This was my second visit to this hotel but my first with all the family. I was a bit apprehensive about the hotel not suiting everyone as there was an age range from 68 to 9 years.

I need not have worried because everyone thoroughly enjoyed it and would love to go back again.

The hotel is situated in the quiet area of playa Las Americas called Costa Adeje. Although quiet, there is a lot going on nearby.

There is a twice weekly market about 200yds away. Also a lovely marina, beaches, restuarants and shopping precincts close by. The hotel has a lift that takes you down to the promenade.

The staff were without exception very friendly and very well presented. All the women in my party were attracted to the hansome and polite waiters.

The rooms were clean and tidy with air con. The food was very good with show cooking, but a bit lacking in choice at times but there was always something that you fancied.

There are two medium sized pools, one of which is heated. Pool towels are provided along with soft covers for the sun beds. My only slight complaint would be to few parasols.

The entertain has to cater for all nationalities so I personaly thought it was good with several excellent groups especially the Beetles tribute band.

All in all worth its 4 star rating, a little tip if you want the Thomson Platinum service(read brochure)but pay less, book with Portland you get exactly the same service.

After our holiday 2 years ago we decided to try it out again at Easter. We weren't disappointed.

The refurbishment of the left wing is finished but unfortunately we weren't put there! Our room was clean with nothing to complain about but it was rather dated and if you went to bed early (which we only did the once) the noise from the piano bar below was annoying.

This sounds negative but the hotel still offers superb public areas and the food was excellent. We walked into PDLA in 30 minutes making it the perfect location. The entertainment was still poor but the bar was packed every night so it must appeal to some.

All sunbeds and umbrellas are new but unfortunately it's still "sunbeds at dawn". I agree with a previous post, it rightly deserves a 4 star rating but certainly not Platinum. (The Platinum check in service, however, was superb - no suitcases at the airport, straight through to the departure lounge)

We booked a short break of 3 nights at this hotel for 175 pounds. Found the hotel clean, we did have a problem with a leaking toilet and this was sorted out straightaway.

The food was great, so much choice and the meat and fish were cooked as you wanted it. We never had to queue for meals and the hotel was full. Did find the drinks more expensive than outside, but not too expensive.

The location was great, overlooking the beach promenade and lifts from the swimming pool area took you down, this is closed at 6.00pm in the winter, so you have to walk up a slight incline to the front of the hotel.

The swimming pool area was lovely, there were 2 pools separated by a bridge, one was warmer than the other and a children

Does not deserve the 4 Star Status, dated & dirty to the point of not caring, I found most of the staff pleasant except for the reception who were undoubtedly rude and fending attacks which were really for the manager to deal with!

However the bar staff are great and the food and restaurant was good.

The hotel chain should sack the manager, re-furbish the tired rooms, re-train reception staff in customer relations and show the chambermaids how to use a broom and a mop.

My fiance and I travelled to this hotel last August, we arrived on the third for two weeks, some of the reception staff were quite rude the food was ok but by the second week was quite repetative, We were on the 1st floor at the side which was next to a road but not too noisy. We did however suffer from an investation of ants all over the balcony and into the room as far as the bed this took four days before anyone from reception came to sort it out. The pool area was ok but as we went at peak time the water was very murky, too much suncream I think, and having to get up at 6:00am to put the towels out really annoyed me as once I got underessed and back to sleep again it was time to get up for breakfast. I think if we had gone at a different time of year i.e. not factory fortnight we would have had quite a different opinion but as far as this hotel goes it was definatly not value for money.

The location was good as you could walk into Las Americas and it was only about 6 euros to get a taxi back at the end of the night, there is also some really good water sports and an irish bar which was great fun. The place itself is spotless you never see rubbish on the streets its really clean.

We stayed at this hotel the last two weeks of August and had an excellent holiday. The location of the hotel is first class overlooking the promenade which is full of restaurants, bars and shops, and also a very nice beach. The hotel room was spacious and air conditioning a must in the hot weather we did not ask for a sea view but got one anyway. We stayed on the top floor on the right hand side of the hotel which gave us magnificent views over the beach, sea and promenade.

The dining room and food was excellent with a wide variety of food to suit everyone there was always pleanty of choice the only criticism I had that there was not a lot of choice of childrens food. We only had to queue for mins but that was mainly at breakfast if you wanted omlettes/fried eggs but that was only a min or so. The best time we found was to come down to dinner at about 8.00 - 8.15 and we never had to wait to be seated for dinner at this time.

We always found whatever time we went out to sunbathe which was usually late morning we could get a sunbed and even if you could'nt get a brolly you could go up on the top terrace (which was quieter) and be able to get under the shaded area. Even though we went at a busy time the pool was never overcrowded but obviously there was a lot of children about. Beware of the slippery surfaces in and around the pool when you first go into the pool.

We will definitely be staying at this hotel again but we will probably stay when the schools are not on holiday. Cannot comment on the entertainment as we always went out every night. Hotel drinks are a bit pricy but I think you can expect that in most hotels. All in all a first class hotel much nicer than its sister hotel the Bhia Princess which is classed as a 5*

On arrival at 22:00 hours the reception staff were abrupt and we were given a room key and left to our own devices. The room was Ok but you had to shut the bathroom door to gain access to the toilet. Getting a sunbed was no problem at any time of the day and the hotel was full at the time. People were getting up early to put towels on the sunbeds in "prime" locations. The staff in the restaurant and bars were generally abrupt but they were extremely busy because they were understaffed. The food was not that good with very little variety or imagination (we stayed at the Maspolomas Princess last year and the food was superb). The Bahia Princess which is next door looks far superior to this now jaded hotel.

On arrival to the hotel I found the reception staff quite abrupt, and that's the way it stayed each time I had to enquire about something.

The room we had was on the 2nd floor overlooking the sea, it was very spacious and the balcony was a good size. We had the Sofa bed and the children had the single beds. The Sofa bed was very uncomfortable and by the end of the week both myself and my husband were not getting a good nights sleep.

In keeping the children amused I cannot fault the hotel, the kids entertainment staff were excellent, they work so hard. My daughter is 11 and had the time of her life. The food was ok but if we were to stay for 2 weeks I know we would have got bored. If you want to get a sunbed round the pool you have to put your towels out by 7am!! Lots of people complained but I think that's just the way it is at this hotel. I'm not a smoker and I found it quite irratating that there were no ashtrays by the sunbeds so there were loads of "fag butts" scattered around.

The evening entertainment was good, especially when it was the hotel staff perfoming. Drinks are very expensive in the hotel and it does make you a bit sick when you can walk outside and get the same drink for about 4 Euros cheaper but it was more convenient for us to stay in the hotel.

If we were to go back to this hotel it would be because it is very good for the kids.
