Not much entertainment in Gouves - one street of bars and restaurants - we didn't see one karaoke bar - which was a relief to us. Beaches were clean and not crowded in July. The resort was clean and the restaurants & bars spotless - the best we have ever seen - better than many UK places. We have booked again for July 2006.

Resort is nice and relaxed, not the place to go if you want to go mad and have a crazy holiday - would suit couples more. Beach front restarants are the best at sunset.

The resort is really nice although I imagine not suited to those who want to go clubbing every night.
There's a main street with lots of bars, shops and restaurants. We found Gouves much cheaper than other resorts in Crete.
We didn't actually go out in the evening to the main street because we had all the entertainment we needed in our hotel but believe it's really busy at night.
We can't wait to go back to Gouves. The Irish bar is worth a visit and the man who works there is a gem.

Very clean, some nightlife if you want it. Otherwise very easy to have a relaxing (romantic!) holiday.
Beach was gorgeous, lovely rocky coastline with some sand. I would definitely stay here again.

There is not very much to do in this resort.
There is just 1 street which provides the usual souvenirs. There is however some building work going on.
Not a resort to choose if you like to explore and have lots to do.

The resort was lovely and clean. No litter to be seen anywhere, just a lot of cats and kittens. Plenty of bins for your rubbish.
The hotels in the resort did provide entertainment for other people, but again, with going the last 2 weeks of the season, things had slowed down a lot and entertainment was very thin on the ground.
The main beach nearest to our hotel was clean but, it had quite alot of seaweed and you had to walk around it to get to the sea, unless you liked wading through foot high black seaweed, that is.
There were other beaches very close by and we found them to be a lot better. The sand wasn't as grainy and the water did seem to be clearer. We also found a rock pool with fish, and this proved to be a good source of entertainment for both kids and adults alike.

Resort to far spread out you need a bus to most places ok if you've got a month to look round and can find the right buses and stops, takes at least 3 or 4 days of your Holiday.
Tiny beach were you pay 6euros to squeeze on. 4euros without the parasol, not much for kids, plenty of walking if you like that sort of thing.

The resort, if you could call it that, consists of 7 restaurants, 4 supermarkets and a bakery.
The beach is nice, but you have to walk to the end of the resort, there is one nearer but it was shingles and rock.
There is one bar that does quizes about 3 times a week, but apart from that the place is dead.
Malia, the next town is busy, it is about 5 miles away so you could get a taxi or a bus.
There is nothing to do in this resort and I am glad we only had to suffer a week as some were there for 2 weeks and they were gutted, they just wanted to go home.

Gouves-
Great place. Not far from any apartments/hotels. Many entertainment on beachside. Resturants and supermarkets near! Reccomend Ourania Apartments. . . Visit in the next 6 months though as the manager 'Kostos' will be leaving! Not too lively in the area. But spotless and clean!
