We stayed for one week in June.

The hotel and room (a suite) was spotless. All balconies overlook the pool.

We stayed all inclusive and the food was fantastic. Every sort of breakfast you could think of, burgers, toasties, hot dogs cooked fresh. Lunch was served outside and one day incuded peppered steak with garlic mushrooms! Dinner was always fabulous with a huge selection.

We did not have much to do with the staff as had no reason to. The barstaff were lovely and always pleasant to the children.

We prefer to go out in the evening but stayed for the kids disco once - they all enjoyed.

We have already looked into going back next year.

We just came back from are holiday today. Ocean palace is a very well kept hotel.

The entertainment was brillient and all the staff and reps are very pleasent and friendly.

The location of the hotel wasnt brillient but there was a market on thursdays and saturdays just down the road.

The food was really nice but sometimes the chips where a bit soggy.

We stayed in the apartments and they where very well kept and cleaned everyday.

The kids club was excellent and the reps are brilliant with the kids.

After coming home from this holiday, I just had to tell all my friends who had families to go there.

Yes the hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the beach, but hey you get to walk past all the shops so what a good excuse.

The food was good a wide selection but staying there for 2 weeks you knew what you were having in your second week. Going All Incl gives you and your family a chance to have what you want when you want and know that you havent got to pay for it.

Hotel staff were fantastic, not a complaint there. Spoke very good english and replied to many requests.

The entertainment team, what can I say, they were brilliant, after all my husband Dave enjoyed every night, after entering every competition and wining the majority of them. You will find that they are young and do try very hard, ( you were young once) give them a chance.

Yes I would visit the hotel again but going in June the weather wasnt too clever so I would have to go in the hot season.

Just got back and had a fantastic time - Our son who is 7 didnt want to come home and got very upset as he loved the First Choice Entertainers who are full or energy and fun and kept us all amused for the whole week.

Our daughter of 18 months went to the creche for 2 sessions and was looked after very well as she found it hard to settle and got lots of cuddles from the qualified caring staff.

We are booking up for next year already and hope the Entertainer's dont move on as they are first class. Hotel staff were also very friendly and love children. Would recommend all inclusive deal as it was well worth the money and food also good for vegetarian's and children with a special small self serve buffet counter for them which was nice.

Just came back from a brillliant two weeks at the Ocean Resort. Got the holiday so cheaply that we were a bit worried about what to expect, but couldn't complain one bit. Tend to agree with some others that it perhaps should be a 3* or 3+* rather than a 4* but then again, can a family hotel ever really have the feel of a 4*? (and I think that sometimes at a 'posh' 4* you're worried about letting your kids enjoy themselves too much!) And it is definitely a family hotel, I don't think I'd recommend it to anyone without children.

Hotel is spotlessly clean and rooms were lovely. We had a suite in the main hotel but as we were all inclusive, we didn't really need the kitchen at all, but the fridge came in handy for storing drinks. We did have a couple of cockroaches in the bathroom but I think you could find this in any hotel. Also had to make up children's beds every time linen was changed which was a bit of a pain - maids just left us the sheets!

Pool area is lovely but, as others have said, does get really slippery. Our son fell over on the first day and fell onto a sunbed and got the best bruise ever!!

Food was fine. Maybe not as much selection as some hotels we've been too, but was nice all the same. Dinner and breakfast are served in the restaurant and lunch is served by the pool. You also get one meal at both the Italian and Bistro restaurants at the hotel during your stay.

Most important though - Our theory is that if the kids are happy, we are happy, and they were definitely happy! So much so that we had tears on our last day because they didn't want to go home. There is so much for them to do and they made loads of new friends (hello to all of them by the way!!). Our youngest went to the kids club nearly every day (up to three times some days) and our son kept busy with the daytime activities (football, water polo etc.). There was an older kids club which he went to a few times.

The evening entertainment is aimed at the children up until about 9.30. The entertainers worked really hard (hello Charlie, Katie, Matt & Stu if you read this - pictures will be e-mailed soon!). It was slightly repetative with a mini-disco, bingo and 'Challenge the Entertainer' every night, but then there were always two shows each night as well.

Would recommend the dolphin and whale boat trip (think it's called the VIP Freebird). It's a half-day trip on a catamaran and if you don't see any whales or dolphins they promise to give you another trip free. It wasn't cheap but as we won the bingo on our first night we treated ourselves! It was well worth every penny. We saw at least 20-30 dolphins and as many whales. They are not afraid and swim right up to the boat. It actually bought a lump to our throats as it is such a lovely sight. Was a little bit choppy though so take tablets if you think you might suffer.

Overall, we had a lovely two weeks. We always like to try different places when we go away, but if we got another good deal on the Ocean Resort, we'd definitely go back. The kids want us to book it again now!

We stayed all inc the food was good and varied but not 4* but we ate well, lunch time very basic food but again was nice. The drinks were great for me because I drink lager but the other half drank only Smirnoff vodka and the vodka they served was prety bad if you normaly drink the best! Apart from that we got by ok.

The hotel room was one of the best I have stayed in we had a suite and was very spacious with plenty room for our one year to play and good room for the cot. We go away twice a year this room was second to none!

The hotel was keep very clean and the rooms stayed clean also.

The hotel was a bit out the way but was in easy reach of the beach and bars nice walk after breakfast down hill but hard work coming back with baby, pushchair nappies, bags ect...... but when got back drank ice cold beer so worth the walk.

Creche staff first class and night entertainment was ok could be better, but alround very good holiday and thinking of going again May 07

This was my 1st AI holiday. Arrived at Ocean Palace after cancelling another hotel due to building work i.e. noise. Was really suprised at the cleanliness of the place in general. Our stay was for 2 weeks. I found the staff (Local and First Choice reps alike) to be really friendly and relaxed.

The food was very good and much better than I expected for an AI deal. It does help if you like fry ups in the morning and chips at tea-time!! But there were themed food nights such as Mexican 1 night, Indian the next etc. All the food I tried was well prepared and enjoyable.

The drinks on offer was a pretty good selection and the kids were also catered for well. The pools were clean and the surrounding area was cleaned every night so was always ready for the hard core sun bathers right after breakfast. There's plaent of loungers atc so no-one misses out on having somewhere to sit/lay.

The First Choice reps come round every hour offering some activities be it killer pool to football etc which offer a good chance to meet and get to know other people staying at the hotel (and pick up a few briuses via the football!). I foung the Reps to be a really good friendly bunch and I could name names but I wouldn't want any of them to get cocky eh SAM and CHARLY P!!!!!

The kids LOVED the Kids Club. The kids in my "tribe" were aged 8, 10, 12 and a 18 month old infant. All of them were welcomed into the kids club and it's a very safe way to get rid of them for a couple of hours as they are within yards walking distance away being looked after by a great bunch of Kids Club reps.

Food and drinks are available from Breakfast (9-11 I think) then outside id dinner at 1:00 with tea being served around 6:30-9:00 (ish). Snacks such as burgers , toasties etc are available by the pools and cooked fresh as you order inbetween all these meals.

The kids can help themselves to endless ice-creams and the adults and kids can have endless drinks from 11:00am til 12:00pm. SORTED!!!

The evening entertainment from the reps in the 'Disco bar' at night is all kid friendly but enjoyable fro all the parents too (especially after several Whiskys!) There's no smoking in this bar. Smokers have to walk 30 feet to the Irish Bar (?) Where it's pretty much only adults drinking with sports etc on the big TVs. All in all we all had a relaxing and quiet 2 weeks here.

I'd certainly recommend it and make sure you don't confuse the name of this hotel with The Ocean VIEW hotel which is right near the noise of Las Americas and doesn't look good at all. I'd give this hotel and the whole holiday in general 8-9 out of 10 if all you're looking for is to relax with the family and kids. I'm really cynical and fussy so my glowing review even suprised me!!!!

If you stay at the Ocean Resort, previously named the Ocean Palace/Nogal Beach and you pay for a 4 star holiday. Make sure when you book you are actually staying in a room in the hotel.

Otherwise, you will be stuck in a damp cold appartment (it was winter, but no heating). We were even more unfortunate to be under the water heating facilities for the whole appartment block, which woke us up at 5am and the condensation from this added to the dampness of the sheets in the room.

It's the first holiday I've ever been on where I was glad to be going back home, purely because of the poor accomodation. Certainly not what we thought we had paid for, and we clearly stated at the time of booking we wanted a 4 star room.

The rep will not help at all, as they know about this when you arrive and don't seem to care.

The food was really good on some days, and really average on others. Not enough choice for vegitarians, I had to ask for a special dish to be made for my wife on many occasions as there were no vegitarian choices, or just potatoes or peas. The freshly cooked steak and chicken was nice and the mexican night wasn't too bad. Food was not 4* standard on most days though.

The pools were freezing, even though the brochure says they are heated. Watch out for this.

There is no mexican restauraunt as advertised in the brochure. The italian was still being built whilst we were there (should be finished now), but doesn't help us much.

The hotel itself looked nice, it may have been a better holiday had we had a decent room in there.

The entertainment was excellent and the kids club guys were magic, it's a good place for the kids.

I wouldn't go back here though unless I was sure I was staying in the hotel and they sort their brochure out to reflect the facts on the holiday.

We went All Inc. for the first time and was very impressed with selection of food.

Our apartment was clean & bright, cleaned every day wih towel change every other day bedding once.

All staff were friendly & helpful at all times. We did'nt enjoy the entertainment as it was too geared up for kids for our liking.

Now that smoking is banned from entertainments you can only smoke in the irish bar which caters mainly for football fans. We would still stay here again.

This was the second time I have been to the Ocean Palace, now Ocean Resort and I would love to go back. The hotel is very beautiful and they make a real effort for xmas. It is a very clean hotel, you see the staff constantly cleaning it. It has only recently changed to All Inclusive and I didnt really think much of the food, there wasnt a great choice. I ate alot of Chips!

The bar staff are very friendly and you have to check out Roberto the best barman at the Ocean Palace!

The First Choice Entertainers, Gary, Sam and Kieran are absolutely fantastic. Very funny, lovely and talented lads. We didnt have any little children with us but I had to be at the front for the mini disco as they made it so entertaining. Im still singing Cartoon Heroes now! Dont miss any of the lads shows, especially when Gary is singing, he has an amazing voice.

We only went for a week but I enjoyed it so much I wish I was still there!
