Food was good and loads of it three times a day. Snack bar served better kids foods which opens at 10am daily. My daughter was forever getting chicken burges and chips (she put on a stone in a week.) They were quite willing to do cocktails if you ask for them too.
Hotel nice and clean. Our room looked onto another hotel wall... which wasn't to nice but then again nobody could see us, oh yeah it was above the kitchen too. Rooms very basic and small or maybe we were just unlucky, and yes there was a slight flood when you had a shower.
The only problem I really had was the one lift that wasn't working most the time and I had to carry the pram up and down two flights of stairs three times a day (which you could only just get a pram and myself in at a squeeze.)
All the staff were great they loved my kids to bits.
The entertainment was ok and every night but a day off on Sunday for them and I won Bingo the first night 49 euros

Hotel was nice and friendly, very clean at all times and the entertainment girls were good fun and worked very hard.
The only gripes we had were we were told at our welcome meeting we could pay extra to keep our room as we had a late flight, but we could not! The air con was rather expensive at 50 euros a week, and the safety deposit box was also pricey.

the hotel margarita is excellent value for money and should be rated higher than a 3star. the food was excellent especialy the home made beef burgers!
both swiming pools were very nice but cold! hotel staff very freindly as to was the little black dog that greated us at the door when we first arrived,loves being fussed but watch out for the large numbers of ticks clung on to his ears!!
our room was sparse but comftable and the bathroom did need updating(watch out for the tidal wave when you have a shower!!!)
overall would highly recomend this hotel to anyone.

This hotel was a quaint family run hotel but it did not match the reviews given. Definately a 3 star the food was good but cheep. Spaggetti, chilli, etc one of these everyday. Somedays we would struggle to find something to eat. Not sure how families coped with children because there were no childrens meals, appart from jelly everyday!!!! Cash bar after midnight as in the brouchure did not exist. The bar closed promptly at midnight no service of any kind afterwards. No option to buy quality brands, all spirits were cheap copies. The rooms were small and uninviting, however there was a fridge and channel 5 on the tv. The entertainment was amature bingo, quiz nights, Mr Margarita!!! alot of the entertainment was for the kids nothing appart from Mr Margarita for the adults!! The adult pool is a sanctuary, family pool is bedlam!!. Daily snack consist of burgers & chips, hot dog & chips on very dry bread. Evening snack consist of ham, cheese, bread and mayo everynight!! Unlimed snacks stated in the brochure, definatly not unlimited even the quantity was limited first come first served. The only plus for this hotel is the staff they were all very friendly especially Angela on the bar, but the hotel needs to improve its standards. Would never return to Zante as island is very small covered everything in a week. Very very expensive to drink in Laganas town 10-8 euros for two drinks.

Me and my boyfriend went to Zante last year and stayed at the Margarita and it was brilliant, everything the brochure said it had! The staff were extremely friendly, the food was excellent and plenty to choose from, the entertainment was certainly entertaining as the girls tried very hard!! the adult pool is heaven so relaxing! the location was good near all the restaurants and bars and a shop next door, but far enough not to be disturbed by the noise. the hotel is spotless so clean and the rooms cleaned/towels etc changed everyday, it was a brilliant holiday and we are going back next week and i can't wait!!

I visited hotel maragita in july 2003. When we arrived laganas i wasn't really impressed with surroundings of our hotel as they were building sites to the sides and front. The dining room was cramped, very poor choice of alcoholic drinks unless you liked vodka,dont dare ask for diet pop unless you are diabetic, the kids got half ascoop of icecream for their cornet and the entertainment was crap although they really did work hard.

We stayed in hotel margarita,which both my partner and myself was exeptional.
Like all inclusives all over the world its always local beers and spirits,the norm.
Hotel was very clean. Food was second to none for adults ,but then again most kids just want burgers and chips and ice cream,plenty of that.
The staff were fantastic and so friendly especially huckleberry and madeline.
A lovely family run hotel. The entertainment wasnt the best in the world ,but they tried very hard,and who cares when u got sun ,sea, and beer.
I am visiting again in may 2004,this time with the kids and another family.TOP HOTEL,WELL DONE TONY AND RITA.

The food was terrible. Leftovers were reheated and served the following meal (which could be breakfast the following day). Of our party of 6, 3 of us got severe food poisoning. At least we didn't have to eat for a few days out of the 7 we were there.
The adult pool would have been good if the kids had been kept out, but the parents wanted the peace & quiet so brought their brats with them. Felt I spent the week complaining about the kids and the food. Didn't stay in the hotel because the kids were left to run riot while the parents got drunk.
The location is good for finding nice quiet places to eat and drink, but thats not what you want on an all inclusive holiday.
P.S. The airport is a nightmare and I would never go back to Zante.

just got back from holiday 22/05/02,what can i say about this place but i think thay have got the rating wrong it should be 4/5 star. We had a great time,good food very very clean,great pools,good entertainment with ifica and co and the kids just loved the dances we even got the cd.if your thinking of booking just book it's just as nice as it looks in the books. The food was excellent, should be a higher rating, beautiful setting, adult only pool as well as the general pool, The entertainers are a bit strange, could do with the first choice childrens club
