OK!!! I'm not one of these sad people who moans 'cos the maid didn't smile or I had a cracked glass in the bathroom. This was far more serious.

If you're easily pleased and happy with a hotel with the ambience, food and aesthetics that just scrapes a 3* standard then this will suit you. On the other hand if I explain that the customer care and service from the management is more in tune with that of a concentration camp then you may want to think again.

I'll sum it up as concise as I can: -
Arrival and Check-in:-
After a long 5 1/2 hour flight (10 Hour total journey) we were hurled off the coach like cattle and summoned to a very warm waiting area within the hotel. We were left stranded by the Reception Manager for over an hour with no means of knowing what the check in protocol was, not knowing where any facillities were (toilets etc) and left with no means of refreshments. Given this was 23.00hrs, 24 guests were NOT happy. We eventually signed our lives away, relinquished our passports and were finally given our room keys around midnight. At least we weren't as unhappy as the 14 people that were overbooked and asked to share rooms despite being strangers. Our baggage was taken to our room and left unattended outside the door in the main corridor. (What a start!!!!)

Our stay
The room was average with a view to the east resembling a war zone. Poorly fitting patio doors howled like a hurricane with the lightest of breezes keeping us awake most nights (BUT at least we had a room hey??) The pool and grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The bars are substandard for 5*. Service staff were very good. The food was generally tasteless and very monotonous. Saying that you wouldn't starve at least. the entertainment barely existed and that which did was very poor and extremely amateur.

Check out....... OH gosh this was fun!!!
Our 6.00am alarm call request was ignored despite signing for it. This genuinely almost resulted in us missing the 6.30 Coach to the airport.
During check out, our rooms were searched and checked. I was pulled off the airport departure coach at the request of (wait for it;,, the same Reception Manager that had left us stranded upon check in) He interrogated me about 2 mugs that were apparently no longer in the room. I endured 50 minutes of abuse from him in front of a large audience of guests being accused of losing the mugs. It was then implied I had thieved them and ordered to pay 12 euros and have my luggage taken off the coach to be searched. I naturally refused and I was furious as any innocent person would be. With the upper hand being his due to the time getting on, I had to relent with offering some payment to prevent the coach load of people missing their flights. Oh! and the MTS representative was very un-supportive and useless in this circumstance. HOW APALLING is this for a 5* hotel??

Warning this Hotel overbooks.Arrived at 6pm to be told that the system was down and to go and have dinner. After dinner I was allocated our room. I requested a ground floor room and had paid for an upgrade from the standard room only to find I had been allocated top floor and despite the upgrade I paid for, the room was overlooking a building site and did not have a baloncony, only a small window. When I complaine to reception I was told to return at 2.30pm the next day. So it was narly 24hrs until we wea able to unpack and begin our holiday. Nearly everyone we spoke had to undergo this process. The food was bland and repetitive in all restaurants, with long queus at the live cooking stations. The coffee in all but the Italianm restaurant was awfull. The srvice staff were pretty good if you tipped them but would otherwise ignore you. While the chefs were downright surly and would glare if you asked for a bigger portion. Breakfast was good with plenty on offer. sadly the cold meats cheese atc would not be available at other mealtimes. The sacuces and other accompaniaments were not labeled so you had no idea of what each one was, it could be anything from chilli sauce to rasberry sauce. To sum up, a 5 star hotel with faclitis to match, dragged down to 2 stars by the food and service. will I be going back? Lets say that I have had much more enjoyable stays in 2 star hotels in India.

We got a very good deal for this holiday and had read mixed reviews about it, but went with an open mind, finding a lovely clean hotel right on a private beach.
There are 4 pools, a heated one, the main activity pool, a kids pool and the relaxation pool (spent most of our time here, it was smaller and no reps allowed trying to sell stuff). Also an outdoor hot tub!
Direct access to private beach with a long jetty to walk out to the reef for snorkelling...fantastic amount of tropical fish to be seen. The sand is sharp so aqua shoes definitely recommended. All the sunloungers have matresses..very comfortable!
The food was wonderful...such choice!
Service from the cleaners to the bar staff was excellent. We had been told about tipping, we took

stayed at the Albatros Moderna in July'08 and like it so much we went back in July'09. the staff are great - especially Sharky, who works constantly to keep everybody happy. Food is good - plenty of choice - too much in fact - need to learn to stop looking and go and eat dinner before it gets cold! lol. asked for a room in a similar area to the previous year but when we couldn't get one, were upgraded to a suite which was fantastic. A few gripes - the entertainment was the same programme as the previous year and a bit cheesy. getting a bed by the pool got a bit silly - we took turns getting up early to put the towels out - if you can't beat them joint them! No courtacy room on the last day to shower and change - but friends offered their room to us so it was no problem. All in all a great hotel - we're booked again for this July. Just hope they've changed the entertainment programme this year! See you in July sharky.

royal albatros moderna nice bar staff and very clean i must say top mark for the cleaning they work very hard. we left them very nice tip. but food was ok you chould all ways find some thing to eat.
pool side for kids great but we used the heated pool the most that ent as good as the main pool. but we was told that the main pool is going be heated as well cos no one was using it.
would i stay here again no it was hotle that u would said more off a 3* but not a 5* if you can get it on the cheep for last min holiday then great but i would not pay full price stay here. one thing keep in mind they are very slow if anything breaks like shower door key they will take half a day to fit it and you find you are all ways waiting around for them. like suit cases they dont rush to bring them you or take them away when you are leaving the hotle.
we got moved the morning after getting to the hotle they had but 2 cots in our room for my 1year and my 5year old where 5year would not fit in a cot and they should had bed ready. they said they needed move us to the family room but we have wait till tomorrow moring at 1pm. i think they was waiting for other people to leave that money so they could give us there room. so was little cross on our first night having my 5 year old in the middle off our bed.
we did alot traveling here so we dint have stay in the hotle that much so may be thats good thing . let you all make your own minds up

Stayed at the Royal Albastros Moderna in January. Cannot understand the moaners at all. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and cannot fault anything - food excellent and always hot with plenty of choice - cleanliness 1st class - staff very helpful. We had no stomach upsets but adhered to advice and did not use the tap water of have ice in our drinks. Our room was spacious, very clean and about 10 metres from the main pool.
Do not expect to find night life or many shops outside the hotel - if you want this get the courtesty bus to Naama Bay.
If you just want to chill this is an excellent hotel.
Would return but as it is a big world would prefer to try another hotel.

I enjoyed my stay here and would go again. We stayed over christmas and new year and was brill. The waiters and staff can not do enough for you, they are lovely people. If i had to fault hotel it would be for the entertainment. In my opinion this hotel is for familys and couples. I would recommend this hotel.
