we were situated in fenals just outside of lloret de mar. there were plenty of places to eat in fenals, would reccomend roxys where the food was lovely (and cheap), they bring children a surprise after they have eaten, also hungry horse where they bring out paper and felt-tips for
the children to use.
we didn't really mind that the beaches both in fenals and lloret de mar were shingle. but neither were safe for children. both have a deep slope in the sea and get deep very quickly.
we had not been to lloret before and were worried that it would be very "egg and chips", abit like margate with sun, and it wasn,t. the old town has rows of little streets that criss-cross each other and they are full of shops, although they do sell the same old thing, (football shirts etc).
we would visit costa brava again as we went past blanes on the bus and thought it looked very nice there.

Resort was ok. Very dirty around the streets. People tourists and locals extemely rude and will gladly push you out of the way in the middle of the street or any of the bars. Clubs and bars expensive for spain and people outside the clubs and bars trying to get you to come in say buy one drink for entry once you do this and que up you pay at least €20 for ONE night there and get one drink with this, once you get the bar there is only selected drinks even though you have paid for it.

I prefer Fanals to Lloret during the day it is more picturesque, but Lloret is bouncing at night

The resort of Lloret de Mar is very busy working town, and has a very busy main road that runs through it. There is a very large supermarket just outside the hotel where you can buy absolutly anything.
The entertainment in the centre of Lloret was geared towards the 18 to 30 crowd,and couples, there was not a lot to do if you have small children. There are lots of places to eat, and drink, and would like to recomend "Snack Bar Dani", all the food is home made on the premisis,(there homemade stake pies are to die for),and a meal for 4 with drinks never came to more than 30euros, and the staff were so friendly.
The beach is very clean,and about a 15 minute walk from the hotel.
I would visit this resort again.

Pool area big with pleanty of sunbeds never had a problem getting one staff do remove towels if unattended for a while bar and toilets always clean and staff very friendly.
Fenels quieter than llorett its self but a lot cleaner.
Hungrey horse is an excellent place to eat great with the kids also the american bar going down towards the beach.
In llorett itself try thr orient express its on the side opposite the beach excellant food especially the chicken baguettes.
Resort entertainers excellant fun we met phil the boss 3 years ago on another holiday and hes not changed a bit even remembered us and made us feel welcome but they are all friendly and funny .

Lloret is a very nice resort especially Fenals Beach which is not so crowded. Nice waterpark nearby. Plenty of shops and places to eat. No timeshare touts!! One hour drive from Barcelona which is well worth a visit.

Quite a distance from the resort centre, and if you've got children it's a nightmare, either very hilly or the long route is on a busy main road.
The beach was a nightmare, shingle no sand, and the beds are very expensive. Also the sea was not suitable for children went very deep without warning very quickly.
Some nice bars and resturants where you can eat food that doesn't consist of week old pasta, and vile gravy with very strange bits in
All in all the resort would have been lovely, however I could not return due to the hotel, it really was that bad.

loret de mar itself had loads of bars lovely beaches and pleanty of cheap places to eat. and the hungry horse was brilliant with chilldren made you feel very welcome. further up in loret was a lovely beach lots af shops i loved the macdonalds there. the scenery from the beach was fantastic. loads to do and loads of water sports.

Wasn't to keen on Lloret de mar, in fact I hated the busy main road that you have to cross to get to the beach from these apartments.
The beach in the Fenels area was lovely as was the beach in Lloret itself.
Didn't like get pestered when browsing in shops, which all the shopkeepers seem to do now.

It's 11 years since i visited but what a great plce it was.
