you are.

This hotel was 90% occupoed with Russians, they are cul;terally different to us and are not as outward/friendly etc,. if you make a very bold effort they are fine, you will have to initiate it and it sometimes results in being given the Russian "are you mad?" look,.. I sat on a boat for a day trip with a Russian family and said in England we have this holding my mid sized beer belly, he laughted and said "In Russia too!" Holding his very large belly, we shook hands and said "Glasnost" (not sure of the spelling here,..)
How to be ill in one easy lesson,..and I quote,.
1. I have been sick for 9 days, I drink the water as I drink the water wherever I go! (DER!)
2. I brush mt teeth in the water, (Doh)
3. I ate all the weird fruit coz it was there,.(Figs are turbo laxatives!)
4. I dont know why our son has been sick for 3 days,..(we do he was spouting the pool water from his mouth all afternoon prior!)

Top tips, Be nice to the staff they love the brits, tip them half way through and again at the end and they will give you personal service,. and look after you (A bar tender jumped fully clothed into the pool and saved the life of a little girl who would have drounded) they get paid very poorly and a

We have just returned this afternoon after having the holiday of a lifetime.
We could not find fault. The place was beautiful, spotlessly clean, comfortable and had breath taking views. The food was magnificent. We had anything you could have wished for to drink day and night. The staff were so friendly and helpful that my teenage children have taken their email addresses to keep in touch with them. We will definitely be returning to this hotel next year. From the moment you arrived the staff made you feel very special.

This has got to be one of the most amazing holiday places I have ever been to!! I couldn't find a fault with it even if I wanted to! Food was fabulous and so was everything else! The staff were so friendly that i've stayed in touch with at least 3 and one may be coming for a holiday on the mighty isle of man next year!!! Actually the only disapointing thing was the entertainment. There was brilliant music pretty much every night but the shows which were on every night were rather corny. They were Russian sense of humour! As for people's problems with plastic cups the bar was free so you could have as many as you like. The only reason they were plastic is because they didn't want one of the glasses to smash in the pool! We're going back next year for certain!!!! I can hardly wait!!! :)

the hotel was a beautiful place and we could not get enough of the views. but apart from that i found the hotel was not a 5* at all i would give it at the most a rating of 3*. these are many restraunts which all serve the same things every day and night,we were all inclusive and ended up spending a fortune on food as we could not eat in the hotel after our first day.the drinks came in a very small plastic cup, even the larger and spent most of our time having to go back to the bar for a refil. there was no entertainment in the hotel and was many holiday reps to assist the italians and russians but there was no sight of any english so had no idea of what we could do and where to go exept from word of mouth.the staff were very unpleasent when we had a problem or complaint and left us feeling like we just had to deal with any problems as they would not help us,also we were passed around to many staff members when we had a problem and still could not get a straight answer or resolvment.but we noticed that the staff had many answers and were very helpful when any italians or russians had a problem. the cleaners were very pleasent and our room was very clean but the rest of the hotel was definatley not up to standard of clenleness. we would not recommend this hotel to any one and we will definatley not be returning.

The Inter Plaza Beach Hotel is a lovely hotel although I would say that it is not a 5* more likely to be a 4* due to little touches like not being seated in the dining room but having to find your own table etc. The staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The room was huge, we had a garden view family room but we actually looked out onto one of the many pools. The room was made up of a huge bedroom with a super kingsize bed, satelite TV, fridge and ensuite family size bathroom with bidet, toilet, sink, bath, shower and vanity unit. There was a door which exited onto the patio and a dressing area with 3 very large wardrobes and door through to the lounge area which had 2 double bed settees and this room also had an ensuite shower room, satelite TV, triple wardrobes and double patio doors onto the patio area, which had a table and chairs overlooking the pool. The AC worked with no problems as did the TVs, fridge and bathroom facilities, shower etc. All the restaurants were lovely and we ate in them all with the Indian being one of our favourites. The staff in the lobby bar, around the pool areas, reception and on the beach were 2nd to none & made for a most enjoyable stay. It was some of the other holiday makers that were the only problem, mainly Italian & Russian who were sometimes quite rude in their manner, pushing in in front of you on occassion, never saying excuse me etc but this is their culture and so this can not be blamed on the hotel and in Sharm where ever you stay you will find Italians & Russians in abundance who all act in this way. The beach, jetty & coral were amazing and my husband & our 14 year old son loved the snorkeling and saw many fabulous fish & eels etc. There was always plenty of food and choice in the restaurants. The childrens disco was a hit with our 9 year old daughter which was followed every night by some entertainment which was things like, African dancers, men breathing/eating fire, walking on glass etc. The bar at night at this area does serve drinks in small plastic glasses but it is one of the pool bars and so where ever in the world you were you would expect to drink in plastic glasses by the bar for safety reasons alone. There was also the ampitheatre which had entertainments on every night, on the occassion we went it was in Italian so we didn't stop. Also on the balcony at the lobby bar there was also back ground entertainment every night either a lady singing or a man playing guitar. I can't understand anyone who went to this hotel and didn't see any entertainment. Yes the entertainment is not broadway but then you are in Egypt what do you expect? We met some lovely people whilst we were there and went to Naama Bay, rode a camel, quad biked in the desert, sailed on a glass bottom boat, got a fabulous suntan, say some awesome fish & had a truly fantastic holiday so much so that the kids are asking to back there which says something when the previous 2 holidays have been Jamaica & Cuba!!

The hotel was in a good position overlooking the Red Sea. The food mainly catered for the Italian and Arab holidaymakers. Hotel staff were however very friendly towards the British guests. The hotel is advertised as being 5* , this in my opinion is not what you would expect from a 5* hotel, I would rate it at best as a 3* hotel. The service was hit and miss, there was little or no waiter service, a distinct lack of drinks on offer both alcoholic and non-alcoholic Entertainment was aimed more towards the Italian an Arab guests and was very poor. I would not recommend this hotel to my friends. Most of the British guests also suffered from the notorious stomach bug, we ourselves suffered from this for 3 days, not getting out of bed for 36 hours, if we had only been there for 1 week this would of completely ruined our holiday.

The Hotel and grounds are kept very clean. You could not fault the staff here. The food here is edable but not up to the highest standard as you are in Egypt.Location was great as its only minutes from the airport but with no aircraft noise and right on the sea front. Staff were nice and friendly and will always try to help. We chose this hotel as our kids are young adults and they could do what they wanted with or without us. The problem was that there was nothing to do if you were english as all the entertainment, what there was and that wasn't much, was either in mainly Italian or Arabic. There were very few english here but were made very welcome by the staff. The all inclusive does seem to mean that you can only use certain restaurants and the La Duna seemed to be only for Italian or Russians. The other menus, Indian, chinese and mexican you have to book in advance and can only have once while you are there. The Map that you are given does not give you any information about where everything is as we were there for 2 days before we found out that there was another half of the hotel on the other side of the lobby/reception. (we did arrive in the dark!)
