Royal Belvedere Hersonossis.
Just returned from a weeks stay at the Belvedere. the room was huge and apartment style,with double bed, bed settee and seperate bedroom with another 2 single beds.there was a large bathroom with shower over bath and toilet,and also a seperate loo as well.
The room was fitted with patio doors, fridge and air con(inc in cost, not payable seperate) spotlessly clean with towels and beds changed daily.
The complex is set over a hill and is tiered with 7 pools to choose from,lots of kiddie pools with slides and mini fountains.
My 7 year old went to the kids club every day, and a mini disco each night.
The food was excellent, plenty of hot and cold choices, and delicious pancakes made to order for breakfast!
Always fresh bread available. Beer wine and all major soft drinks on tap at meals, also water freely available with meals(no charge!)
The snack bar was great if you didn't fancy moving away from the pools, serving toasties, chips, popcorn, pizza etc. again all drinks available on tap.
Water theme park just down the road with hotel free bus running every couple of hours. Local town 10 mins away, and only 5 euros in a taxi.
Excellent hotel for families as all soft drinks and ice creams included! Planning to return again soon.

We visted the web site the week before we went away so we was apprehensive about the hotel, but after arriving at the hotel we were amazed.
The hotel was lovely, our first meeting with the receptionist was great very friendly and speedy check in.
Our room was very clean [fresh linnen and towels daily]. The hotel being situated on the hill meant that there was no disruption late at night, but would not recommend it to anyone with walking difficults or the like.
The hotel staff were all very frindly, greeting you anytime off day. The food was okay but not varied enough, also as a family hotel I thought they would have a childrens menu.
The entertainment was basicly for the children, maybe they could give the adults alittle entertainment a couple a nights of week.

Hotel was very clean, we stayed in a family room, plenty of room, air con, fridge, tv, 2 toilets. Food was ok, kids options were a little limited, but overall, it was ok.
Plenty of choice with the pools, something for everyone, bar service was good. Poolside drinks were self-service, so not queing for soft drinks. The entertainment was quite poor, all done by the animation team, would like to have seen different artists brought in. The only drawback was the big hill, no good for the less mobile. Got harder as the week went on.
Well worth making the effort to get down to Star Beach, kids loved it.
Definately visit Hersonissos again.

Just come back from the Royal Belvedere. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The only problem is the hill leading up to hotel.
The rooms were a good size and very clean. Towels were changed every day and the room cleaned. We had a brilliant sea view from our room. The choice of snacks through the day was limited, but you helped yourself to soft drinks which was good. The food in the restaurant was ok, plenty of salads to choose from. The hot food was a little repetitive, but not too bad. You also helped yourself to drinks. There was wine, beer and soft drinks available.
All the staff were friendly and helpful, they loved our 3 year old. The pools at the hotel are very good, one for everyone. The kiddies pool was excellent with mini slides for the little ones.
We didn't see much of the entertainment at night, joined in with a few activities during the day. The kids club was from 4 years, so our little one was too young, but they had cocktail games on an afternoon which he joined in. On the last day there was a room available for a shower, but you had to book it. We booked it the night before.
We will definitely be going back to this hotel in the future.

The Royal Belvedere in Hersonissos is great for families. To start the room we had was a superior family room which was more than adequate for two adults and 3 children. The room was cleaned on a daily basis, with clean linen and towels everyday also. There was a TV and a fridge in the room. The air-conditioning was exceptional - it was operated via remote control and you could even choose the temperature.
The pools in the hotel are brilliant - from the fantastic olympic size pool down the the toddler pools - there's one to suit any swimmer.
There are two playgrounds for the children and these did not get too hot during the day.
The location is the hotel is great. Just a 5 minute walk down the hill and you come to the Star Beach water park. Just a 10 minute walk and you reach the resort centre. Then just a 10 minute walk up the hill and there's old Hersonissos (lovely tavernas and traditional greek village).
The food at the hotel was exceptional, beautiful salads and plenty of variety. The sweets and absolutely lovely and always plenty of fresh fruit.
You don't have to sit at the same table each evening for your meal and the drinks are self service, so no waiting around and being nice to waiters.
The snack bar is more than adequate serving chips, pizza, toasties and drinks.
There is a kids club for ages 4 - 12, but we didn't use it because our twins are only 3. Our 10 year old was more than happy in the pool and didn't feel the need for a club.
We did not stick around for the entertainment so I can't say much. Only that it is the animation team who entertain you.
You can also use all the facilities at the Imperial Belvedere - pools, restaurant, snack bar, indoor pool, etc.
To eat out in the resort is really cheap. Car hire is cheap and taxis are cheap.
All in all a great family holiday. No complaints.

Hotel food was very varied catering for all tastes including traditional Cretan dishes to Western Europe tastes. Also snack bars available throughout the day for toasties/pizza etc and the all inclusive beer/soft drinks.
Wanted a week away somewhere to relax and was an ideal location. Staff donot pester you to join in things you do not want to but are always able to assist if you require anything to be arranged.
Perfect location for touring Crete and getting into Heraklion or Samaria Gorge.
A lot of Germans and French couples and families and very few English which makes for an enjoyable holiday, the water may not be hot enough for "proper tea" but in high temperatures who wants to drink tea?

This was a sham to start off with. We booked 2 rooms and they tried to cram all us 4 adults in 1 room when we paid for 2. Then it was on the back of a tip!!!! Eventually after a lot of arguing lo and behold they came up with 2 rooms with sea view like we ordered.
The all inclusive was only 5 choices of drinks, even their own gin or bacardi or vodka THEIR OWN. We had to upgrade. Never been on an all incl where you had to upgrade to different colour bands to get what you want including their own spirits. We all didn
