From reception everything looked like a decent hotel until you go behind the scenes. Room basic at the rear, corridors leading to rooms very narrow in bad need of decoration. Pillows could have been better only filled with sponge bits.

Restaurant in the basement of the building was not very inviting to walk down too opposite toilets which smelt liked something had died down in them. Food not up to much not very appetising not very warm, need better equipement to keep it hotter for longer.

Pool area outside most univiting and shabby. Water not very clean. Sunbeds left out in all weathers and of an evening cats would come and lounge all over the beds they made more use of them than the hotel guests.

The roof top pool could only be described as a joke. It was more like a big water cistern maybe this hotel needs to visit a hotel with a roof rop pool to find out what the definition of a reoof top pool is.

All in all we had a good hollday as we like Malta so the hotel did not put us off. But we would not reccomend this hotel to anybody and we would definately never never never stay there again.

As to the entertainment We would rather watch paint dry or the grass grow.

Okay the hotel isn't much to look at but on arrival we were looked after very well.

Our room was clean and the maids came in every day to clean.

There was a great choice of food for everyone.

The hotel is just a short walk from the seafront.

I have paid more and had a lot less for my money in a lot of other places I have been. I will definitely book again.

just to point out that if you see dirt it has been made by the people who are staying there. I watched people putting their rubbish under sunbeds and in the bushes instead of the bins provided and emptied every couple of hours.

We arrived at the hotel at about 2ish inthe morning after good flight with british jet.

Hotel room was smelly and hot aircon not working, fan not working couldnt open patio doors because of pool pump and aircon units feet away from doors.Cold water as hot as hot water tap.

Staff helpful giving us another room next day on 2nd floor again aircon not working but at least we could open patio doors. This hotel very depressing with long windey passage ways with flakey paintwork.

Hotel very run down and needs updating.Staff try hard to keep it clean but are losing the battle.Food ok but basic in buffet style.

Malta well worth visiting but my advice is to save up and stay elsewhere.

After reading the reviews on here I was worried about going, turned up at 4am v tired straight to bed.

Breakfast next morning bleary eyed and then welcome meeting. Do not book anything with the rep, go over the road to Freeways, Malta Bargain reps charge a lot more believe me and they tried to con you into a timeshare, was not happy about that.

Hotel location very good a few streets away is central Buggiba very nice. Food you get what you pay for, was canteen style and not great but its a cheap holiday, I mainly stuck to cooked meat and chips/salad not very healthy! Always fruit salad or a dessert to choose from.

Aircon in room worked and wasnt very noisy to be honest no complaints there. Word of advice if you have a day trip out planned ask for packed lunch its nicer than meal at night! You dont get your meal at night if you have packed lunch tell them dinner night before and you pick up at breakfast next day, hotel/rep wont tell you that though!

Had a very enjoyable holiday but you dont go on holiday to spend all the time at hotel anyway!!!

I went with my parents and my sister to Palm Court hotel in Malta and I have to say that although the staff were friendly and the location was good the hotel was a disgrace.

We were all inclusive yet we ate out every night as the vegetarian food was limited and the food hall was congested.

We could not wait to come home. 1 week was too long.

Arrived at about half 3 in the morning so didn't care too much then, just wanted a pillow to put our heads on!

As the morning wore on we made the trip down to the "RESTAURANT!?" for breakfast, it was like being back in the school canteen. You are given a card on arrival at the hotel and you use this to reserve a table when you first go into eat. Then you join the queue, to be fair the bacon was ok and the eggs(poached, fried or scrambled) were edible, beans are beans and didn't like the sausages at all! The toaster goes round so slow you could eat everything else, have a cuppa then go and collect the slightly browned bread!! In all though breakfast was ok!

Dinner Time was a real thrill! The staff try hard but really the meal wasn't up to much! We soon decided that the way to go was arrive late for breakfast, about 9.45, then go out and about for the day, go to the first sitting of dinner at 5.30 and have the starter (soup or pasta) or some salad, then go out at about 9 - 9.30 for a decent meal in one of the great restaurants in Bugibba!

The pool area was very noisy, sunbeds packed together, didn't take long to decide that again this wasn't for us so it was onto a bus to Golden Sands Bay and the delights of the beach! I would add that the pool was cleaned once in the 10 days we were there! The water in the pool was very cloudy but this was due to the amount of chlorine!!!

Now the room! Bed was comfy, sheets were changed 5 times, but 3 times we happened to be in the room when the maids called so we asked it to be done! Had clean towels daily so not too bad, the en-suite toilet and shower was basically in a plastic sliding door wardrobe kind of thing (hard to describe), but the shower worked fine although not always hot water! The real saving grace for the room though was the air conditioning unit IT WAS SUPERB!!!

As far as entertainment goes well we made the trek up to the roof lounge for the quiz one night only to find that there was no bar up there and when I asked the quiz master for a pen he looked at me as if I had just asked for the keys to his house, hence to say we didn't stay for this great social event!!!

The Palm Court made a decent enough base for our holiday, but I am so glad that we weren't tied to it on an All Inclusive deal! Saw plenty of kebabs and burgers going in late at night carried by those with the little hospital wristbands(given to AI customers to wear!)!!

One word of warning, at the welcome meeting you will be offered the chance to get a voucher that you redeem for 10 Malta Lira, this is a timeshare thing where you have to visit a place nearby and basically get a guided tour from a timeshare salesman, go if you are good at saying NO!!

To be honest we had a nice holiday but then we only really slept at the Palm Court!!

Don't be misled by the three star rating given to this hotel, I have stayed in much better one star hotels. Even the youth hostels I stayed in during my student years were a higher standard.

I can't believe some of the positive comments made about this hotel. The only people who seemed to be having a great time while we were there were generally too drunk to notice their surroundings. It's probably a good choice for young people who want to get drunk every night or people who are used to low standards of hygiene and comfort.

I travelled with my son of 20 and daughter of 12. The room I was given on the ground floor to share with my daughter was terrible. The stink from the shower room was disgusting and the door to it didn't shut unless I wedged something heavy against it, so the smell filled the room.

The room was unbearably hot - the air conditioning didn't work. I opened the patio door to let some air in and found there were 7 very noisy extractors from the air conditioning units in the kitchen and restaurant just outside the room and blowing the smell of grease into the room. So the door had to be shut. My son's single room was a bit better although still smelling of dirty drains. His bed was on its last legs and the floor was dirty!

We arrived at the hotel at 7.15 p.m. and were told to leave our bags in our room and go straight to dinner in the so-called restaurant. We went to dinner - what an experience. I had paid all-inclusive thinking it would save money but we only ate in that first night.

The food was very poor - and I gather from other people who ate there it was the same thing over and over again. But almost worse than the food was the dismal, depressing atmosphere. There is no natural light as it's in the basement, the lighting was dingy, and the whole experience was unpleasant, like being in a transport cafe. The restaurant staff were generally indifferent and I didn't see a smile from them the whole time we were there

That night we couldn't sleep. The room was too hot, noisy and smelly, and next to the air conditioning outlets outside the patio door was the children's play area, leading into the pool area. There was karaoke wailing on around the pool till after 11.00 p.m. and this, together with screaming kids right outside the room until midnight, meant that it was impossible to sleep.

Breakfast in the morning offered little choice and was the same every day. For those who didn't want an unhealthy greasy fry up of eggs, fatty dripping bacon, sausages and beans there was little choice for a healthy diet. There were some sort of flakes that were like paper board, or oats with a few raisins. You could have toast if you could be bothered to make it on a very slow machine and jam and marmalade. Oh - and some cake for those who just have to eat cake for breakfast. You could have a small fruit salad if you paid for it.

On the plus side, after breakfast I asked to change my room and we were given the keys to look at a room on the first floor. This was far better. It was nowhere near as smelly, the air conditioning and ceiling fan worked and it looked out onto the road - so only traffic noise and no karaoke. Great - we took it despite having a double bed instead of twin beds!

The only big downside to this new room was the cockroach that came out each night (I called him Trevor). My daughter was terrified of him so we kept the door shut with a towel wedged underneath so he couldn't get in the room.

The towels were clean but the maid generally forgot to leave any new ones as we had to use one or two each time we had a shower to wipe up the puddles on the floor. The shower curtain is too short to keep inside the shower base. We were given fresh towels at reception when we asked.

The swimming pool is a health hazard. The water is so cloudy you can't see the bottom. My son dived in with his goggles on and said the bottom was covered in slime and had cans and other debris in it. The area around the pool was dirty and flaking bits of green surface stuck to our feet. I saw the sides of the pool being hosed down each night - straight into the pool!

I love swimming, but couldn't go near this pool - anyway there were so many people on lilos there was hardly any space in the pool, despite there being a notice that lilos were not allowed.

There were a lot of rules posted around the hotel, but everyone, including the staff, ignored them.

My sons room, on the ground floor had two food and drinks vending machines outside (which he said people used at all hours of the night)- yet there was a rule that there should be no eating or drinking in the corridors! The corridors and stairs were dark and filthy. The stairs to our floor had the same dust and debris all week so were clearly rarely cleaned. Another new rule was posted at the reception desk when we were there - that in the interests of security you had to show your room card when you asked for your key. This was not enforced at all and were were never asked for our card. I'm sure that it was only put up to pacify those people who had items stolen from their rooms.

With one or two exceptions, bar staff were arrogant and rude. We had very few drinks in the hotel as we went out as much as possible, but on one occasion when I asked for a packet of crisps, the barman literally threw them at me with some force! I felt sorry for the two or three young men serving who were trying their best at being polite and friendly.

The good thing for us about being in such a dreadful place was that we got out and about. I hired a car for three days and we found some beautiful sandy beaches around the top part of the island. We visited the craft centre and the air museum nearby as well as Mosta and Mdina. We had some great meals out in local restaurants and we also met some lovely, friendly Maltese people. We went on the Fernandes cruise to Gozo and Comino which was expensive for the day. It was okay, but would have been better if the boat hadn't been so packed.

I would never, ever consider this hotel again, even if I was paid to go there. After this experience I am unsure I would ever go to Malta again. However, I have been to Malta once before for a holiday (St Julian's) and to Gozo (which was lovely)and on there occasions I loved the place. I certainly would be very careful to check this website which I only found out about from one of the many other people at the hotel who was disgusted with the standards.

We have jut returned from a cheap holiday to the Palm Court, hotel is basic, and nothing special, but acceptable for what we paid.

Food was ok, breakfast was ok, but nohing realy except dripping bacon etc.

Most of the staff are nice, but some rude.

Our room was nice, and had good air con.

Overall, a good holiday, and would stay here again with its faults.

I am so pleased that we only booked one weeks holiday when going to the Palm Court hotel.

The onset of the holiday started really well with a quick check-in and a comfortable and friendly service on the flight. This unfortunately changed when we saw the accommodation we would be sleeping, eating and being entertained in for the next week.

The building interior was aged and very drab and the lengthy corridors were covered in a grubby carpet which was sprinkled with flaking paint from the walls. One of the rooms stank of damp and when the bed was sat on it collapsed. The replacement room we were given was changed the next morning as again there was a bad smell which was coming from the air conditioning. The rooms were very basic but ok, the worst part was the shower and toilet facilities. I realised on my last day that when a nearby room flushed their toilet some of their waste ended up down our toilet. I was so glad it was the last day!.

Breakfast was the best meal of the day. The food was very repetitive and more like bad school dinners.

The pool was dirty and the entertainment which was sometimes on the 6th floor was not sufficient for them to open the bar up on this floor, instead we had to make trips down to the ground floor when we needed a drink. The staff were generally helpful although could have been a little more flexible considering the low standards.

This hotel should be regraded a 1 or 2 star or change its name from a hotel to a hostel.
