This hotel is special because of its attractive setting with a lovely central terrace area around the pool and a variety of facilities for a great family holiday. While kids have fun and play games at the children's club, parents can enjoy a refreshments by the pool.

Just got back from 2 weeks at this great hotel. The exotica is in a very central position about five minutes from beach and about 1 minute from main strip.

Linen and towels changed daily also rooms cleaned 6 times a week, breakfast was a choice of scrambled eggs, beans, toast, cerials, fried slice, boiled eggs, yogurt and honey, tea, coffee and fruit juices apparently this was a lot more than other hotels offered on a b&b basis.

Air con was availiable for a charge of 70 euros for 2 weeks(

Booked a last minute break 9th August, first time to
greece. Hotel Exotica was had basic rooms, but very clean. Entertainment was spot on. They looked after
the kids wonderfully and most kids where sad to go home. My only gripe is for a family hotel, they should
not allow topless bathing round the pool and in it!!
Full of overweight women doing waterpollo topless
what a sight!!!!
Apart from that it was a lovely break and the reps
do everything to make your holiday memorable.
I would certainly book a Thomson Superfamily Holiday
again.

The Hotel Exotica was great - exactly as we hoped it to be and in some ways better! Our room (210) was on the ground floor with a balcony facing the pool and bar. The room was small (as expected) with an optional fridge (5 euros per day) and optional air con (5 euros per day) - we needed the a/c especially at night as the temperatures stayed high. The ceiling fan helped but was not enough during the especially hot nights. The kids had a bunk bed and we had two single beds pushed together - it worked fine for us all.

'Help yourself' Breakfast (eat as much as you like!) was fine - a daily spread of Tea& Coffee, fruit juices, kid friendly cereal (6 types), bread / toast with jams and cheese / ham, scrambled egg, yoghurt & honey and sometimes porridge, boiled eggs, sausages and croissants. The milk takes a bit of getting used to, but you expect that don't you?!

The pool was great - deep by the main 'get-in' but our kids (3&6) were fine when using floatation aids. The current reps are great - Joff does all the entertainment and although he could do with a bit of extra help at times (moral support as much as anything!) he did a great job. There's water polo, pool table competitions, 5-a-side football, quizes and lots more.

The evening entertainment was great for the kids and not bad for the adults either! The best way to enjoy it is to get well stuck in - like i did!!! The kids were well looked after by the kiddie reps (Gemma, Natalie, Lisa, Lynne,

The hotel is pretty from the outside with a basic reception area leading to rooms and pool. The bedroom itself was of a fine size for two, but bathroom was a bit pokey. We found the daytime poolside entertainment irritating but this is aimed at the families and they seemed to enjoy that.

I was shocked that it cost

We stayed at the Exotica for 2 weeks, 1st time in Greece so we were not familiar with the poor accomodation standards which are expected there. Accomodation was too crampt for 2 adults; 2 kids and to hire the much needed air conditioning and fridge we were charged 10 euros p/day. The hotel was exceptionally clean with room service daiy however no matress protectors and the decor was very drab. A deposit was required for a kettle / cups. The hotel was in a good quiet location aprox 10 min walk from excellent beach. Food at snack bar was basic but appetising; breakfast was disgusting (watery scrambled eggs/frankfurters at best, no bacon or sausages) drinks were slighty expensive and dont even think about giving your children a snack / icecream from the shop or you'll be told off by staff. Pool area was spacious and great for kids, excellent play park / soft play and large grass areas and top class kids reps who kept the youngsters occupied day and night.

Got a great deal off Teletext for the Exotica. This is a Super Family hotel and our party we all adults, but this did not bother us. The rooms were basic as most Greek hotels but spotlessly clean. Air con and fridges are available to hire(well worth it). The pool area is very nice although there are no pads on the beds which make them a little uncomfortable.Toilets around pool area are constantly cleaned.

Good selection of food for breakfast. Scambled egss, boiled eggs, ham, chees, cereals, jams

Kids seemed to enjoy the entainment, and staff and reps very friendly.

We shall certainly return to this hotel.

the thing about greece and about the british holiday makers is that they class alot of them. We seem to think that everything should be as it is back at home. well it isnt in greece, they strangely enough speak a different language and dont always have aircon. but they are however very nice welcoming people. the hotel exotica i loved every moment of it, being one of the rare people that understand that life is different here. the hotel was clean the pool area lovely, there was games throughout the day that does need audience participation strangely enough. greaT hols thanx

stayed at the exotica 06/06/2003 for two weeks.
nice clean hotel. rooms are nice enough, bathroom size of a broom cupboard. breakfast was good. pool area very nice. hotel drinks are a rip off though, most drinks are double the price of the shop next door. location is ok, plenty of restaurants near by although the beach is a bit of a walk. entertainment is poor , reps usually rely on audience participation and since there is only usually about 10% of the hotel guests there of an evening it gets boring. the two nights entertainers were bought in,one was karaoke, the other bingo. we still had a great holiday at the exotica, just not sure i would rush back there

Myself, my wife and our fourteen year old son stayed at the Exotica in August 2002. This was our third visit to the hotel and our holiday was absolutely superb. The staff are really friendly, and Costa (the boss) is entertaining in a Maffia boss sort of style. He and his wife will try to teach you Greek during your stay, which is great fun. The accommodation is very clean and basic, but you will spend a minimal amount of time in your room. The water pressure is variable so watch out for scalding water in the shower. My advice is to use cold water only. Breakfast is great and far more than you get elsewhere in the resort. The food from the poolside bar is also excellent and you could have something different every day of a two week stay. Kalamaki itself is a very nice resort. No British yobs giving us a bad name. Plenty of restaurants and bars. The chinese restaurant (next door to the leather shop) is really awful. They only take cash, the food tastes below average, we were served by a geordie slapper who ran across the road from the pub to take our order,(her opening line was that she had been on the razz all day!), and it was horrendously expensive. There is a quality Chinese restaurant in the heart of Kalamaki called The Hong Kong. Well worth a try. We ate there three times this year. Taxis are quite reasonable with a five euro minimum charge. Don't try to book a taxi until you actually need it. They don't understand the concept of advanced bookings! Just get the receptionist to order one, and it will be at the hotel in a couple of minutes. Also worth a try for the lads is the Karting circuit about two miles down the Laganas road. Its quite a challenging track, and you get the choice of 200cc or 270cc karts. About 14 euros for ten minutes. Great fun! Finally, I am surprised by some of the other comments on this page regarding the Exotica. When you go to Greece or the Islands, you shouldn't expect palatial bedrooms, electrical socket covers, a kettle in the room, a man to swat bluebottles away for you, and all the comforts we have the privelage of at home. We are guests of the Zakinthians, so lets just become Zakinthian ourselves for a couple of weeks. All in all, it's a fantastic place for a holiday. The people I met at The Exotica this time all agreed that they would come back again, and recommend the hotel to friends.

WE ARRIVED AT THE HOTEL ON 28/06/2002, THERE WHERE 2 ADULTS AND 10 AND 1 YEAR OLD CHILDREN, WE FOUND THE ROOMS FAR TO SMALL WITH 3 SINGLE BEDS + A COT, THERE WAS NO CHILD PROOF COVER'S ON THE ELECTRICAL SOCKETS, WE FOUND THAT THE ROOMS WHERE UNSAFE FOR A CHILD JUST WALKING, THERE IS NO KETTLE IN THE ROOM, NO WAY OF WARMING A BOTTLE BUT IF YOU COMPLAIN THEY WILL GET A MICRO-WAVE OUT, BUT NO BOTTLE WARMER. FOOD CAN BE PURCHASED FROM THE POOL SIDE BAR BUT IS VERY BASIC, THE POOL STEPS ARE IN THE MIDDLE 5FT DEEP SO CHILDREN BEWARE, BUT THEY DO HAVE THERE OWN SMALL PADDLING POOL, THERE IS AIRCON IN THE BREAKFAST ROOM BUT WAS NOT TURNED ON THEY WHERE KIND TO OPEN THE DOORS AND WINDOW EVERY MORNING SO YOU COULD EAT YOUR BREAKFAST WITH THE FLYS, IN OUR OPINION THIS IS NOT FOR CHILDREN UNDER 3 YEARS OLD. IN THE BROCHURE IT SAY'S APARTMENTS READY FOR 2002 BUT DO NOT SEEM TO HAVE BEEN STARTED AS PIC IN BROCHURE IS SAME AS HOTEL.
