There's not really anything outside the hotel but you can get the little train into Monastir from the hotel. The beach is lovely white sand with plenty of sunbeds & sunshades if required. The staff very quickly bring you 'mattresses' to put on your sun loungers as soon as you get by the pool or on the beach.

Scanes is actualy not a resort but a series of hotels but you could easily get into Sousse or Monastir by taxi or bus the local but which stops right outside the gates you just flag it down was only approx 26 pence to either place or a taxi if you haggle was 5 Dinars (£2) but that was between 4 of us. There is also loads of minibus they are called Louarges that again you just put your hand out and the stop they are between 1 Dinar to 1.25 Dinar so about 40-50 pence and are a great way of getting about.
Sousse and Monastir always look a bit dirty but you dont see rubbish laying about and the bazar is so cheap if you are willing to haggle. We love it and think its part of the fun of the holiday. I am thinking of going into my local market and trying it not to sure it would work though.
We had a fab holiday and will be returning there again next year.

Cleanliness looks clean on first impressions but by all means your view on this will certainly be swayed when you look under your bed and in the places that are hidden for example, dead flys left behind curtains for days amd still there when departing and the pubic hairs and goodness knows what else under the beds when you accidently drop something.

Beach was in a good location but was full of rubbish in the sand and not ideal for your 1 year old baby to walk in!!

The resort is very quiet, just all hotels and beach, Though they do offer camel rides, Water sports ( which are very cheap) Horse riding ( which i did) is fantastic, about £7 for an hour. The sand is like sugar, very nice , but spoiled by all the fag ends left on the beach by all the smokers. The water is very clear and quite calm and safe for children as it dosnt go deep all of a sudden, you can walk out quite a way and still only be up to waist deep. For us it was just a relaxing, eat , drink and sleep, quiet week away which i enjoyed. Wish i was back there now.

Located between Cambrils and Salou.Half hour walk to both yet a world apart.Cam-tranquil and upmarket.Sal-lovely prom and harbour, but tacky bars a plenty.Beaches clean with shallow water, which does go deep after 20 yds or so.Visit Taragona about half hour on bus from hotel.Small City, with brill walks, cathedrall, and monuments.

The whole resort is very clean.
The resort animation team were excellent, however all guests would get bored between 4pm and 6pm leaving very little to do therefore it would be nice if the hotel management actually took notice of this. The beaches are disgusting and of the 40 British guests we had spoken to NOT one of them spent time at the beach after experiencing the following; The beach is quite narrow as a whole and "yes" the resort section is kind of separated, well more like to keep the camels from laying their hat...yes camels, their are hundreds of round furry lumps of camel poo everywhere on the beach, therefore walking along a thin stretch of beach was a mission. Now this is disgusting...The sewage system from all the hotels runs straight into the sea..YES I SAID SEA!!! and there were all sorts of floaty things going on...BEWARE YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED......

Its not really a resort..just a long road with hotels along it...the only thing available to do is Go Carting,or go in other hotels and see what they have on offer ! the beach was ok,a bit mucky looking and lots of seaweed, but water sports were many and very cheap,so if you want more life you should go to Sousse,or Kantoui for tranquility and prettyness !

Skanes is a beach front with a few hotels ... we were very happy with this, as it was quiet and really beautiful in our opinion. I have no complaints other than those minor ones listed above.

I would visit this hotel again.
