First time to Gran Canaria and would defo go back.
The hotel was of a good standard and the staff were good.
The food in the bar was fine and europa centre was just over the road.
Got recommened to go to Holiday world at Maspolomas which was really good and reasonably priced. Also went to Atlantis water park which is better for small kids as it was not too busy.
The hotel entertainment what can i say but Dave is the man. This man is the best of any hotel i have been to by a country mile he caters for all and remembers everyone. The water polo and football were a great laugh and with a lot of dodgy ref decisions i must say (lol)
What a laugh with his euro bingo he has more keys than anyone for this. The entertainment was of a good standard as well and eveyone had a really good holiday due to Dave. Came back now and Olivia is 20 months is shouting for Dave and Who are ye.

It was my first stay at Gran canaria and the Babalu apts, the reason we went is that Ryan and his family had been many times before and always had good things to say about it, they were not wrong. The Apartments themsleves were situated right at the very top vith the Barbacoa and europa centre just accross the road. The apts were lovely from the outsite and , basic and inside basic but adequate. Cleaners came in most days gave clean towels and changed the beds more often than not and all seemed relitively friendly.
The pool is of a great size and suitable for all ages with the deep pool, baby pool and the main pool for all. the bar area was well maintained a great selection of snacks and bar meals and very friendly staff, nachas and Leon!
Entertainment................... Dave you are the man!!!! he was fab, he got the kids up dancing, mums and dad's playing football and water polo and entertaining everyone with his bingo calling!!

We loved it at Babalu apartments because of the wonderful staff. Dave and others - he got the kids to dance kareoke football and waterpolo and also a smashing bingo caller.

Like many others on here we booked Babalu as a cheap holiday and were very wary after reading some of the eary reviews. However, I reckon the management must have changed. We had a fantastic time. The room was spotless, the kitchen area, although small was more than adequate. The balcony was huge.Maids cleaned the room every other day.
The pool area was cleaned every morning. The only gripe was the sunbeds being ties together and not being able to 'sit-up'. We managed no problem.
The location was fine. Yes, its a lot of stairs down to the beach - 661 to be exact, but taxis are plentiful and cheap. We went down a couple of days and then just stopped around the pool. The food at the bar was very reasonable, freshly cooked and good value. The prices for drinks were fine. We normally doubled up at happy hour (buy one get one free) and that made it a very cheap night.
The best thing ever (particulary for the kids) was Dave the entertainment. He was fantastic with the kids and included them all, remembering their names (even if it was Posh and Beckham!!) and not embarrasing or pushing them to do things they didnt want to do. He had football tourniments every day for boths kids and adults alike - with a very dodgy ref!, water polo (again, same dodgy ref)and a kids disco and bingo in the evenings. After that was some kind of shrt show - parrots, singers, reptiles, wild birds, comedians and rounded off the evening lovely.
The music from the pool bar was fine, not too loud and finished by midnight. All of the others hotels and venues around had some kind of music/entertainment on so you are going to hear noise wherever you are. It all generally finished by around midnight though.
All in all we had a fantastic, cheap holiday and are planning to return again next year.

the hotel was ok the rooms a little small maybe but there were only 3 of us so it was adequate for us. they were very clean but maybe could be maintained a little better.the balconies were huge and our view from the top floor was fab. The pools were fine just the sunbeds all chained together. It was a long walk to the beach all down hill (taxi back 3 euro's) especially when your only there for an hour and we had to come back because our little boy William wanted to see Dave instead!!! Dave is the entertainment. He is brilliant. William loved him and the kids loved Dave he arranged the footie the waterpolo the night entertainment everything. the only problem Ihave now Dave is William thinks your gonna be there when we go away to Kent in October!!!! and everywhere we go be it the shops anywhere he's doing king carractacus!!the cd is fab that you can get off Dave the kids love it. Europa centre is just across the way a little small but it's ok.

Accomodation only suitable for up to 3 people in a party (we booked for 4). Apartment was poorly maintained with plug sockets hanging off the wall and the fridge was old, rusted and broken. Lock to patio door broke during our stay. Pool and pool area not cleaned very well. Water in both main pools was cloudy throughout the whole of our stay. White edging to the pools very slippy and numerous people slipped during our stay. Bar area poorly designed but bar staff very friendly. Entertainment most nights - great for the kids. Dave the entertainment coordinator very good, he organised football and water polo during the day and kids disco and bingo in the evening.

Well . what a fab holiday . i traveled with two 9yr old girls. they loved it , Dave kept them busy day and night , He is a FIRST CLASS entertainer,he remembers all the childrens names and includes each and every one of them in all games etc. we could not have asked for better , THANKS DAVE, The hotel was clean , rooms clean and tidy , cleaned every other day , POOL BAR food good , happy hour twice aday and staff happy and very helpful. will be returning in NOV for girly holiday. This is a great hotel to book and give it 5 *****

The rooms were small but adequate. The Food provided by the Bar was of a good standard.The location of the Hotel was ok with excellent facilities just a walking a distance away.
Some of the Hotel saff were not very helpful especially with a incident involving my family members on our last day of the holiday.I am still waiting to hear fo a reply from the Holida firm.
Dave the Entertainer "Top Man" very professional and deserves alot more crfedit than he actually gets.

Booked as a cheap holiday so didn't really know what to expect. Had a fantastic time! The room was adequate and kept clean (huge balcony). The pools were lovely and never a problem getting sunbeds. The staff were all friendly and the pool bar was fairly priced with two happy hours each day and good quality snacks. Dave was fantastic, kept the kids entertained giving them all nicknames which they found funny and they really missed him on his days off. The Europa centre is just across the road so not far to go for shops and bars. Would definitely come back again - one of the best holidays we have had!

As a family and personally speaking i would highly recomend the babalu apartments.very clean place and the people are so freindly even down to the maids who are wonderfull.appartments are very basic but perfict for what you need and spottless.dave is a excellent entertainer and good freind.we will see david soon along with the rest of the bar staff.hope to see you all soon love Dougie Michelle Shannon Georgia xxxxx
