We arrived at 3am and allocated a lovely room down by the beach, it had a separate bedroom and bathroom for the kids.

The food was plentiful and the waiters and chefs were very friendly and helpful. The only criticism we had was the snack bar,it had the same food every day and it was not always very warm.

The hotel entertainment team were excellent, very hard working throughout the day and night. Both kids enjoyed the hotel run kids club, giving them a break from the sun and the pool. This hotel is one of the best all inclusive hotels we have been in and would consider going back again next year.

I stayed at the hotel over christmas and new year with 3 friends. The hotel is clean, with great food. The staff are friendly and helpful.

The animation team are friendly and keep everyone occupied. The evening shows are great fun, they work hard for the tourists. The animation team has changed since I went to the Dar Khayam, but we still stay in contact and I returned to Tunisia christmas 2005 and had a great time!!!

If your into nightlife visited the cheers bar where they do karoke or for a dance go to latino's it a good night out. You will get your money's worth.

But bear in mind that the ratio of men to women is very high, so when you go to these places it is 20 men to 1 woman. Its alright if your single!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The hotel was OK as we knew it was a 3 star and didnt expect Buckingham Palace. The bedding wasn't up to much.

In the week we stayed there, there was either chicken or beef stew for lunch/dinner. One day there was Turkey along with Chicken and Beef Stew.

Hotel Staff were very pleasant indeed.

Entertainment Staff not so pleasant.

I would never visit that hotel again.

We only got back from this hotel a week ago and already I wish I was back there!

The rooms were extremely basic, but as you only need them to wash and sleep in who cares?! The view from our balcony when we woke up the next morning more than made up for it! Word of warning though - if you ask for a room with a sea view, you overlook the pool and the music starts at 9 each morning!

The food was a bit repetitive but we really enjoyed it. They put a lot of Tunisian dishes such as Cous-cous and Tunisian omelettes on the menu. However, if you dont eat red meat you may be disappointed as there is only one chicken dish a day and they dont eat pork.

The only thing we were disappointed with was the choice of alcohol. You can tell Tunisians aren't heavy drinkers - their spirits are like paint stripper and the beer was quite weak!

The entertainment team are fantastic - they wont push you if you dont want to join in and there is plenty of activities to do throughout the day.

Watersports on the beach are extremely cheap -

This was our first time in Tunisia and our first time all inclusive. We usually go to Greece so we know what basic means, but we felt like cancelling after reading some previous reports, we are glad that we did not.

The hotel was basic but clean. The reception area was good tables kept tidy.
The bedrooms cleaned every day for the week we were there, towels & bedding. Never saw the cleaner but always made a fan on our beds with our night wear, and left the occasional flower.
Pool area tables kept clean.
No sign of any cockroaches (or you would of heard me scream all the way from Tunisia). Only problem was the flies if you were sitting around the pool area, which could drive my husband insane, but I said I would rather have them opposed to wasps!.
Beach was lovely and a relaxing change to the pool area (and hardly any flies)as could get noisy with the animation team antics even though we did have hours of fun watching them. Free sun beds slight pester from sellers but they did take no for an answer. The walk down to the beach is lovely always gardeners about. The indoor pool was good to go in as usually there would only be a couple in there at a time.
Food was plentiful nothing to complain about I thought there was something there for every one, we did try some carved beef one night and it was lovely.
Did not watch the evening entertainment except for the last night Micheal Jackson night the animation team had worked very hard with it they did a fantastic job.
Only went on the camel trip with latif which every one enjoyed. Never went out of the complex at all apart from the local shops, as we were there for a quiet week as I can not stand hassle and we got varying reports from other guests so we decided not to venture out.
On departure we payed

We booked a late deal through Sunset so were not particularly look at staying in Tunisia. As it turned out it was one of the best holidays we have had and well worth the money. We checked all the reviews before we left - good and bad - so were quite apprehensive until we got there.

The hotel cleanliness was excellent. The lady who cleaned are room left flowers on the pillow and made animals out of our sons clothes. Generally the hotel was always kept clean. Although the rooms could do with a bit of a refurb.
Hotel food was good, especially for adults. We did struggle with the variety for our toddler, but with chips, potatoes and pizza served every day, he never went hungry. Plenty of water, juice and alcohol available. We thought that ice cream would be available all day, but it was just at meal times.

Hotel Location - excellent, our room overlooked the sea and was really quiet - no loud pubs/clubs playing music all night. The beach is a minute walk. The beach and sand are clean and safe. Their is a lifeguard on duty all day. We didn't see one jellyfish!

Hotel Staff - Excellent - really friendly and efficient. We were warned that it would be the start of Ramadan while we were there so service may be slow - but we had no problems.

Entertainment - again excellent. The animation team work all day, and of their shows the Micheal Jackson Tribute is not to be missed. We didn't know where they got all their energy from.
All the team are great with the kids!
You were not forced to do anyhting you didn't want to.
As to whether we would go their again - are already looking for September next year!

After reading previous posts we were very apprehensive about our holiday.

On arrival after a long days travelling our first impressions were not good. After a drink at the bar (in a plastic cup) we decided to take stock the next morning.

The next day we opened our window to a great view of the sea and things seemed a lot better. The rooms do need a refurb but as long as you don't expect the Ritz you will have a comfortable bed to sleep in and a really good shower.

The rooms are cleaned regularly with fresh towels. If you wanted anything you only had to ask at reception where the staff were alwys helpful.

The location could not be better. Two mins from beach and 10 mins by taxi to Hammamet centre between 4/6 dinars (2 or 3 pounds), more after 9p.m.

The hotel food was good, always a good selection which was good news for my daughter (she is 10) and my wife who is vegetarian.

The animation team made everyone welcome and didn't hassle anyone who just wanted to relax.

So far as visiting again I would not put anyone off but I would not go back as there is too much of the world to see.

Are very nice and polite. The entertainment team are fantastic people particularly Abdul, Bob and coco
They work very hard so that you enjoy your holiday {They
Do a Michael Jackson night which if brilliant]

The restaurant staff always friendly and very polite.
The food choice was excellent and always plenty of it.
Hotel Dar Khayam has direct access to a lovely beach[They have their own all inclusive bar at the beach,
Fantastic]

My children thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor pool, it is
Big and they clean twice a day.
Hotel maid was very nice would always put flowers on
Your bed. You have clean towels and bed linen every day.

We are going back next year.

Two things I would like to point out this is a very
Good 3 star hotel.

Bar staff and maids do expect a tip but remember they
Work very long hours for very little money,

I recommend this holiday to anyone wanting an above
Average holiday for average money.

The Hotel is in a perfect location and is very clean. The rooms are basic but the rest of the hotel grounds more than makes up for it.

The maids come in every morning are are very friendly. You always come back to your nightwear arranged with a fresh flower on the bed and clean towels.

The staff are fantastic and we were never expected to give a tip.

The restaurant has plenty of choice for food and there is always food available at the Pool snack bar. The alcohol is a bit limited but there is draught beer, plenty of wine and spirits such as Vodka, Whisky and Gin, with various soft drinks and juice.

The Entertainment is brilliant for both children and adults. There is plenty to do during the day with various activities and the nights, although the same order etc, are fantastic. The animation team are amazing and work very hard, constantly smiling and being friendly to everyone. Even at our age we joined in with the 'Kids Disco' and learnt all of the dance steps!.

We didn't want to leave in the end and are already planning our return next year.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel as it was the best holiday I've had.
