We were very disappointed with our fortnight stay at this hotel.

Our rooms were very basic but clean apart from ants who stayed with us for most of our stay, even though we complained most days.

The dining room was more like a school canteen and we had to share our table with other guests. The food was nice but a bit samey and they couldn

We arived at 2 in the morning and then found out that you have to fill in a visitors visa, must admit we though if this is the way things are going to be we have chosen the wrong place, how ever we were definitely proved wrong.

We were taken to our room the porter helped with our bags, it was a bit on the small side, but lets be honest you are only going to sleep there, but it was clean and the airconditioner was working very well something which we were very glad of over the two weeks cause it got very hot.

Breakfast was continental as was a lot of the food and although I could not find fault with the standard ( my wife and I are both chefs ) I must admit at the end of two weeks the repetion of dishes was a bit too much.

The pool was nice and the first week it was quite, the second week it was a lot busier but you could still swim about, the only problem with the pool area we found was that there wasn't enough sun beds, we just took it in turns to get up early and reserve ours.

The entertainment staff worked very hard at getting games sorted out, we are not in to games and just like to chill after a couple of days they stopped asking us if we wanted to play games and just chatted to us which was nice.

The only dissapointment on the entertainment front was the kids club which our children went to once and wouldn't go back afterwards. The evening entertainment was a laugh if you want a professional production go to the west end but it certainly was fun.

The beach was just outside the grounds, with free sailing sea kyacks and pedlows, which were all in very good condition and the staff were very helpful with advice, life jackets and muscle to get the things in and out of the sea.

The only snag we hit was the fact the beer pumps are slow, but this kept my wife amused given me abuse over it.
The local people were fantastic and we bought a lot of bargins whislt out there, don't be afraid to haggle and offer quite a bit lower than first asked for you never know it may pay off it did for us.

Going back to Tunisia next year but not to Hammamet not that there is anything wrong it's lovely it's just we want to see some where else, but we both agree on one thing we would have no hesitation recommending Dar kyam to anyone

I've been to this hotel now 3 times that last time on my own but the people I met there were so nice that I wasn't alone for long. Also the staff remembered me and made me feel very welcome.

The hotel has had a recent facelift and is a lot more pleasant to stay in. The food was excellent on all 3 occassions with plenty of choice for all. The location is perfect with the pool just outside the hotel or if you prefer the beach is about a 2 minute walk away. All the staff in the hotel and working outside are very nice, pleasant and helpful especially the entertainment team who are plentiful and hard working.

On the beach there are free pedalos, windsurfing and sailing if you have done this before by yourself but the instructor took us out as we hadn't done it. Paragliding is also very cheap and an exhilerating experience.

After reading reviews about the hotel before I went the first time I was very dubious about going but can assure you that it is a perfect holiday for singles, couples, families and groups. I would recommend this holiday to anyone who wants a relaxing holiday or wants to join in with the activities.

We looked at this website after we had booked our holiday, and like others, went thinking it wouldn't be up to much but that we would make the most of it anyway. What can I say.......for those of you who have written negative reports, I would like to ask what you expect a good holiday and resort to offer you??!!!

Travelling from the airport in the day we wondered where we had come. It seemed like we had been transported to Iraq and thought we may have made a bad choice. However, when we arrived at the hotel it looked fantastic. It has a grand entrance and looked more like a 5* hotel than a 3*. T

The hotel was spotless and the rooms were basic but adequate. (cleaners improved this by arranging flowers on bed and making shapes out of our daughters clothes!) There was lots of food and salads to choose from and as well as buffet style, there were 2 chefs cooking 2 new dishes each night. The waiter we had (Moncef) was very good and after a few days had our drinks (which were supposed to be self service)waiting on our table each time we went to eat.

The location is good with a 20 minute walk to some restaurants etc. If you do eat out we thouroughly recommend La Terrese, out the gates and turn right for 15 min walk. Nicest looking restaurant I've ever sat inside and 2 course meal for 2 with wine was about 20 quid.

The entertainment team were brilliant, especially Ali and Negie. They helped bring a lot of people together but weren't in the least bit pushy. The evening Bingo and entertainment is good fun, and helped bring all nationalities together.

To sum up, we had a fantastic holiday and met some brilliant, brilliant people. The weather was great, the food and drink was good, the beach is beautiful and the quad biking and banana boats are things you've definately got to try. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this as a holiday whether you have kids or not. Even thinking of getting another week in September.

Before I go....if you're the bloke that went on the trip to the sahara....and moaned and moaned and moaned and moaned about sand being the only thing you could see out of each side of the bus.....and moaned about the food asking "all I want is some grated cheese".....and moaned about not being able to have salad as they had cucumber in it....and moaned to everyone about everything!!!....cheer up and stop trying to make other people as miserable as you....you grumpy grumpy man!! There....I've been wanting to say that for a while!! Hello to Forest Kenny and Okaaaaayyyy to everyone else we met!

We went all inclusive only to find that every time you wanted something you had to pay for it.

My wife is diabetic and we requested a fridge, when we asked why it was not in the room we were told they had non. Diet drinks were not available and when we asked for them we were told we could go buy our own.

Sunbed mats were an axtra 1.5td per day each or 7td for a book of 7 we were not told about the books.

The bar staff were very reluctant to give a good measure of spirit and they doled out ice at one cube per drink. Snacks were available at 1000hrs (croisants from breakfast) and 1600hrs bread rolls cheese salami and some tomato if you were lucky along with cold spagetti and cold pizza.

The food was plentiful if not always edible and we found that if it was left from lunch it usually apeared again at dinner and again the next day with curry.

Ice cream was only available during meal times not as in the brochure "all day". Arcade games for the kids were all chargeable including pool.

Be carefull of people selling food and trinkets on the hotel grounds they DO NOT work for the hotel even if they have a red coat on and a badge, and they will DEMAND payment if you have anything ie doughnuts. It's no use going to the hotel security as he gets a cut from the sales people.

I must give praise to Mamouttour the waiter he was first class and anticipates your drinks and has them ready when you dine. He is well worth a tip.

When we arrived, it was dark, so there wasn't too much to see from the outside. Inside the main entrance it was large, airy and clean. The hotel maintainance man carried our luggage up to our room for us, up 4 flights of stairs! Lovely man!

The room was a good size and spotlessly clean. The sheets were arranged in a fan pattern, which was repeated every day of our stay, sometimes with flowers too.

We went straight down to see what was happening at 11.30 in the evening, to find there was food available at the pool area until 12.30 and the bar was open till 1am. The staff were very helpful and made sure we had everything we wanted.

The restaurant was large and clean, and every area had its own waiter. We were allocated our own table for the duration of our stay. There was a large selection of food available, all very good, but it did get a bit sameish towards the end of the 2 weeks. It was my birthday while we were there, and our waiter put flowers on the table for our evening meal that day.

It was a 90 minute transfer from the airport, but it was well worthwile when we got there. Only a 4 dinar taxi trip into Hammamet or Nebul, where there is loads going on. There are plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance, and a water fun park 2 minutes away.

The staff were wonderful, couldn't be more helpful. The shower broke in my daughters room and was fixed straight away when we reported it at the main desk.

The entertainment, or animation team, were brilliant. Can't praise them enough!! They worked so hard from 9am till midnight, keeping us all busy and entertained. The evening shows were really good, and the guests were invited to take part in some of the shows, resulting in a really funny evening!

Many thanks (I don't think so) to the moron who threw Nagel into the pool fully clothed, ruining his mobile phone and personal belongings.

Congratulations to Makram, Iman, Rio, Nagel, Ali and the rest of the team for making our hoiliday so much fun and giving us so many lovely memories.

If we ever went to Tunisia again, we would definitley choose this hotel. Everyone was fantastic!

I can't say anything bad about this holiday it was one of the best holidays I have ever been on! The hotel was continuously clean you never see rubbish or dirt anywhere, the room maids are lovely and always left our room spotless, they arranged our bed sheets in a fan and we had flowers on our bed the majority of the time.

The food was nice and there was a good range we only ate out a couple of times as there wasn't really the need to as the food was so good!

The location of the hotel is great it is close to all the main attractions, town and markets. If you ever had to get a taxi for any reason that was fine too because it is so cheap.

The staff at the hotel are lovely and are there if you need anything. The shower in our room broke and within the hour of reporting it, it was fixed.

I can't praise the entertainment staff enough because they are all such lovely people and made us feel welcome and treat us like friends. They all work so hard and you never hear them moan you can see that they enjoy their work. They work such long hours but still find time to rehearse for shows which they perform in the evening and every show I saw I thought they were great and the comedy shows were hilarious.

All I can say is thank-you for making this experience a great one!

I cant fault the hotel at all! It was amazing!

When we got there (11.30pm), I thought there wouldn't be anything open, I was wrong. There is an outside bar which was open till 1am and food set out for everyone.

The rooms were really clean. The maids set a sheet out on our beds in a fan shape, they even put flowers on the beds! They were really nice women.

The people who worked at the hotel were constantly cleaning so there was never a mess or litter anywhere.

The food was really nice. There was a waiter at every food station to help you if needed. They were very polite and always smiling.

The entertainment team were AMAZING!! They were up and around the pool by 8am. They kept children and adults entertained right the way through the day till gone midnight.

A couple of the entertainment crew will definatly stick in my mind forever, they include:
Imen, Ali, Nagi, Meher, Makrem (okaaaay!), Walid, Rio, Latif. (Hi guys!!)

The hotel was in an excellent location, very close to shops, markets and a water park.

I would definatly visit again in the not to distant future. It was the best holiday I've ever been on.

I recommend it to people of all ages!!

This was the first time we travelled abroad with our 1 year old son, needless to say we were apprehensive about many things, but it was proved throughout the holiday we need not have been.

Thomas Cook made this a most enjoyable time, especially aided by the holiday rep in the hotel, who is a total credit to the company.

After reading many reviews on this hotel and Tunsia we were very surprised by the warmth and friendliness of the hotel staff and Tunisians.

We would throughly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling with a young child. Although the transfer was over an hour from airport to hotel, the rep understood this and made it interesting by explaining a lot about the area on route.

When we arrived at the hotel the room had already got a cot for our son, however a down side would be no lift, and with a little boy who is is just learning to walk this proved hard work carring him up and down 2 flights of stairs, but did keep us both fit!!

Food was plentiful and of a good standard, the chefs made the presentation and fresh cooking as you order, a interesting addition to the dining experience. Drinks were always available with no or little queuing, the brands of alcohol tasted fine with measures more than adequate. My only constructive point on this would be a faster beer pump!

The entertainment staff proved a value in their own right, with good shows each night (although not up to west end standard, but this was not expected) I may add that we have never seen the story of Aladdin told using such an interesting meathod.

This pool area was always kept clean and proved to be a big central point for enterainment - I have returned with the desire to now take up waterpolo, but not volleyball!.

Location of the hotel was great if you require little interaction from the outside world, but is ideally situated for a small taxi ride in to the local town (about

This was our first time in Tunisia and after reading reviews we were prepared for anything.

We got there at midnight and were given a room up 4 flights of stairs. The porter refused to let us take even our hand luggage he carried the whole lot. The next day we awoke to the most spectacular view of the sea and could hear lots of fun by the pool so decided to take a look.

The animation team were up and about playing games and keeping all the kids busy whatever their age and my 5 year old daughter who never usually joins in on holiday was approached by Cecile the younger group
