My wife booked the holiday through the internet as a cheap break that we could afford with three teanagers. When I saw how cheap it was I was convinced that we would be in some sort of dive.
This is not a luxury hotel but for the price I think it gave very good value for money. The rooms are clean and a good size with adequate facilities.
The pool is reasonable and the food was a bit 'canteenish' however there was unlimited amounts and the pasta dishes excellent.
This is not really the sort of hotel you could spend the week by the pool, but as a base to explore the Island it was great.
There is evening entertainment at a neighbouring hotel owned by the same owners but we did not bother.
My only complaint was that noisy guests on a couple of occasions kept us awake, otherwise I would recomend it for a nice inexpensive holiday.

Well, not a bad hotel!
The room we stayed in was large and clean, the whole hotel was quite clean.
The pool was quite small, but clean.
The food was quite good, lots of choice, and mostly Ok.
The staff were friendly, but found they had a lot to do.

Be warned ! I am most certainly not any kind of snob, and I am used to staying at basic accommodation and paying low prices...But this hotel is an insult to anyones intelligence..just because the price may be low,there is absolutely no excuse for sheets and bedding with holes in them..and certainly no excuse for poorly prepared food..they must be laughing at us English mugs who pay hard earned money for what should have been up to standard accommodation and decent food.
I chose on the 1st morning to have breakfast in the Venus restaurant, and to be fair the cooked breakfast was reasonable and edible, but beware the tea and coffee made with the local water because it tastes decidedly salty, probably because 60% of the islands water is sea water which has been desalinated. Watch also the floor in the Venus restaurant which is like a skating rink (wet and greasy)and that is no exageration..highly dangerous ! And now for the evening meal!
The ingredients probably started off as being ok ! but it is what they have done to them. If one was given some good food and told to do their best to mess it up,then this is where these hotels have succeeded big time! The food starts off in their sister hotel across the road hours before and is brought across to the Venus to sit on some bubbling bain Marie's to boil and dry up..need I say more.
On a positive note the staff are very pleasant, but remember not to let this hotel and the resort of Qawra and Bugibba put you off Malta as this is a beautiful island with some great places to visit, and the people are fantastic..
I will return but not to the Venus. You have been warned !

Food poor so we lived on bread rolls or ate out. Food is prepared in kitchen at one side of pool then carried round to other side which I think is dangerous where kids are. We did not have kids with us (thank goodness) but we saw several near accidents and food was spilt at side of pool. Dining room small and uninviting with a small bar inside but very poorly stocked we could not even get a diet coke or fizzy orange there.
No entertainment on site but sister hotel over the road does have some on at night and this was not too bad when we were there.
Room very basic but clean and comfortable.
Staff were friendly enough.

We stayed for 7 days and only ate there three times 1 breakfast and 2 evening meal one on arrival and one the day before we left.
There were flies all over the breakfast cereals and milk the water in the urn to make tea was cold. As for the evening meals I would not have fed them to my dog. The towels and sheets were never changed in the 7 days we were there. The patio doors did not lock there were 2 robberies while we where there, the pool was clean but in need of repair it took 2 days for them to replace the broken toilet seat the lift had no light, the curtains were hanging off the rail, the only cleaning done was to empty bin and make beds.
The air con smelt horrible the fan in ceiling was not fitted correctly to ceiling. Painting whilst we were there and a building site outside our window that started at 6.30am every morning.
The staff rarely smiled they looked really miserable as if they didnt enjoy their work. After eating the evening meal the night before we left we both came home with bad stomachs, so I am logging a complaint with travel agents as this hotel is deffinatly not a 3 star!

Arrived at 4am to find the room was as hot as a sauna. Ceiling fan in one room not working and an old fan was in the room, in the other room the ceiling fan worked but we were so worried about the erratic wobble we bought our own fan.
The floor was filthy and bathroom and bedroom lights were not working, also the hot water taps had seized. It would have helped if the staff had pointed out that the apartment door had a second lock if you inserted the yale key and turned it to the left twice fully to double lock the door. If this had been done we may not have had the apartment broken into wih no more than a kithen knife and our mobile phone stolen.
After speaking to some locals who told us this has happened for years the holiday rep tried to lie by saying it never happens, just check the edge of all the doors in A block. Location was ok apart from the daily fight to get past the time share guy.Staff were ok but very slow. Only had room cleaned twice in the fortnight we were there.
