in all qawra is a clean and pleasant place to stay if not small. plenty of bars and shops around and in bugibba which is walking distance away, however the man made beach is nothing to write home about.
i dont think this resort is particularly geared up for children so do think carefully if planning a familly holiday.
beautiful island, nice people but not for us,

Buggiba has gradually grown over the many years I have been visiting. I still go back. The people make up for any shortfall...

Very different from adjoining buggiba, as it is not to britishised.
However there are timeshare touts that are extremely annoying

We didn't really explore our area that much - we were all-inc and having walked to the sea front, all there seemed to be were more hotels, shops, and bars. And poxy time-share touts!! They didn't push it when we told every one of them we tried to walk past that we were not interested though.

The sea laps onto a lovely rocky 'beach'.. ok if you take a cushion I guess!!

There are some lovely, inexpensive ice cream bars - yummy!!

The man made beach we walked to wasn't sand - it was more like fine gravel, we were told that there was a nice sandy one about 20 minutes away, but we were too hot to be bothered.

Evening entertainment - there seemed to be a few bars with singers, impersonators, karaoke.. the usual stuff. We were boring and sat outside with a drink at our hotel... why buy it elsewhere??

If you go to this area - make sure you book a trip or two, unless you're used to buses, then I'd bus it to a few places; the buses are very very cheap. I wasn't brave enough :-)

Small man made beach looked ok but we are more sightseers than beach babes so did not visit. While we were there they had a wine festival on Buggiba Square, open air stage and entertainment, plenty of wine to try as well.Very good bus links to the rest of the island, although some of the buses are very old and noisy they are extremely cheap.Would definitely visit again.

Buggiba is a lovely freindly place to stay, there is no snobbery and everyone is freindly. Timeshare touts are going around but they were ok when we said we were not interested. There is a small man-made beach area which was clean and adequate if a beach is your thing. Entertainment wise , well there are pubs and bars which have there own, and there is a club called freeze for the music lovers which we enjoyed a couple of nights the music was good. there is also a casino which runs a courtesy bus back to your hotel at night.

Qawra & Bugibba don't really have a beach. There's a smll man-made one which you have to pay for. There's also a "pay leisure area" with pool & sunbeds. Bugibba and the newer Qawra have an array of bars & restaurants to be sampled. Regular buses will take you to Melleiha Bay for a decent sandy beach if that's what you want.

The resort is very clean and i suppose one of the best things in Malta in general is the fact that you are not pestered constantly by touts and timeshare people. That in itself is heaven. Qawra is quite small on its own but it all rolls into one with Bugibba and St Pauls bay. There are a few places along the sea front with entertainment and a great lil ice cream parlour. A lot of the sea front is rocky with little or no beach in places but if you walk a ways towards Bigibba then a beach of sorts, begins. I can not pass comment on this beach as i only ever passed it once and that was at night. In Qawra there is a nice lido complex on the sea front that i expect young children would enjoy very much. Qawra is a bit of a hilly place and our hotel was back up the hill from the sea front. I expect driving could get a bit confusing because a lot of the streets and roads are one way but not having driven i can not properly pass comment. Great little place to eat out is up the hill, called Incognito, it is a pub but the resturant part of it is around the side of the pub. Food very reasonably priced and you get lots of it with free bread and butter and free garlic bread. The bus station is easily found and you can visit just about any destination from it for a cheap price. If you want a fantastic sandy beach with many facilities, i suggest you get the bus number 48 to Mellieha bay, ticket price is 50cents each way and travel time is about 10 - 15 mins and you get some great views along the way too. Nice boat trip from the jetty in Bugibba via the Hornblower boat, all day and takes you to the Blue Lagoon on Comino for 3 hours of swimming at a cost of 5.95 Lira.

The resort we stayed in was Qawra a small very clean resort with a few shops bars and restaurants. However it was only about one mile to Bigeba in the next village where there many shops, bars and night spots.

There is a very small beach close to the hotel and lovely areas to sit along the promanarde of which you can walk for a couple of miles to the next village. It is so beautiful , I wish I was back there, My heaven on earth ""
