Omg what can I say after reading all of the reports from people. I agree with Jessica we made friends with the entertainment too like mourad, Jojo, insaf, Sam, madou, mak, naggui, chagui and DJ Tommy they were amazing and very friendly very good dancers

The hotel itself was very clean and the food was nice with some English dishes and Tunisian

Camel man Latif was very nice I went on his trips 2 on the camels and on his horses his brother Walid was also very kind and the quads were fun

I got annoyed with the man selling nuts and when you walk by he would say Oo lala or Claudia Shiva if you were blonde

Most of all I miss Jojo he was awesome and gave me some of his aftershave to take home

I would definitely go to this hotel again I met some lovely people and everyone was friendly and the animation team was wicked and were up for a laugh and sometimes let you chuck them in the pool.

I fell in love with this hotel from day 1. We arrived at 11pm on the Sunday night and the hotel staff were extremely welcoming even though it was quiet late.

We went over to the bar and had a snack. All the drinks I drank while I was there were lovely and the food was really good for self-service. I was extremely surprised with the quality of things that people had said were rubbish.

The entertainment was brilliant and I loved the animation staff espically Sam, who was so lovely to me the whole time I was there. They provided fun entertainment during the day which included water polo and belly dancing all gthe way through to arabic lessons held by Jojo who was perfect for the job.

I have never made so many friends in one holiday and will miss everyone so much. One last thing- the bar staff are amazing!! :)

We arrived about 11-15 p.m, had a few drinks then went to our rooms.

The staff were very friendly and loved all young children. Tipping is a way of life in Tunisia, but your money goes a long way.

The animation team work very hard to keep everyone entertained especially the children, who love them.

The food after a week of it becomes a little boring but it is plentiful and well cooked, but as a family we ate out a couple of times which was inexpensive.

Tried the camels enjoyed the experience.

The beach was clean, the sea was warm and there are plenty of sunbeds there. The only drawback on the beach were the people coming round selling anything from sugared nuts, pottery, cigs and tortoises, just say no and they normally go away.

The only problem around the hotel and the pool area was flies.

On the whole we had a pretty good time but probably would not go back to this hotel.

It never ceases to amaze me on reading some of these opinions, how some people (no names mentioned) are quite happy to pay Three Star prices, and then moan and groan because they didn't get a Five Star experience! As an independent travel writer, I've visited the Dar Khayam on six occasions from 1990 to 2005. Why on earth people should complain about drinking beer with a two-inch head on it in an all-inclusive package deal is frankly beyond me. Given that you can go to the bar as many times as you want for free, one is hardly being short changed!

Would-be tourists should be reminded that Tunisia is officially, still classed as a Third World Country. It's ridiculous therefore, to expect the same standards one might expect from a package holiday in Spain or Portugal or anywhere else in mainland Europe.

The Dar Khayam is clean, fairly basic, but comfortable. The food in the restaurant tends to concentrate on Tunisian dishes, but still with (albeit limited) "British" options (if you want bacon egg and beans for breakfast, go to Blackpool!) That said, the food served could only ever be desribed as acceptable. The hotel is right on a fine sandy beach (via a short level walk through beautiful gardens). Yes the furnishings in the rooms ARE dated in the Dar Khayam. Of that there is no doubt. But rooms are cleaned to a good standard daily, and whilst dated, the furniture is functional and well-maintained. There is a large and well maintained pool and pool area. The outdoor snack area (considering packages are sold as "all-inclusive") is very poor. If you want lots of night life and drinking in so-called British style pubs", forget it. In fact if you want to drink your way through a holiday, forget Tunisia altogether. It is after all a Muslim country. Aside from the snack area and the entertainment, I personally feel the Dar Khayam is worth every one of it's Three Stars. No more and no less!

We had booked in January & requested pool/sea view but when we arrived we were given a view of main road and restuarants but we complained & were moved to a room with partial sea view.

The food was nothing to write home about & at times only luke warm but complaining to the rep was no good as she only insisted all food was upto standard & could show us the figures (we all know figures can say what the want) but that didnt explain by why almost everyone you spoke to had been ill.

The hotel is nearer Nebeul rather than Hammament and the resort itself if quite dirty.

I would visit Tunisia again but certainly not this hotel or Hammamet.

Worst all inclusive hotel I have ever been to, the food was cold, repetative, leftovers where heated up and served again for the next meal.

Couldn't even get a cheese sandwich for evening meal. Eat out for the second week. No enterainment of a night every night the same as the first. When complaining to sunset reps they weren't interested in listening.

If this is a three star hotel I would hate to see lower ones. Would not return to the country never mind the hotel.

When we arrived at the hotel my first impresions was very good people smiling and having a good time with in the first ten minutes of being there I already loved it.

We got are bands then are keys and set off to our hotel rooms we had 2 hotel rooms and each room was split in to 2 rooms and we had a bathroom between 2 of us.

A few days later I got used to the food and the other people there as well the bar staff was realy friendly and always had a joke and a laugh with us there.

I mostly loved how the beach was just down a path and how they had a huge outside pool a huge indoor pool and an little pool for little toddlers and children.

The entertainment was brilliant and so funny by the end of the 2 weeks stay there we knew all the entetainment staffs names and we talked to them and enjoyed what they were doing for us to all the staff at the hotel dar khayam staff in Hammamett Tunisia.

The room we were initially given was clean, basic and adequate for two but as there was three of us to share it was far too small.

Bedside cabinets were piled up and we couldnt open either the balcony door or the wardrobe door without moving the beds. After complaining to the rep (not a bit of use) reception moved us to better room after 2 days.

This room was again clean but basic and although it did have air conditioning it wasnt brilliant. The food was good with a varied menu but queueing was a bit af a problem and the restaurant regularly ran out of cups and glasses and there appears to be a shortage of spoons in Tunisia!

The hotel is a 4 dinar ride out of the town and taxis have to be experienced to be believed! The beach is excellent, very clean and safe.

Reception staff are not helpful but the cleaners and restaurant staff are lovely. The entertainment team are amazing. Absolutely brilliant at keeping the kids (and some adults)occupied with everything from archery to volleyball.

The pool is clean but the surrounds are very slippery and there was more than one accident during our stay.

Although we enjoyed our stay it is not somewhere we would visit again; a bit too busy for us.

Oh my god! I have never met such lovley people, every body is so nice and it feels like you know every one there as they are so friendly!

I had such an amazing time here and I will never forget about it. Tunisia was my first proper holiday and i was very impressed. The sea looks gorgeous sparkling in the sun and it is so clear that you can see the fish swiming past your feet!

One of the best things there was the bannana boat, it was so fun and i would recommened it to any one it was great! quad biking was good too and the camel and horse riding! the staff are all very kind, the entertainers were fab though, we made friends with most of them almost straight away! Sam, Midou, mourad, jojo, latif and walid your all fab!

Tunisia has definitely been one of the best experiances of my life!

When we booked our hols I never thought much more about it as it looked basic but good in the brochure. The main attraction being all inclusive and good for the kids as if the kids are happy then I am.

It is a 3 star hotel it certainly felt like a 4 at least.

On arrival we were disappointed to be placed at the back of the hotel 3 floors up with myself and 3 children and my friend Christine and her 2 children was one hell of a hike even the guy carrying the cases was tired by the time we reached our room and my youngest was 1 1/2 and still in a buggy. I went along to reception to enquire about a ground floor room which they found us after 2 days.

The food plentiful (I put on 1 stone)so much of it and the children felt so grown up going for their own food at 7 and 4 they thought this was great.

Only 1 problem ants in our pants literally as we were next to the beach 300yds away we were besieged by ants. We reported this but I think with Tunisia being a third world country it wasn't really a problem to them but they did try to sort it for us, my youngest Nathan kept running off the staff were great as were the rest of the holiday makers.

The staff were great the bar staff although Tunisian you could still have a laugh with them, the animation staff "BRILLIANT" the children loved Sam as Sam loved all the children. Comparing the real experience with the brochure you have to go there I would any day.

Did I say there was 1 problem no there was 2 the second one being we had to come home we made so many friends and had a real good laugh we certainly got our moneys worth I could go on but really you had to be there.
