The hotel is much the same as our previous review 07/02/06 we returned 23/02/06. Shirley left 01/03/06 for home due to commitments at home. I stayed until 23/03/06.
We loved every minute. We asked for a room change as we were given room 59 on ground floor,right nxt to stairwell to restraunt and was very very noisy every meal time and at night.Room changed next day. With no problem. Will be returning again 26/03/06.So that speaks 4 it"s self.
The things I can comment on is pool bar was open .Pool area being renovated, The pool was spotless.I used laundry for 1"sttisme as wife had retuned.
I was surprised the machines were as old as the hills,but did avery large wash + dry, excellent at only 1 lire 50 each.

We started on an all inc basis but due to food quality and rules we changed to half board.
The breakfast was cold with uncooked eggs. the snacks consisted of frozen sandwiches and diner everyday was hotdog burger and chips. As for evening meal chips were overdone meat was undercooked and everyday you had breakfasts remaining egg made as omlette.
As for the rooms they were damp and smelt foisty we managed to change rooms as springs popped out of my bed the ennamel was coming off the bah the heatin was broke and surrounding rooms were very noisy .
The 2nd room had the lock hanging off no bath just a shower 1 wall was no more than plastic. and to top it all just 1 plughole, so we had to debate between ironing tv or charge your phone. Oh yes and the bedding was holey.
ps neither room had hot water.

My husband and I booked a late deal to this hotel and for what it cost us with the flights and hotel we were not expecting the Ritz!!
We had a great flight with British Jet and arrived at the hotel late evening. The 1st room we were given was on the ground floor and not very good but the next day we moved to a room on the 4th floor which was much better. It is basic accommodation but clean and our room was cleaned everyday and the staff were very pleasant.
The food was ok and there was always a choice available.
It was a very enjoyable holiday and for the money we paid was excellent value. For all the negative comments made by other holiday makers I can only say that you get exactly what you pay for so if it is a luxury hotel you are expecting then dig deeper into your pockets and pay for it!!

After my 5th (I think) visit, I am hoping to book my next one in April, then again next December. My mate arrived at the end November, and booked March - April & December 2006 he loves it so much.
Cleanliness - sheets were changed every 3 (I think) days, room cleaned daily, towels changed when put in the bath.
Food - nothing wrong with it. I really don't see what people are complaining about. How the heck I didn't put on 3 stones I'll never know!
Location - great for the bus, but we hired a vehicle as we go to Malta primarily to dive, so need a car to ferry us and kit around.
Staff - Friendly, pleasant, and always have a few minutes to be civil.
Entertainment - I didn't go to any, so I can't comment on that. We were up early to dive, so early to bed. I don't know what the pools were like, we have the Med to play in!
Would I go again? As I've got April & December planned, I think that's a healthy yes!!

We read the reports on various websites but decided we weren't snobs and we'd go to the Palm Court Hotel assuming it would be basic but clean, how wrong we were. The report's which give this hotel 5 stars must live in some very strange places.
This hotel is disgusting, broken dirty mattresses, towels not fit for the bin. The food, well I've had better in truck stops.
The hotel is dirty, damp, dark and smelly (that's in December, it must be bad in summer). We lasted a day and had to pay to be moved to a hotel around the corner which actually deserved being called that.
If you liked Butlins 30 years ago and 18-30 holidays then this may be for you but I wouldn't recommend it!!

After reading reports on this hotel we were a bit dubious but after arriving room was given to us very quickly and found it clean upon arrival and was kept clean every day.
Clean towels and linen every day water very hot all week which I cant say about many hotels ive stayed at . Staff was very helpful. Food was very nice. Entertainment very enjoyable just join in.
Location was ideal for buses. For the money we paid to go we didnt expect the Ritz but got a hotel that was friendly and resonably clean.
We will be definitely be going back there in March hopefully. As for cockroaches they must have travelled to one of the five star hotels we never seen any.

We had read all the reports but really palm court is a nice hotel. It does say 5** but is more like a 3**we stayed half board.
The hotel was very clean ,apart from afew bits of loose paint. The food was excellent with plenty of different choices every night.
The location of the hotel is very good a 5 minute walk to bus depot if you want to travel on a bus get on there as they get very crowded and the fares are very cheap 23c the most expensive we had.
The hotel staff were very polite and helpful. If you want entertainment there are plenty of bars around the area as well if you dont like the hotels.
We got the holiday at a great price we all enjoyed our selves great airport staff quick transfer and fast check in and free in flight meals.
If you are only expecting basic like we were this will be a bargain holiday for you.
We spoke to many people who had been there 4 or 5 times.

Myself My Partner and brother-in-law and his wife decided to go for a last minute break to Malta November 2005. It was our first time to Malta my sister advised me to look at the reviews first which I did, I was a little worried but not enough to change my mind about going as I like an adventure.
I was pleasantly surprised the hotel staff were friendly the room we had was clean and had everything we needed.
The food was good everything was excellent including the holidaymakers it may sound corny but it was one big happy family, the atmosphere was brilliant. And the Maltese people were lovely. Will we be going again this year a big yes already booked.

First impression seemed ok but soon after entering hotel it became apparent this was no proper hotel.
Our first room was flooded on first floor, we were then moved to fourth floor where room was very basic. Aircon had mind of its own, fan on roof did not work, probably a good thing cause it looked very insecure. Room was cleaned every day.
Meals were served down in basement of hotel on a help yourself basis, I could not call it a restaurant, as I can only describe it as a prison canteen. The food was terrible, both breakfast and evening meal were worse than old school dinners. We virtually ate out every day.
The only plus I can give for food was the packed lunches which were'nt too bad. Having stopped there on an all inclusive we took advantage of free drinks at the bars, now me being a drinker found the lager only just drinkable.
Entertainment was very drab, a geriatric DJ and bingo caller/dance host who seemed bored to tears himself.
On the whole a terrible place to stay, I wouldn't stay there again for free. It could be said it was only cheap to stay there, but it may be cheaper and better to go to a prison.

Unfortunately we booked this on an all inclusive basis,
the hotel looked like it had not been cleaned since before the war, absolutely filthy, all the ramps and corridors made it look like a rabbit warren, dull, dingy and absolutely filthy, I have thrown better pillows out, we had to ask for new ones and for another room but were told no rooms were available, they did give us the keys to a room on the first floor but oh my god what a disaster.
We had no choice but to stay the night and first thing the next morning they moved us to another hotel in Buggiba, which was far cleaner. The food, for all we had for one night, I suppose was edible, hotel location was not great, staff not helpful, entertainment very poor. There is no way on gods earth we would ever return to this hotel. The rooftop pool - what a laugh - more like a big kids paddling pool - the main pool - there is no words to describe it.
What else can I say but to avoid this hotel like the plague. This hotel should be demolished.
