I went to this hotel last year and it was scorching hot!!

I absolutley loved it because we were all inclusive and the variety of drinks and snacks by the pool you could get was unbeliveable. I really don't know how they make their money because there were snacks throughout the day which tasted delicious and there was a wide variety of drinks including, frothee cappucinno, champagne, kids cocktails, adults cocktails and pretty much anything you can think of.

The pool was great because it was that big and the surroundings was lovley.

But I must admit that the entertainment weren't the best because it was mainly for the Spanish but they did translate it to many different languages. One of my favourite things about this hotel was the adults disco downstairs, which was also free drinks. It was open until 2 am and we had a ball there. Opposite he disco was also computers and a games room, which kept the younger ones entertained.

I also loved how close it was to the beach. You must take a lilo with you because the waves are that big they just fling you off the lilo which was so funny, the beach was really good, but like already mentioned the water aerobics were just AMAZING!! Everyone would join in for about an hour dancing and singing in the water it was amazing to do but even better to watch it.

We loved this holiday that much that we have booked to go again in August of this year.

Not bad for what we paid (very little) but would not recommend to anyone and would definitely not return.

Rooms were clean but balcony door very hard to open and air conditioning controlled by hotel, only a few hours overnight. But pleased to have bath and shower in room.

Staff very rude and made no effort to make English feel welcome. Germans and Spanish treated like royalty. Also, no English entertainment.

Breakfast not bad, bread, croissants, cereal, fruit etc. Dinner was awful. Consisted of chips and fish, pork or chicken, generally covered in strange looking sauce with no label as to what it was. No veg!!! Had no choice but to eat there though as town only has 2-3 restaurants and no pubs.

Town in walkable distance but not really worth bothering with. Good shopping centre bus ride away.

We visited this hotel as a family group, we were all accomodated in adjoining rooms - which was great.

The staff were friendly and all reception staff spoke very good English - which was very helpful. Cleanliness was excellent both inside and in the grounds of the hotel.
The position of the hotel was not very good, although it is on the sea front (which is great for beach) it is a good 15min stroll to any life in the evenings.

The food was terrible to say the least - pork or fish of some variant every day (we did have chicken 1 day - but even this was only drumsticks) - sweets consisted of variants of egg custard, ice cream and yoghurts (although we did have melon 1 day) THERE WAS PLENTY OF FRUIT.

Entertainment was poor!

Usually stay at the Z.Park so this was the first time we had stayed at the Gardens. Excellent high quality all around. Hotel very clean, army of cleaners around the place, including pool and garden staff. Found all staff to be extremely friendly, particularly the bar staff.

Food in hotel mostly 'Spanish' style, but hey! - we were in Spain. Salads etc excellant and we ALWAYS found something to eat from a very extensive choice.

Location PERFECT - love this end of the resort.

Entertainment was great. Something going on all day if you wished to join in. Evening entertainment varied to include shows, flamenco dancers, live music etc.

Why do we Brits moan so much about our holidays when we travel abroud. We entertained outselves one evening by trying to think of a list of complaints to make (not easy) that 'spoilt' our holiday!!!!
(1) No orange peel in sachets of marmalade!
(2) Ordered Sangria from bar only to find jug half full of fruit!
(3) Air conditioning around outside pool area not working !
(4) No fee plastic toys in rice crispies box !
(5) Disappointed that roof of hire car was not covered on the insurance - so had to park away from falling trees !
(6) Flip flops left outside room every night - not cleaned once !
And Finally - the book I bought to take on holiday was totally crap!!!!

We have just came back after spending 2 weeks at Zoraida Gardens.

We stayed there on a half board basis, glad we did not upgrade to all inclusive, not a lot of choice with the food it repeated day after day. No choice for children chips, chips or chips.

The Spanish were not at all friendly, which I have not found in other areas of Spain.

Sunbeds were a problem, if you were not up by 7.30 you did not stand a chance, on top of that you had to pay 1euro 50 for a mattress for the sunbed, I also witnessed people reserving sunbeds the night before.

Would I return? I DON'T THINK SO.

We stayed for 2 weeks 1/2 board. Had a fantastic time, with excellent weather.

The hotel is on a nice complex, with 2 swimming pools. Lots of nice green areas with sun beds, if you don't want to be next to the pool. Only problem you have to get to the sunbeds around 8am to get a good spot. There was a charge of 1.50 euros each day for a mattress.

The food in the hotel was good and varied. Always promoting fish and a few meat dishes. You had a grill bar where fish and and meat would be cooked. What also was excellent you didn't have to have the usual chips which they seem to think us British love! There was lovely jacket potatoes and new potatoes each night. This was to my 6 year old daughters delight as she doesn't find chips yummy! She ate very well, with always something there for her to eat.

There was a kids club which was good. They had programs on most evenings and in the daytime. She had her face painted also a few times. Even had a fire works display which was quite good once a week. She met a lovely selection of English kids and had a fantastic time, didn't want to leave.

Staff were friendly at the hotel, but some found English hard to understand.

Had a happy hour at the bar 8-9p.m. Adult entertainment was o.k, we mainly stayed around the hotel in the evenings for my daughter as her friends were all there.

Out of choice I think we would have visited the resort bars a little more if we were with out a child. We all had a great holiday, one of the best we've had in Spain. Hope to return one day!

Have just returned from this hotel and found it to be extremely good for a 3* hotel.

The rooms were adequate and were cleaned daily. The towels were changed daily and the sheets every three days. The air-conditioning is excellent (in fact we used to wake up in the night to turn it off). The tv had quite a few channels but only BBC World News and Sky in English.

The pool is large with plenty of room for sunbeds. The really good thing about this hotel is that you don't have to get up at 7am to get a sunbed there are loads. You have to pay 1.50 Euros for a mattress.

The entertainment is good with music most nights but the entertainment team do a cabaret once a week (with fireworks wind permitting!!!). The kids have a disco from about 9pm for 30 minutes. Also beware of the water aerobics the music is very loud.

There is a small games arcade, gift shop, gym, hairdressers and computers in the hotel. There is also bowling in the sister hotel 8 Euros per person for about 30 mins.

The hotel is located right on the beach and wow what a beach it goes on for miles and is never crowded. There are strong currents though so you must look out for the flags. The beach also shelves very quickly so be very careful. In fact while we were there I only saw one person swim in the sea and he was following a canoe.

The hotel is very Spanish (in our first week I would have said 60% Spanish, 30% English and 10% German but in the second week it would have been 40% Spanish, 30% English and 30% German). The staff and Spanish guests were never rude to us and we never experienced any problems.

The only problem we really had was the food. There were some very strange meals e.g aubergine stuffed with fish, hard boiled eggs with melted cheese on top, but if there was nothing we liked we just went to the grill bar where they would grill a piece of fish or meat for you.

We stayed in the Gardens Hotel on an all inclusive basis. Would throughly recommend this option to anyone, there is plenty of choice, plenty of drinks you certainly wont run out of options. The only downside is wearing a coloured wrist band (depending on what option chosen) 24/7, we weren't allowed to take it off not even for showering or sleeping, were informed that if we did it was

We stayed at the Zoraida Gardens Hotel for 7 days half board. There were plently of sunbeds to go round whether at the pool or just outside on the beach. Dinner was rather good with a varied choice every day (fish, meat and veggie), but breakfast was just a choice of a fry up of bacon and eggs, or cereal.

Although the staff are very helpful their English left a lot to be desired, so brush up on your spanish!
The guests seemed to be about 80% German and Spanish although don't let that put you off.

The onsite entertainment was poor. It was a choice of either listening to traditional spanish songs sung by a live band on the outside stage or the basement disco (which was empty every night of the week bar saturday). All bars shut at 1 am, the disco shut at 2am every night.

My daughter who is 22yrs and I stayed at the Zoraida Garden Hotel, Roquetas de Mar, Almeria - never again. We tried to get a flight home the day after we arrived but there was none available.

The staff at this hotel were very very rude and you were totally ignored if you were English, Germans got treated like royalty. The food was totally disgusting, nothing at all for kids only if they want to live on dried curled up chips that are left days at a time and not heated.

The flies are a terrible pain, they are constantly going for every orifice, apparently they have had these swarms since March 05 nothing done if you complain you get ignored.

There is no entertainment at all, there is some music which starts at 10pm. The Germans are also very rude and we were told when we were there Hitler should have killed us all, nice eh!

We complained to our rep Tracy Ann and we were surprised by her remarks. Apparently no Thomson rep wanted to go to this Hotel or even Almeria so names were put into a hat and unfortunatley her and another girl got chosen. She said it had been the worst 6 months of her life and she was there till October 05. She also said the Spanish and Germans at this hotel were very very rude.

We came back from this horrible horrible holiday very upset but we were glad to get back to people who are not hostile well not all anyway.

This place has nothing at all to do in it so if you are thinking of going here change your minds unless you are an OAP.
