Booked this holiday as a last minute deal and was surprised how nice it was, it is only basic but that was fine for us.
Staff cannot do enough for you, Jean and Terry were amazing,the quiz on Thursday night with Jean is really good.
The young lad who cleans the pool, gardens, windows etc is an absolute credit to the Platomare.
Situated in a really good place espically when the coastal path is finished.
Enjoyed it that much we are thinking of going back in May.
For good pub grub try Del's Bar or Knights Pub.
For a nice meal you must try the Blue Spice & Mojito's.

we have just come back from the most fantastic holiday we have ever had in cyprus, being stalwart veterans of the pernera area. cleanliness was fantastic, maids came in every morning and cleaned and replaced loo rolls, towells and sheets changed twice a week. location of this hotel is fantastic as its within easy reach of the main resort of protarus, but lovely and quiet if you want some peace. the appartment we were given was perfect with pool and sea views. the pool guy worked really hard every morning to clean and sanitise the pool. we only had one meal in the hotel. we had booked self catering, but decided to upgrade to bed and breakfast when we got there, at a very reasonable price. good choice of food and you could have unlimited top ups of coffee or tea, so you could sit and enjoy the pool view if you wanted. staff were exemplary, especially jean on reception, couldnt be more helpful. also the guy who served us breakfast every morning and had to put up with my husbands jokes lol. we cant wait to book again for next year.

well what can I say...... not a lot really apart from the weather!!
the Plato Mare is stuck in a 70's time warp!! Really old fashioned basic apartments. You have to pay 5 and a half euro's a night for air con - needless to say we didn't bother although my daughter had to have a fan in the lounge part so she could at least sleep with the heat! Most of the staff were nice apart from the ower who had no manners whatsoever and when he was on reception everything was an effort and was thrown at you over the counter!! (he needs to remember that people like me keep his business going!!)manners maketh the man!!

this was the third time we have visited the platomare hotel and as always we enjoyed it.we have many wonderfull memories of cyprus but mainly of jean & terry on reception who can not do enough to make the holliday enjoyable also of thea and yiannis who are always on hand to help with any problem, but the best thing about the platomare is making the efort to speak to the owner plato and his wife maria who have now become very good friends of myself and my whole family what a friendly and helpfull person he realy is.
we find that the hotel is everything we need on holiday its clean,close to the bars in protaras,the staff are all very friendly,entertainment is fun with jean and her quiz nights and if we cant be bothered going out to eat we eat in which we find better value,
and in short yes we will be going back.

the hotel was spotless and the gardens were kept very well pool was always clean, well kept gardens and fabulous bourganvilla in the car park
quiet location except for the Papantonia hotel something should be done about that place far to noise comes out of there every night.
staff very accommadating and friendly
Did not stay in the hotel of a nighttime so I cannot comment.
Yes we would come again only critisim rearly is we booked in February and asked for seaview we got a seaview from the side of our room and lots of noise from Papantonia. People who had booked on the last minute got better rooms. This cant be right surely

my first time in cyprus,plato mare appartments were nice and clean esecially the pool area ,the young guy worked hard from morinign till night cleaning the pool ,cutting the grass and other things ,the staff are friendly a,the rooms i found were very basic and would of been great with a microwave and a few more pots and pans,rooms were cleaned everyday but sheets got changed once in the two weeks we was there,above all a very good place to stay

We have stayed at the Platomare for quite a few years now. It's a hidden gem. It's in a quiet area with plenty of restaurants, shops etc thats within walking distance. You don't have to walk far to a lovely little beach. The staff are always polite, considerate and very helpful. The hotel is very clean in fact its cleaned every day. We don't eat much in the hotel but when we do it's lovely. The family who own the hotel are second to none. We can't wait to see you all again in August Jean, Terry, Cath, Thea etc. See you soon, Dave, Moira and Gayle or Julie as I'm usually called!

We stayed in these apartments they was very clean fresh towels etc everyday room cleaned every day,we ate out a lot but the lunches was good,the apartments are right next to shops and the beach and the bars, and the staff are very friendly i am staying here again in september 09 as are all my familey as im getting married there.

We found the staff very helpful and friendly, the accommodation was very spacious with lovely sea/pool views from our balcony, although we feel the accommodation is in need of an upgrade as it is quite tired and dated. The pool and gardens were beautifully clean, tidy and attractive. There are lovely beaches within a short walk and without having to cross any busy roads. The only downside was that some nights there was a lot of noise from a nearby hotel.

This was our 3rd visit to Cyprus and on all occasions staying at "The Plato Mare" once again we could not fault the service, friendlyness, helpfullness or attitude of any member of staff or family member from the "Plato Mare" starting with the greeting given to us by Thea on getting off the bus, and Plato's warm and friendly smile as we booked in at reception, Jean as usual gave 100% on the very enjoyable quiz night,
Yiannis as usual demonstrated his cooking skills with some well presented meals, the cleaners where in every day to make sure you didnt need anything.
But most of all we had a fantastic time at a fantastic hotel with fantastic people expecilly "The Hills" and The Dover Clan. We will definatly be back again next year. xxxxxxx
