We arrived 12 weeks after that hurricane, but the hotel was in perfect condition. The staff were the most welcoming we have ever met, if our drinks glass was half empty a waiter/ess would always come and ask if we would like a new one.

The bar staff would hand out cocktails for you to try during less busy times. The rooms were completly cleaned daily, and the maids would leave towel sculptures on the beds almost daily. Bev says you must try the cocktail "mud slide" it is to die for, but watch out as too many and you just might.

The only down side to the hotel was the very loud Americans/ Canadians. They would hold a conversation face to face but shout as if they are 20 yards apart, and they do like wooping and hey-ing, but what the heck, who cares, just get another drink and lie in the sun and chill out, cos your in heaven.

This Hotel is Breathtaking.

The Staff at the Riu cancun cannot do enough for you. From the management right down to the cleaners.

Our holiday was cut short due to Hurricane Wilma but the staff at the Riu Cancun where brilliant in the way they tried to help in the evacuation shelters.

Even 1 day after Wilma they where there busy getting this beautiful hotel back to its former glory.

They the staff are the heart of this hotel and it is beating even stronger.

Having seen hotel on the internet I was not disappointed, it was beautiful, 10 mins walk from center of cancun, and directly on beach

Staff were fab couldnt do enough for us, although that couldnt be said for the Thomson rep who was downright rude, you could tell she was British but Mexicans were lovely.

Entertainment was good and when you have had enough of shows the disco was open late enough for us and you could bop away till the early hours.

without a doubt the nicest hotel ive ever stayed in and would not hesitate to return

We love this hotel, we were here last year and couldnt wait to come back. Hence the reason we married here this time.
-The hotel was clean at all times, food was fabulous, I put on 1 stone! We didnt think much of the Japanese resturant (we dont enjoy seafood though), the Brazilian resturant is superb also.

-Location was great, 5 minutes walk from all the fun, you must try S.Frogs what a laugh!
We tried the dolphin discovery, jungle tour and deep sea fishing-all worth a try

-The staff couldnt do enough for you, I started to feel guilty about them running around all the time!

-Entertainment great, always something going on in this hotel, try the cocktails they offer you on the way into Don Juan resturant-yummy

This is by far the best hotel I have ever stayed in.
The staff were always cleaning (even the beach and raking the sand) and everywhere was immaculate.

The rooms were a good size and the bathrooms beautiful.

The staff were fantastic and couldn't do enough for you.

The entertainment was excellent during the day by one of the pools (although if you wanted peace and quiet you could just use a different pool area.)The evening entertainment was also excellent.

The food was fantastic plenty of choice even for fussy vegetarians like me!

The drinks were great, anything you wanted even major brands. And a nice touch to have a minibar and optics in your room.

I couldn't find fault with anything and I will definitely be going back.

The only bad thing was having to leave.

P.S You must go to Co Co Bongo, a truly unforgettable experience and swimming with the dolphins on the Isles Mujeres was more than worth the money.

The flights could have been better but pale into insignificance in the grand scheme of things.

I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. Everything was perfect from the room, to the food, and in particular the staff who couldnt do enough to help. The hotel is in a great location and still looks really new, unlike some of the 70's style hotels you pass on the road in!

Myself and my Husband went for a couples holiday and when pulled up to the Hotel we were absolutely gobsmacked as to how grand the hotel was. When we checked in we were greeted by friendly staff and a nice non-alcholic cocktail which was a great and refereshing.

When we were allocated our room the receptio staff told us we had one of the best rooms in the hotel and my god they were not wrong as we had got a suite (which we had not asked for) and the room was absolutely mind blowing. The view from our room was amazing. The bathroom was huge and the bed even bigger. You of course get your mini bar which is included in the price and was a nice variety from pop to shorts.

The resturants were brilliant and we never had any complaints and there is plently to choose from as there is something for everyone.

The staff were brillaint and they could not do enough for you.

Everywhere was kept immaculate and you could go as far as to say you probably could eat your dinner of the floor as it was that clean.

The beach was beautiful and so was the pools.

The hotel was in a great location for shopping and the bars and if you wanted to go further afield then the bus stop was right outside (but beware the bus drivers are mental drivers).

We went swimming with the dolphins and that is an absolute must and remember to take extra money with you to buy the DVD and the photos.

if you want to get away from the Hotel to taste the night life then you must visit Coco Bongo as the shows are fantasic but watch the american kids as they do go over board with their drinking.

We are definately going back and all i can say is if you do find fault with this hotel then there is something very wrong.

Recommend the hotel 100%

What can I say,the food, people, location and value for money was out standing. There are no negatives from this holiday at all, and there's only fond memories.

The staff were so helpfull and friendly it was unbelievable. The view from our room was breath taking and the colour of the blue sea and white sand was unreal.

This will definately be a place I will be going back to stay and I cant recommend it enough. If its an active gym type holiday you want or a relxing beach type it's all there (but dont book the excursions with the hotel, go across the road to the shops and save 50 percent.

You'll go to the same places at the same times but obviously keep your witts about you!!)

We stayed at the Riu Cancun for our honeymoon in October 2004, we could not fault one single thing. Check-in at the hotel was excellent and very formative. We then went to the room where I bags were brought to us, tips were a must - only because the service was excellent. The maid was lovely and did an excellent job every day. The rooms were very spacious and air-conditioned, the bathroom was first class and the shower was superb - lots of power and hot water. The rooms were fully stocked with a mini-bar which was included in the price and restocked every other day.

Meal times were not disappointing, lots of choice and variety each night. There was lager, red and white wine on tap - you just helped yourself!

Not being much of a beach person I decided to stay by the pool most days but the beach was excellent.

The nightly entertainment was very energetic and did not lack imagination.

We visited Chichen Itza which was lovely, the journey was three and a half hours each way, I was glad I went but wouldn't go again!

We also had a night in Coco Bongo - which is a must - the show was fantastic.

The hotel is situated right in the heart of Cancun - lots of shopping malls which is great for us women.

Would I go again - I am next September and I can't wait.
