The hotel provided excellent value for money. May be worth considering paying a little extra for a pool/sea view although we did not do this and the room was fine.

Malgrat de Mar is a pleasant resort with several shops and numerous gift shops but with little variety of choice.
There are a number of bars including English, Dutch, Irish, Spanish etc. There are also a couple of night clubs.
During our stay there were several reports of violence to tourists although we never saw any.

Te resort we stayed was nice plenty for family and entertainment its alivley area where I would go back but to a different hotel.

Resort Entertainment - this is good not far walking distance to shops , bars , clubs , beach etc...
Beach Standard - the beach was OK but a bit on the gritty side! it was clean and the water was always warm!!
This was our fourth stay in Costa Brava and we will continue coming to this resort because it is GOOD value for your money!!!!

The resort was pretty quiet at this time of year, but that wasn't really a problem, but there were still quite a few bars and shops open until the end of October, but then most of them shut for the winter, and it becomes a ghost town.
The beach is just shingle really, and isn't kind too the feet. You must be very careful when going in the sea, as within a couple of yards it shelves off steeply, and you can soon get out of your depth.
There are are plenty of resorts within a 5 mile radius, with a brilliant and cheap rail service that connects them all, and even continues to Barcelona, so there is usually something for everyone.

The resort of Malgrat de mar wasn't good at all.
Everywhere you went there was a terrible smell in the air.
There wasn't much to do for the kids and the beach was actually shingle and not very clean at all.

the resort of malgrat is a pleasant if not a little subdued one. it is not ibiza nor is it barcelona. you have access by train or by boat to go wherever you wish. i found it to be a relaxing place with lovely resturants and pleasant little streets. the main stretch that followed the beach was your typical stretch of bars that you would find on any costa.

There seems to be very little litter about.
There are plenty of hotels offering different entertainment and all are welcome to watch. There is also a lovely little train that takes you up into the mountains. It is a wonderful view during the day, but at night it looks great seeing all the lights.
New shower stations and toilets have been installed on the beach. I found no litter on any of my trips on the beach.

lovely quiet resort and typical old spanish type town. it was always kept spotlessly clean including the beaches. easy access for traveling to neibouring resorts as the train station is right in the middle of the town with a 30 minute service into barcelona or the other way into blanes and lorrett. lovely resort

Plenty to do in Malgrat plenty of shops bars and a dream for footie fans.
