The whole resort was very clean, the entertainment staff were brilliant and the beach was great white sand but you got annoying sellers selling cigarettes. On really hot days watch out for jelly fish

Skanes is not very nice and nothing to do outside of the hotel apart from the go karts which is good and cheap
The beach was not to bad and when the sea was calm the water was lovely, but if a bit rough it dragged all the sea weed up and it was disgusting even the blokes selling water activites agreed.
Went to Port El Kantaoui that was better more to do

I found the resort of Monastir to be a very run down place. We visited the local market place and were utterly bored within a matter of two minutes as the people there wouldn't take no for an answer and the market place is relatively small. However, we did go to the market in Sousse and found this fantastic as it was huge and all market go-ers are willing to haggle.
There is no nightlife around the area so we relied on hotel staff to entertain us instead. The beach is the best bit about the resort. It's spotless, safe and absolutely baking !! And after being worried about reports about jellyfish, I only saw one and that was whilst I was parasailing and it was miles out. I would definately visit this resort again but I would give trips to Monastir market a complete miss and concentrate on relaxing and getting a tan more as this is a relaxing resort and NOT a lively 18 - 30 one.

All i can say about the resort is there is nothing there so you are very limited to your hotel. Ifound the beach to be quite clean but watch out for camel poo and jellyfish, as my son got stung while we was there.Apart from a supermarket that we had a ten minute walk through dirt track there is a petrol station but the resort is made up of hotels and wasteland.the only advice i can give is dont go to this resort if you are wantig a fun holiday because all you can do is sunbathe swim in the pool or the sea. dont get me wrong thats why we all go on holiday but it gets a bit tedious when it feels like a routine. Holidays are about adventures and having fun not feeling dissapointed.

only saw the beach, that was enough. you have to carefully step between all of the fag ends, camel poo, used plastic cups and other litter before you can even get to the sea.
the beach was filthy.

Beach heavily laden with seaweed.
Outside the hotel the area looks like a rubbish dump with nowhere to visit or walk to. Only option is to stay in the hotel locality, given the accommodation provided you are basically stranded in the area.

Easy to get out and about at reasonable rates taxis etc. Plenty to see locally if you are prepared to adventure on local transport or take excursion tours which are also reasonably priced.

My first impression of skanes was driving to the hotel and seeing filthy rubbish scattered in the ditches either side, as if someone had taken a rubbish lorry and scattered rubbish along both sides of the road.
The beach was ok but there wasn't much to do if you didn't like or weren't into paragliding, or boating.
