We have just returned from the Alba Resort Hotel in colakli near Side.
The hotel is excellent the grounds are huge very clean and well cared for. There are lots of birds, chickens, pelicans, flamingos and others, also goats and rabbits in the mini zoo. All are clean well fed and cared for. Children would love it here.but as it was out of season it was better for us because there were hardly any children and specially not the horrendous British ones.
The hotel grounds run down to the beach which is good fine sand and spotless.
The only people who will not like the food are the junk food addicts, no burgers, fry ups, or fast food, lots of salads, fresh veg and healthy home cooked stuff. If you like beans and chips you will starve.
Entertainment was as good as it can be in an international hotel. Lots of Germans which if you are prepared to speak(sign and smile) are friendly and polite.
The eclipse is now due and hotel is full but there was ample sunbeds at 10am when we emerged and they bought more out during the day so no need to save a place

When we first got to this hotel we thought we were out in the sticks but for 99 pound each we couldnt complain!!
But were we wrong the hotel itself was lovely, we were on a top floor room with a view over the pool with 2 balconies, one in the living/kitchen area and one in our bedroom which was very nice!
The hotel has two parts really one side of it is the old building and one the new whci we satyed in, we later found out the hotel was going to be knocking down the old bit to make it the same as our side which will be lovely, as well they were plannin to build a night club downstairs too.
The hotel was spotless and I was very impressed as I thought in turkey it wouldn't be!
We were bed and breakfast but we didnt have breakfast, we never got up in time ha ha! But the food that was served was to die for!
I never normally eat english abroad as like to try different things but the chip butties was lovely the best and the evening meals were lovely too.
Do try the pot kebab it comes out on fire in a pot and you can have chicken or beef it is beautiful!! Only 40 lira for that plus salad, chips, rice everything a very good value for money.
But the hotel staff were the best, very friendly always there to help, having a joke with you completly wonderful people not how expected turkish to be at all!
They loved everyone and would put you at ease quickly and never if I sat alone while my boyfriend went to the shop or something, being a women I never felt uneasy at all it was wonderful!
There wasn't alot of entertainment as such, the staff were entertainment themselves being so nice they did have a Turksh night which we didn't go to but we saw abit of it do try it if you go wished we had!!
The location of the hotel isnt really that far form side town we justed to get a taxi to side as so cheap only 5 lira but you could walk it in 20 mins really, again the beach is closer to the hotel that side town.
There is a mosque very close to the hotel DONT LET THIS PUT YOU OFF we're not into history or culture really but this was amazing to look at.
You do hear the callings at different times of day to call people in to pray but when u hear it for the first time you think oh no I'll wake up when that comes on.. but honest you dont you completly block it out!!!
SO PLEASE DONT LET THAT PUT YOU OFF THIS HOTEL!!
would definatly go back well we're planning to go in september again!
Do try it its wonderful our best holiday so far!!!!!!!
