The hotel was very clean and the staffs were very friendly. The rooms were cleaned to a very high standard with clean bedding and towels every day. This was excellent service and could not be faulted.
The food however was a different story. To put it politely, it was diabolical. Of course if you could survive two weeks on pasta and rice then it would be fine. The other food was very typical of the kind of thing you would find on I am a celebrity, get me out of here. A very very very poor standard and it lets the hotel down very very badly.
The entertainment was good but very repetitive, however I suppose this is very similar to other holiday locations. The same music, games and mini disco every night and everything at exactly the same time.
The pools are excellent and I would give these 5 out of 5, however you are always hassled every ten mins asking if you want a massage, Henna tattoo, newspapers etc. These people are extremely persistent and never give up which is extremely annoying and very intimidating.
The holiday overall I would say was fair with a score of 4 out of 10. I have to say that I was really looking forward to Egypt and was very sadly disappointed. I would definitely not recommend this hotel if food is high on your agenda.
I would like to think that my visit to Egypt was only a bad experience because of the hotel and location; otherwise I would love to visit again but defiantly not this hotel.

After reading a number of bad reviews about the hotel we were rather worried and even tried to change the accommodation.
However, I have to say how glad we all were that we didnt. I just dont know what some people are talking about!!!!! food bland, no sign of meat, etc etc etc. what a load of rubbish.
The hotel was lovely, it was clean, the food was excellent all week with plenty of choice and a variety of meats everyday. The staff were friendly and drink was served at a number of bars around the hotel to suite you during the day.
There was your usual hotel entertainment by the main pool during the day, which isnt too my taste however there is a number of pools within the hotel which are a lot quieter and therefore suitable for everyone.
I am fussy with where I stay, but have no complaints about this hotel. All in all we had a fantastic time and cant wait to return again next year.

After reading bad reviews about this hotel we were a bit worried but it was totally unfounded.
The Hotel was lovely very spacious and very clean.
Food was good and plenty of it.
The location was a bit out of the way but not a problem to us you could get anywhere you wanted by courtesy bus or local taxi.
All staff were very friendly and extremely helpful.
Had a couple of local shows and the animation team tried to get guests to take part in the usual i.e. keep fit, water polo, darts and the like but with not much success but it was out of season.
Overall we had a thoroughly good week at the Palmyra and have booked to go back again in October!! Cant wait.

Having just returned from this hotel I would say that it was more of a 2.5 star than a 4 star! The food was pretty bland and the whole week there was no sign of any meat at all.
The cheap booze was also much to be desired. The hotel itself was relatively clean. The pool water was absolutely freezing cold.
Whenever you tried to sit down you were covered in annoying flies all day long, although the hotel sprayed the whole area each night.
The wind howled all night long and kept you awake. Sunbathing on the beach was like sunbathing in a hurricane, and you couldnt go in the sea as the black flags were flying all the time!
Also the beach bar only served soft drinks, if you were lucky! We all took it in turns to be ill all week, even though we were so careful with everything clenliness wise.
When going to the chemist to top up on yet more diarrohea tablets they wanted
