We were most impressed with Roquetas de mar Golf Centre apartments.

The facillities are excellent from the kitchen to the bathroom with everything you need.

A well stocked supermarket is a 10minute walk from the apartment.

We ate in the Golf centre restaurant which was very reasonable and most enjoyable.

Staff were friendly and very helpful.

Entertainment was good if you like karaoke, or we enjoyed listening to the Spanish group a couple of nights.

Or a short walk into the resort brings you to very welcoming bars, the 'M25' English bar being one of them.

The swimming pool is excellent and well maintained with reasonably priced sunbeds.

We would definitely like to visit this place again and would recommend it for an enjoyable relaxing holiday.

The room we were allocated was really awful, from the standard of cleanliness to the very old and very scruffy furnishings which we did not feel we could use

I have stayed in many hotels in Almeria and have never seen accommodation like this

I really would not recommend this complex to anyone as there were many guests complaining about the standard which was clearly not acceptable

We all felt the place should be closed down and totally refurbished

We left within the hour and managed to find another hotel in the resort

We went on a family holiday and on a budget, we weren't expecting the Ritz and we were still pleasantly surprised.

Yeah it is a but run down but I have stayed in worse and thought the complex was really nice and had a really nice feel about it also.

Our apartment was and one-up overlooking the golf course and couldn't have picked a better spot, we had privacy and a good wind came in and air con wasn't totally missed, although it still would have been handy.

Our towels and sheets were changed 3 times and our room was cleaned twice in the two weeks we were there and had no complaints.

We loved the pool, our son thought it was the best thing ever, and the best part was it was never over busy. Yeah you had to pay for the sunbeds but my mum stayed in a five star hotel at the beach and they got free sunbeds but there wasn't enough space between most of them to walk through, I prefer a little bit of distance between me and the next person when sunbathing, I suppose you can't have it all.

We ate in the restaurant a few times and the food was lovely and was not too pricey, however the drinks were a bit more than we expected.

The location for some will feel out the way with a bit of a walk to the nearest shop, but for us it was ideal, it was far away enough for some peace but near enough to the beach, bars and restaurants.

We are a couple in our 20s so the daily walk to the shop to pick up supplies was no problem (even for our son) and the large market is only a short taxi journey away so if you really want to stock up there is always that option.

We found the hotel staff to be helpful and friendly and patient with the kids.

The only thing that we felt let down about in the hotel was the entertainment, or lack of, it was karaoke karaoke or karaoke and for the kids 1 pool table and a couple of video games. If they put on some good kid and adult entertainment I feel more of the guest would stay in the hotel more.

We loved the hotel that much we have already booked up again for next July!

The golf centre apartments are a good stay if youre on a budget. We stayed there for 8 days and the room was cleaned once. We gave them an exception on this as it was a bank holiday in Spain, but when the room was cleaned we still ended up with the same towels, sheets etc.

Only one of the 2 pools was open, but the 1 open was in good condition and was clean. You're charged for the sunbeds which is a bit cheeky but its a pound a day so nothing to really take the mick.

A lot of rooms have a view over the golf course which makes a nice change to the norm. The only real down side to the apartments which are a good size are the beds. If you have a back problem it will be even worse on leaving.

The resort itself is a good mix of Spanish and English. If you expecting Benidorm this isnt for you. There are a few English bars on the main road which do the normal burgers, nuggets, sausage n chips meals as well as tapas bars, steakhouse pizzaria.

Happy days on the main road is excellent for drinks as its 2 for 1 on beers and spirits all day and night, and has all your sporting events. Unlike some of the English bars on the street, your made to feel welcome by Robert and Carol even if you have kids with you.

A good holiday was had by all while we where there and are retuning in September but may have another think about staying in the golf centre.

We have stayed at the Golf Centre on 7 occassions (as I play golf!). The complex could now do with total reburbishment as it has become a bit jaded. Improvements are needed - including the opening of a small gym; as the dhops are 1000m away it would be useful for the Bar to sell water and fresh milk so you do not have trudge daily like a pack horse; also air conditioning should be installed; and finally the entertainment is useless either improve it or get rid of it altogether.

The rooms are standard fair for 2 star, clean and comfortable. The staff are all very good.

Stayed here in June 2005. Looked lovely on arrival whitewashed Spanish low rise buildings, beautiful flowers lovely colours.

Room basic, no air con, cooking facilities poor.

Too far to shops and to carry goods back so ate out all the time nothing in the fridge but a light and some frost.

Pool area fantastic, standing on the bridge in the moonlight romantic.....

Entertainment non existent. Met a great couple from Kilmarnock from then on had a fantastic time.

Staff friendly.

Almeria very busy with flies in summer they are everwhere...weather fantastic

We stayed at the Golf Centre apartments, and the flies were unbearable. Being next to the well watered golf course didn't help, and standing water was very evident. In fact, probably due to the different species of fly, I contracted cellulitis and was off work for 18 months.

The apartments weren't bad, just miles to go for the shops, and further for eating out. We had to empty our own bins.

I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

We had a self catering apartment which was fairly large but in desperate need of refurbishment, loose tiles, 2 of the gas rings didn't work, no kettle. Sheets and towels were changed only once in the week we were there and no cleaning was done. There is no bin emptying service, you have to take your bin bags to the tidybins behind reception yourself. No air conditioning. The reception and bar staff were very helpful and spoke good English.

The complex is in the middle of a golf course which is watered frequently, leaving standing water in places. This attracts mosquitoes. To sit outside the bar in the evening means being eaten alive! Entertainment consists of karaoke most evenings and a singer twice a week until midnight, when karaoke starts again!
