This was our fifth visit to the Colina Mar but our first without kids. We opted for a self catering apartment which was clean and basic but had everything we needed. There was a lot of refurbishment going on and it looked as though the apartments were being given a major makeover.
The Colina Mar is situated about as high as you could get in the resort but don't let that put you off as there are plenty of bars/restaurants to be found in the nearby Europa Centre.
The staff are very friendly especially the bar staff who are generally a fairly mad bunch who make sure guests enjoy themselves.
The entertainment was fine although when we were there they were one member of staff short so poor Emma was worked to death.

We went half board, the breakfast was always hot and freshly prepared a good variety of food, evening meals were wonderful.
The rooms were very clean and were serviced 4 times in a week. The location of the colina mar was up in the heavens, views are stunning but not good if you suffer from vertigo.
Reception staff not very friendly but bar staff and waiters were brilliant and they all love children.
The entertainment was a bit limited and the kids entertainers were very enthusiastic. I would visit this hotel again.

Rooms cleaned 8 days out of 14.
Food was ok and the location was alright.
Staff were ok.
The entertainment was poor. The kids clubs were mostly for younger kids, so there wasn't much for older children.

This is an excellent family hotel.
All areas are kept clean & the two pools are well maintained.
Plenty to keep children entertained throughout the day around the main pool or relax at the smaller pool.
View from hotel is excellent being right at the top of the hill but it is a long walk up from the town.
The food was good with a lot of choice for each meal.
If self catering there are plenty of places to eat out
either in the nearby Europa Centre or in the town.

Stayed in Colina Mar. Excellent views from all the rooms as the hotel is built high on the hill.
Found the reception staff very friendly.
Rooms basic and had everything we needed, kettle, toaster etc.
Good layout of hotel, well kept, two large pools and lots of little extra areas for sunbathing.
Went out every night to eat so did not stay for entertainment.
Europa centre just a few minutes walk away with shops supermarkets pubs and restaurants. 'Garoes' good place to eat with good food and friendly staff.

Rooms were very basic.Shower curtain fell off when used. Furniture very old and badly repaired.Exposed electrical wiring in wall lights in bedroom. Very poor lighting, think they use max 60watt bulbs. Food was diabolical.
Had to eat out 5 out of 7 days there after trying to eat cheap cuts of meat and luke warm everything else. Food reminded me of school dinners 30 years ago. not recommended. Location was at top of hill, too steep/far to walk, cost us in taxi's throughout holiday.
If your a seasoned 'hiker' you'll love it! Decor throughout hotel was shabby and in urgent need of refurbishment.
Puerto Rico itself is beautiful and worth a visit.

A great view is all I can say thats good about this hotel.
The entertainment was the worst I have ever seen , it really was that bad please sack your two entertainment staff as they didnt have a clue .
The food was average and the service was terrible. There was food left on outside tables for hours which birds came down to eat, I nearly went out to lift the plates myself I was so disgusted.
I will never be back at this hole but Puerto Rico was ok. Sorry im just telling it the way we seen it.

Although this resort is on top of the hill the views are excellent.
As a family we really enjoyed our holiday here there is plenty for the kids to do. Kids club in a morning/afternoon approx 2 hours, entertainment around the pool in the afternoon (water polo, darts, pool, archery and a dailyquiz)then a mini disco early evening.
There is also entertainment every night for the adults.
We never failed to have a laugh with all the friends we made and the New Years Eve entertainment/fireworks werefantastic!!

The hotel was spotless, clean bedlinen almost daily.
A bit far out though at the top of the hill although the taxi service was great and not at all expensive.
Staff were very friendly and keen to help with any queries.
The hotel was full with a mixture of age groups that surprised me as it was November.
There was entertainment every evening although we chose to go into the main resort centre. I would definitely go back.
