Just back from a fortnight at the Bitzaro Grande, lovely hotel. We could not find any fault, very clean.

Staff were very friendly and keen to help, always a smile on their faces regardless of long working hours.

So many moans about the food, there was always something to choose from, wish they had repeated some of their salads, but they were never the same. Well done kitchen staff, you catered for all types.

Pool was clean and welcoming especially in that heat, though had to get out early to get sunbeds with parasol.

Entertainment usual Hi De Hi stuff, needs a good look at.
Ok planes do come low but does not spoil holiday.

I really recommend this hotel.

Stayed in this hotel in June 2006. We went as a family hotel of 27 people, all of the rooms were very clean. The food was fresh and plenty and the snack bar for the daytime was perfect for the children and adults.

The hotel was located about 5 minute walk to the beach although it is not a good beach. It is also only 5 euros to Lagnas in a taxi and all its shops and bars.

We found the staff very welcoming and friendly.

The entertainment was the usual Bingo, Karoke etc..

We would definitely go back to this hotel as we cannot really fault it.

Hotel very clean, spacious and plenty of sunbeds available all day even in June. Room adequate for the 2 of us although bathroom could do with an update.

Food!! Breakfast almost the same every day and there's no chance of getting toast. Lunch & dinner had only about 3-5 main dishes per night and a poor salad selection. Busy nights they take your room number and try to make you share tables because the dining room is pretty small, some people were even having to wait to eat. We ate out most nights because of this and found local restaurants very good especially Mermaids mmm.

Bar is good although there was only one barman on most nights and there was usually a massive queue.

One bad point is checkout times. I know lots of hotels you have to vacate rooms by 12pm on day of departure but our flight was 6am next morning and hotle does not supply a wash/ change room so we were hot and sweaty on our flight home - nice. Also luggage is left in reception on checkout days, not the safest place - surely a 4* hotel could find a more secure place?

All in all hotel is nice but food bad so I would not recommend All-Inc.

We stayed 7 days all inclusive at the Bitzaro Grande hotel , and considering the price we paid , we were delighted .

The hotel is relativly new ,therefore everything is in mint condition and is kept spotlessly clean. You cannot fail to be impressed by the beautiful entrance to the hotel and the reception area.

The pool area is even better , probably the best pool area we have come across in the med.The rooms are fine , despite the heat outside , they were comfortable to live in .

The food is of a very good standard, plenty of choice and plenty of it, even the snacks from the snack bar are very good.

All the staff at the hotel are very polite and will do anything to help you have a good holiday.

Kalamaki as a resort is quite quiet , but has plenty of bars and restaurants and the usual shops to please almost everyone.

The beach at Kalamaki is a bit disappointing, it is not the prettiest or commercialised of beaches so we tended to stay around our pool , and with the pool area so good you can hardly blame us.

The hotel is on the flight path to Zakynyhos airport and the planes do fly in very low over the hotel when landing , great for plane spotters ,but this will not put you off your holiday .

What might put you off is the journey home ,Zakynthos airport really is a joke ,an experiance that has to be seen to be believed .on arrival at the airport you have to wait outside in the heat for possibly uo to an hour to check in because the airport is so small, and when you finally get through to the departure lounge there is not enough seats for everyone. A word of warning , dont buy anything from the snack bar as it is very expensive.A new terminal building is currently being built , and not before time.

We would definatly go back to Zakynthos and the Bitzaro Grande , hope you enjoy your holiday as much as we did.

I booked this hotel direct myself because it was working out a lot cheaper than booking through travel agents.

We enjoyed our holiday and we were pleased with the hotel apart from the first night we were allocated a room above the bar and we could not get any sleep until about 2.30am!

Being our first night we were quite tired from the travelling and all we wanted was a little peace and quiet but unfortunately being a friday night it was kareoke until at least 12.30am and then everyone stayed up drinking after that!

Next morning we went straight down to reception and asked to be moved and thankfully we moved to a much quieter room at the other end of the hotel.

We were staying at the hotel for breakfast only but most mornings we didn't have breakfast we went out to eat because we thought the food was very poor for what they rate a four star hotel? we have had better food at three star hotels.

The pool area was lovely, probably the best in the med Ihave ever had and what I liked was there was no reserving of sunbeds early on a morning and there was always a sunbed available anytime of the day.

Overall a nice hotel, I would return but room only (would definitely not recommend all inclusive)!

We stayed all inclusive for two weeks, the hotel was very clean, with the rooms being cleaned each day.

The food was very good on most occasions, although breakfast was the traditional over cooked eggs, fatty bacon etc. The snack bar food was cooked to order and was of good quality.

The hotel is quite close to the airport and there is some noise, but this is not sufficient to ruin your day. The pool area is clean, and there are plenty of sunbeds, although we did find towels where put out quite early.

The staff where very friendly, especially the reception staff (Anna).

The entertainment was poor, although they did try their best, don't expect much at night apart from bingo and the odd quiz, with some Greek dancing thrown in.

We would have no problems going back to this hotel.

On arrival we were very warmly greeted by Anna on reception. Our room was allocated quickly and efficiently.

The room was excellent very clean and spacious and overlooking the pool area.

Food was excellent not to repetetive as in may hotels. We paid extra and upgraded to all inclusive which was well worth it.

The hotel location couldn't have been better you had a short stroll into Kalamki and a bus or taxi ride into Lagana.

Entertainment was limited and a bit repetetive but like any holiday you have to join in and make the best of it...and we certainly did !!!!

I would recomend this hotel to families and couples and I would have no problem returning.

To be honest the hotel was disappointing. I'd read several reviews singing its praises but couldn't help but compare it to the last hotel we'd stayed in which was far superior for the same price.

The entrance is lovely, and the receptionists very friendly. The pool area and clean and well maintained and there were plenty of sunloungers but it felt quite cramped, you are closer to the lounger next to you than you are to your partner across the table.

The room was clean enough, with fly screens at the doors and windows, but the bath was a little tatty. The air conditioning is controlled centrally by the hotel, and ours kept playing up if you didn't have the doors closed in exactly the right way.

There was no information on the hotel facilities, or the resort, in the rooms. We didn't find the gym until nearing the end of our stay. And the cleaners were quite unfriendly to be frank.

As a place to stay it was pleasant, but not as good as I had been expecting.

We were B&B, whereas a lot of other people seemed to be All Inc. I wouldn't bother, looking at the snack bar menu it wasn't very exciting and the other bars and restaurants are close enough to visit easily.

Be aware if you don't want to drink local tap water don't drink any soft drinks from the hotel. The tap water may be okay, but all the drinks at the hotel, including fruit jiuce at breakfast are from post-mix dispensers that I assume use tap water.

We stayed at the Bitzaro Grande from 24/7/05 to 7/8/05, we booked this hotel for my husbands 50th birthday after reading good reviews of it. However as soon as we arrived the lack of air conditioning in the rooms during the evenings became a major issue for us and ruined our stay here. We would never contemplate going on holiday during the peak months in this region without air conditioning in our room, it is an absolutely essential requirement, especially as temperatures were 40 deg plus most days.

The First Choice holiday brochure clearly states that this hotel is air conditioned during July/August, however this is limited to 1.30 - 6.30 pm and again at 10.00 - 7.00. Effectively this means that if you are out all day and expect to be able to freshen up before going out for the evening, forget it, the room will be uninhabitable due to the heat in the evening especially if you've been out all day.

We complained to First Choice at the resort and since our return. Their position is ha ha we didn't actually say when air conditioning would be available just that the hotel had it! So be warned, avoid this hotel in the hotter months.

The hotel itself is clean, modern, staff friendly and helpful except for maybe the pool bar staff who obviously wished they were elsewhere but as my husband and I also wished we were somewhere else and even asked the First Choice rep to find us another hotel we didn't blame them.

The hotel pool was covered in a patchwork of airbeds and screaming kids most days so families might enjoy it. There's not enough sunbeds to go round so it's up early or the towel out the night before if you want one, this affects the all inclusive guests more, personally we spent as much time away from the hotel as possible.

We stayed on a B & B basis, food was ok but same choice everyday.

We never sampled the hotel entertainment personally but reports from fellow guests didn't make us want to so cant really comment.

We had been looking forward to our stay here for months and unfortunately were massively disappointed, we hated returning to our room at the end of a day out.
