Rooms and bed linen where changed every day.
Food was very good, location was near shops restaraunts.
One member off staff was very rude.
Will be back next year.

the staff at the platomare hotel could not be friendlier. this will be the 7th time that we have visited cyprus and the 3rd time at the platomare. after finding this little jewel by accident we wouldn't go anywhere else. all have become good friend especially yannis, thea, catherine, jean and terry. at some points we wouldn't have known what to do without them. what a find. family run this hotel has got it all

This is our fourth time here, we have been in both blocks twice and always found it clean and friendly.One year we had a top floor balcony overlooking the noisy adjoining hotel and actualy found their antics an enjoyable part of the holiday.
The rooms are cleaned daily the sheets and towels twice weekly, the pool is probably the cleanest outdoor one ive used and always has sunbeds free.The overall cleanliness was the original reason for our return but we have found the friendly and helpful staff are an added bonus, this making the thought of going anywhere else nonexistent.
I must confess I have cheated on the entertainment score as really there isnt any (okay karaoke can be a laugh) but we would both happily go just to take part in the quiz run by the delightful Jean (wednesdays have a laugh winning is not the point, honest).
Personally its provided some of our most enjoyable holidays.

After reading some reports we were expecting a bit of a dive but actually it was very nice, the air conditioning was a bit loud, but I use earplugs anyway so once they were in it was fine! The rooms were cleaned everyday too. If other people want to pull their fridges out in their rooms to clean behind them, then thats their lookout, personally, I've got better things to do! We arent in to sunbathing so we found the location almost perfect, right in between protaras or pernea and just up the road from the beach so we could go on plenty of walks. the poolside was one of the best we have been to and the pool itself was divine when the temp got a bit too hot. Most of the staff were lovely, especially Jean who was ever so friendly and gave us a lot of info, but there was a couple of staff who wouldnt even give you the time of day and bordered on being extremely rude. Overall we had a great time and would definately reccommend it to others.

We arrived at dawn and were pleasantly surprised with the views we had from our room, we had only expected an inland view, instead we had views of the beautiful sea and the pool, we were delighted.
The rooms were spacious and we found little extras like a tea towel, things which we have never had provided for us where we've stayed before.
The bathroom had a bath with a shower over, which we liked, there was ample toilet paper, as soon as one roll was used up, another was replaced as the spare, where we have stayed before we have only ever been provided with one toilet roll per stay, once that was gone you had to buy your own.
Its worth knowing that you can borrow from reception,hairdryers, irons, 3 pin plug adapters (for mossie plug ins) we didn't realise that Cyprus has 3 pin plugs just like here, but if you need to keep the weight down in your suitcase its really handy to know, we even borrowed scales from reception to weigh our luggage for the return journey.
The staff were lovely and friendly and couldn't do enough for you,you only had to ask, especially Jean and Catherine. The pool was immaculate, the young lad there never stopped cleaning the area, first thing in the morning and last thing at night he would be out there checking the water and tidying the sunbeds which there were plenty enough for everyone and they were free.
We don't go on holiday for entertainment, we just like a nice quiet relaxing break, so we found the level of entertainment just enough for us, Karaoke and Quiz night which you are not at all pressurised in to.
The Platomare was far better than we had ever imagined it to be, if you want a really relaxing holiday away from all the stresses and strains, then this is the place to come to, we will definately be back again.

We have been coming to these apartments for the last 15 years. Of all the holidays we have had, you cannot get a warmer reception than you do at the Plato Mare. The owners and the staff especially Catherine,Jean, Yanis and Thea make this a home from home.
The apartments are cleaned on a daily basis and if you have any problems, a quick call to reception and any problems are fixed immediately.
The standard of food is excellent. The pool area and the gardens are immaculate.
Every year that we go back more and more of our family and friends want to come with us. Its great. See you all next year

After listening to my mum and dad going on and on about the Plato-Mare i decided to see for myself what they were raving on about.
And i couldn't agree with them more. I'm 25 yrs old and thought i would be in Ayia Napa every night, Wrong i loved the Plato-mare, the pool was brilliant the staff were so friendly especially, Jean, Catherine, Yiannis and Thea. They all loved my mum so accorded me the same welcome. I m going back in April 08 and hopefully later in 08 as well. What a wonderful hotel.
And i couldn't agree with them more. we booked late so our choice was limited but we where highly delighted with our choice, family run hotel whose staff couldnt do enough for you we didnt eat agreat deal at the hotel but what we had was very good.pool and gardens are kept clean and tidy the lad whose job it was never seemed to go home always busy.the hotel is a short walk to local bars and resteraunts and only 10 mins walk to the busier part of pernera,you must try the spare ribs at speedy gonzalez the y are fantastic.we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the platomare and have already booked to go back yhere next year

Having read previous reports on the Platomare we were expecting quite a lot more from these apartments, especially cleanliness of rooms. On arrival in our room we were very surprised and upset to find that the floor around and behind the beds did not seem to have been cleaned in months never mind weeks. We mentioned this to the rep and reception who sent the cleaner straight out - however all she did was mop around the bed and left - leaving most of what was originally there.
We also had to remove cockroaches from the room - at one point having to pull out the fridge slightly to finally get one of them, you would not believe what was under there, We cleaned it up ourselves. We also had to fumigate the room ourselves as one of the hotel staff couldnt be bothered to do it - he just shrugged it off.
When we complained to the rep about the state of the floor after cleaning her answer was that most apartments in Cyprus were like this due to the cleaning fluids used - totally untrue we have been to many hotels /apartments in Cyprus and never come across this before.
To be totally fair we must point out though that guests staying in the other block of apartments had no complaints at all about the cleaners - maybe there are 2 teams and we got the one that couldnt be bothered
The pool area of the apartments is kept very clean and tidy - as are the general public areas of the apartments.
Most of the staff seem friendly enough but can become quite abrupt when faced with complaints.
In all we think these apartments are becoming very tired and dated and could do with a refurbishment. We had no problems other than the cleaners and generally had a nice holiday. If the apartments were updated and cleaned better we may return but we have stayed in many far better apartments in protartas / pernera for the same money.

The cleaners dont know what a broom is for, in the 2weeks we stayed there the room was not sweept once, in the bathroom all they did was mop over dust.There was a toffee lolly stuck on the stairs all the time we was there.Only people that was friendly was Paul and Andrew behind bar,the owners didnt give you the time of day.
