The best rooms to stay are typically the ones that are located nearer the strip. Like Nefeli for example. It was 2 minutes from the night life but when you wanted to recover it was also out of the way, sharing a personal swimming pool with neighbouring ho

Make sure you buy or have air conditioning when you go.
A lot of great places and bars to visit within 15mins walking distance. Gets very hot alot of people tend to hire quad bikes to get around.

Malia is very lively with lots of clubs and bars but Stalis is quiter with nice restaurants and nice beaches.

malia is amazing! the night life is unreal, the streets get cleaned every day. the people are great and friendly. the beach is amazing, music all the time, water is beautiful, bars right on the beach so you don't need to go very far for lunch or drinks. really a wicked place

resort was lovely and geared towards young people but too lively and rowdy to take kids.we hired e quad and its a good job as the beech was very far away. we visited the palace of malia which was fantastic. food was lovely and about the same price as home. shops were extremely expensive and designer shops sold fakes at designer prices.night life was class except for the scouts who became a nuisance.

The cleanliness of this resort was awful I don't know what else to say about it.
The entertainment was ok as I said there was a bbq in the hotel but as for around the area there was quite a few night clubs which was great.
The beach was absolutely gorgeous it is where me and my boyfriend went most of the time.

I have been to Malia many times and loved it. APart from the time above i have had some of the best holidays of my life. I recommened going but not to the Despoulla Studios.

I suspect that the resort livens up considerably as the season progresses and will be very much a younger persons resort.
There were many hundreds of scooters,m/bikes and quad bikes for hire, I don't see how the resort roads could handle such a volume of traffic safely. Ride with care!

the resort was great for us out of season but in the height of summer i would choose somewhere alot quieter. it is perfect for young groups of friends and young couples. the best food places were in the old town but there were some great bars in beach road. zoo was our favourite. nice decor and good service.

5th Visit to Malia and although this was the earliest in the year the touts were at their most persistant, perhaps because there were six of us and very little competition around. Actually saw a fight between two bars where customers were 'poached'.
If anyone goes there are some great bars and restaurants in the old town too, just across the road and please please please try the Elizabeth restaurant. Best food in Greece, friendliest welcome with free drinks and local cakes when you are done (but only if you leave a decent tip I think)

Malia is amazing there is aomething for everyone, and the food restaurants ae brilliant you've got everything from mcdonalds and subway to a lovely little chinese restaurant.
