The Louis Zante Beach was an absolutely fabulous hotel. The food was second to none and even my very fussy 6 year old enjoyed it. We all ate from the main section although their was a food section specially for the kids - with food such as spaghetti bolognese, burgers, chicken nuggets etc. oops and not forgetting the chips!!!
There was also lager, wine and fruit juices on tap in the dining room.
The whole hotel was light and airy and although looking a little tired in places was kept spotlessly clean.
We stayed in a family room in the main part of the hotel which was plenty big enough for the four of us.
Animation Team-------Very Good.

Just returned from The Louis Zante Beach and have had the best Holiday ever! We have already booked to return next year!!

The hotel is in a Fantastic position, on the outskirts of Laganas, (20 min stroll along the beach and about 1/2 Hour stroll in the opposite direction to Kalamaki)and right on the sandy beach which is shallow enough for children and warm!
The Hotel was very clean and the staff were on the move all day to ensure the hotel and grounds were spotless. A majority of the staff were always ready to help you no matter what especially Leonardo in the hotel bar, always smiling, unlike his partner in crime 'Mr. Happy' who served you no problem but was a bit of a jobsworth.
If you want to shop for anything I would recommend the shop 20yds down the beach on the right as 1 euro for water is expensive when you can get 6 for 1.70 at this shop

The food was fantastic and there was always something tasty to eat. I recommend the Meatballs Mmmmmm. and I went back 3 times for the Lamb. Even on the Greek night there was a barbeque with steak & Chicken. What more can you ask for than Champagne at breakfast

My only Fear in returning here in 2005 is that the Animation team will not live up to the Fantastic team of Paul, Matteo, Kika,Antonella, Oriana & Pietro from this year. They really made the holiday a one to remember. As a team they worked their buts off to ensure you enjoyed yourself, to see the pool cleared on the Lilo Mile was something else!!!

I would not hesitate to recommend this Hotel to anyone

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday at the Louis Zante Beach. The Hotel is in an excellent position immediately on the beach of soft white sand and unbelievably warm shallow waters. The turtles in the bay at this time of year were a bonus.

The hotel was clean and well cared for and the food was very good with plenty of choice. The staff were really friendly and helpful. This is the fourth Louis Hotel we have stayed at and it is definitely the best.

What really made the holiday though was the BRILLIANT ANIMATION TEAM. Paul, Matteo, Pietro, Kika, Antonella and Oriana had us laughing all the time they were 'on duty'. Their antics had to be seen to be believed. They encouraged you to join in but did not push you if you prefered to just watch and enjoy.

We hope that we will be able to go back and feel the warm greek sun on our skins again before the summer is out (or what we call summer in England). We would highly recommend anyone else to visit the hotel.

The hotel was always clean no matter what time of day or night it was. The food in the restaurant was wonderful with plenty of choice even for a two year old not to complain.

The location is ideal about twenty minutes from the airport, and the staff were wonderful and extremely helpful.

The ANIMATION TEAM were absolutely fantastic, the earlier report that says they were rubbish is talking about the team from the year before, Paul and his team were funny beyond a doubt and i will never forget it as long as i live.

We were wary of going to the Louis Zante Beach as all other tour operators (JMC, Thomson etc) said they could not put 5 in a room, but First Choice could and were brilliant, we had plenty of room for two cots (we have 20 month old twins and a 4 year old)although would recommend anyone else going to ask for room in hotel as they are slightly bigger than the garden room's.
Everything at the hotel was superb,in a great position and the staff were fantastic with the kid's, the animation team were good too, especially Matteo (although his water polo needs to improve) obviously they are a better team this year than last according to last years reports.
The food was excellent, although at the end of two weeks it got a bit monotanous.
Look out for Dennis the head barman (great Liverpool supporter)wherever you go he is there, real nice guy and very helpfull. Recommended to anyone.

We were here during Euro 2004, and had a great time. The staff were fantastic, especially the animation team,if they could be guaranteed to be there next year we would definitely go back. Room was spacious, quiet, as we requested. The food was very good. The pool area always clean and very lively. We joined in sometimes, but if you didn't then you could enjoy watching everything else going on.When the football was on in the bars, everyone was friendly, and there was loads of banter between different countries supporters.
Thanks Paul,Matteo,Kika,Antonella,Pietro and Auriela, you made our holiday and left us with great memories.

The good points were the cleanliness of the hotel, the first class maid/room service, constant hot water and entertainment for the children.

Large spacious grounds and the closeness of the beach so that you can get away from the noise of the pool area and simply relax in peace and quiet and the general friendliness of the staff.

The food choice was excellent although the quality was only average.

The bad points were the litter and rubbish on the beach area and the cost of the sunbeds on an all-inclusive? The numerous wild dogs, 14 at one time, and cats that were allowed to roam around the hotel. The restaurant and the grounds unchecked, despite complaints, not quite four star! Most alcohol drinks are local hooch. Having to put used toilet paper into a bin!

Take something for the mosquitoes!

We have just returned from here, 15.08.03 - 29.08.03.
Staff
As with other Louis Hotels, the staff were friendly and would do all they could to ensure your needs were met. This was the majority of the staff, with the exception of Tina at the pool bar.
Management
The General Manager, Makis Christofis went around the hotel checking every area and I mean EVERY area! We even saw him go in the toilets and in the gardens to check that the plants had been watered! Although he is a very quiet man, if approached he is friendly and was very pleased we told him that we had enjoyed our holiday. He gave us his business card and asked us to contact him if we needed anything.
Food
The food was fantastic, lots of choice always English food as well as Greek and other international dishes. We spoke to the main Chef who has also been the Chef at the Louis Imperial in Paphos Cyprus.
Indoor Public Areas
The reception area, lounges inside bar and dining area were well furnished and always spotlessly clean, with a maid constantly going around picking up stray cups plumping cushions and wiping spills. The toilets were always clean and checked hourly by the maids and every 5 minutes by the general manager! (joke) Our main problem with the public areas, was the fact that the air-conditioning was never switched on and we had to ask for this to be done several times. The first time we spoke to someone about this it was to one of the under managers a short man with balding hair and glasses who I believe was called Kostas. He said that people didn't want the air-conditioning on! I said that I'm sure that with the temperatures around 110 most people would appreciate some respite with a cold drink at various parts of the day. When we did manage to get the air-con on the indoor areas were used much more for this very reason. We also made sure they put it on, during our last morning as we as does everyone else returning home stay in the lounges fully clothed waiting for the transfer coach to arrive. The man was obviously a nutter as he always wore a vest under his shirt and tie!
Bedrooms
Before we arrived I had e-mailed the hotel asking to be in the main building, low-floor, which I am glad I did as many of the bungalows were quite a way from main areas. The rooms were nicely decorated with a modern theme of cream and pale blue which went right through the hotel. There was a TV with BBC world and a music channel, a hairdryer, telephone and razor socket in the bathroom. The air con was superb and well used. Always clean with linen changed 3 times a week and towels daily. Our room overlooked the main entrance area which was fine as there are gardens and Tennis courts there. There was a safe which cost 32 euros for the fortnight which was located in the wardrobe. There was also an excellent beach towel service, you paid 15 euros per towel which you could change daily (or more if necessary) and at the end of your stay you returned the towel and got all of your money back! We had 2 so when we came to settle up at the end of our stay the beach towel money almost paid for the safe.
Pool area, Pool bar and beach bar
The pool area was quite small for a hotel of this size, the sunbeds were the white plastic uncomfortable ones without cushions. We chose to pay 8 euros for beds on the beach which is next to the pool area, this was for 3 reasons. Firstly the area was beautiful, fantastic clean soft sand, (cleaned and raked daily by the sun-bed man) the sea was clear warm and shallow for 100 yards, the entertainment and activities were a stones throw away if you wanted them and not in your face, but the BIG reason was that there weren't as many wasps. I wouldn't be exaggerating if I described the Pool and outdoor bar/restaurant areas to be infested with them. This made me very uncomfortable as I have a Phobia and couldn't even go to the bar because of them. At any one time there would be as many as 30 wasps flying around you whilst you stood at the bar. People were constantly being stung - we asked some Greeks about this they said it was because they were experiencing very hot weather
It was better on the beach but not totally clear of them. The food in the beach bar which was snacks suited those who enjoyed snack type food rather than proper meals.
Entertainment
The daily activities were good, particularly Lisa who took the aqua gym class. The evening entertainment was the pits and was probably some of the worst we have seen presented by an Animation team.
Location
For us the location was just right, a walking distance into Lagana, but far enough away so we weren't surrounded by broken bottles and fag ends, which the town looked like every morning before the big clean up. At night you didn't notice this but then we were always out of there for 10.30, we would have a couple of drinks just for a walk out really. You could walk along the beach or along the road, we would walk along the beach and do 'round the block' it was pobably about 2 miles round trip. There are many stretches of roads without pavements and the drivers are nutters so beware!
The beach outside the hotel and further up into Kalamaki was the nesting place for the turtles, the nests were easily spotted as they had protective bamboo or blue cages covering them so they were not disturbed. There were also restrictions further up that stretch of beach because of this.
Generally
We had an excellent holiday, the hotel was very similar in lots of ways to another hotel we have stopped in, in the same group. It would be a place I would visit again but we are told that most of the Louis hotels live up to this standard.

Just come back from this hotel and would like to tell you some things about it.For a start the hotel is everything it says it is in the brochure, very clean and spacious with plenty of room inside and outside by the pool.A good mixture of people from all over Europe although mainly English, but no problem with finding a sunbed even after breakfast.Food quality was pretty good with a good selection of different meals to choose from and the pancakes for breakfast went down particulally well with our kids.

The annimation team were excellent and never seemed to run out of energy from morning thru till night. They organised daytime games for everyone and at night they performed various shows to keep everyone amused(even the kids)particulally funny was the comedy cabaret which had everyone in fits of laughter.

Bedrooms were just big enough for us four, 2 adults and 2 kids (11+13)and were cleaned daily with new towels etc.

absolutely fabulous beach and lovely warm sea and we would recommend hiring a motor boat for the day(70euros)and going turtle sightseeing.

Also the brochure does mention pedaloes, canoes which are not free of charge and we could not find any archery anywhere and there are no video games available. However there are plenty of other activities to keep you happy and if you feel like a stroll into town it takes about five minutes where there are lots of shops ,bars showing latest films and restaraunts .

One black spot is Zante airport which is so tiny you will feel like a sardine for most of the time you are waiting and on some occasions you will be forced to wait outside(not good if it's hot)

Zante beach is an excellent choice for families and we will probably go back there again sometime.
