To far away from the main shopping area,s but do a few trips and you get to see a bit more. Take our advice and go on the reps caberet night briliant entertainment and well worth the money £12.00 each. There are a few shops and stalls on site. The Hotel and grounds were kept very clean at all times as was our room, clean towels every day bedding every other day.Dont believe all you read about this hotel,we have been on many holidays as were pensioners and have had a lot worse.

the tunisian rep from the shop arranged a free minibus to sousse and on the way we picked up two lovely english ladies from another hotel and on their advice agreed that two hours shopping there would be more than enough. that was quite an eye opener and if you are not used to haggling (which we were not) can be abit of a nightmare and quite an experience. they did give us advice about going to vist port el kantoui which we did and had a lovely meal and really enjoyed the atmosphere there. to sum up the holiday, we certainly would not go back to that hotel again but would definately go to tunisia with the knowledge that we now have.

beach nice and clean and lots to do on the beach, general area outside the hotel not so good nothing close to had so really everything was hotel based. but this was fine for us because it was such a large hotel that there was always something to do or somewhere to go.

The resort its self is just a series of hotels with no where to walk to at night for alternative food or shops.

The beach was covered in horse and camel poop so we tendered to avoid this which was pity.

We would not re-visit this resort due to nothing to do at night. On the second week we began to feel trapped and bored.

Our overall review of this hotal and location is dont go, find an alternative. We would not go back even if it was free.

Skanes itself is a typical north african resort. The beach area is not very clean, something that could be rectified with cleaning! We have been to this resort, not hotel may I add, before and it seems to have gone downhill over the past 3 years.

A Clean resort

Resort Entertainment by Animation, can take it or leave it, but they work very hard to ensure you have an enjoyable stay, it's down to you to accept any games or participate in any.

Beach - Very clean, and well kept, life guard on duty (Hotel Appointed) and is swept daily.

We will revisit next year!!

The hotel is not particularly close to anything but as we had been to Tunisia the previous year and done a little sight seeing and visiting local towns, this suited us fine. You'll enjoy this hotel if you are after a lazy, relaxing beach/pool holiday! There are plenty of trips that go from the hotel anyway and monastir is only a small taxi fare away.

Skanes is quite a strange resort for the average British tourist as there is nothing there apart from the hotels.
There is a small town called Sahline nearby where you can go to get essential supplies if necessary and the larger towns of Sousse and Monastir are close by and well served by Taxis, buses and trains.
If you are after a relaxing beach holiday then Skanes is ideal, but if you want places to walk and eat out then I'd go to Hammamet or Port El Kantoui instead.
