The resort of skanes is clean and fairly tidy but you have to remember this is a very poor country so expect dirt roads and old fashioned vehicles and drainage although all the main roads are tarmaced and some pavements are bricked. There is not much in skanea itself except hotels and a go-kart track which is fun for adults and children if you like that sort of thing and of course the airport is only 5 mins away where i might add is a cashpoint as there isnt one in the hotel so this is nearest only 8 dinars return about £4. The beach was fantastic and the hotel had a bar there as well as a snack and ice-cream bit for the kids which was good. The beach was clean and there was always plenty of security walking about but lots of locals selling their wares sometimes they were quite annoying as when you thought you'd got rid of them they would be back but i think thats just how they are. We wouldnt visit sahara beach or skanes again as not enough variety outside of the hotel and we got sick of the hassle when we did venture out! We made the mistake of going to monastir market on sat 3 ladies on our own and within 15 mins we were crying to come away it was awful men pulling us and touching us and beggars pulling on your handbag and asking for money asking which nationality we were,we were too scared to look at anything in the end luckily our cab driver was still at the meeting point and returned us to the hotel. It is a real eye opener. Overall we had a good holiday and met some great people Lorna Peter and Kayleigh although not quite what we were looking for i think we are most suited to the spanish costas type holiday as our older children were bored to tears and being such a big place its hard to please every body

Because this resort is new there is nothing outside the hotel to do, except for the watersports on the hotels private beaches. So you need to get the train, which is a 5 min walk or a taxi, both are very cheap. A short taxi ride away is a Go-karting track which was great fun. A 20 min train ride in either direction takes you to the towns of either Monastir or Sousse both of which are worth a visit, especially to the Medina's to do a bit of bartering.

the resort its self is in a quite area. so good for people who want to relax. the beach is not even 1 minute walk away from the hotel its just down some steps which is very nice and clean.you have to pay for sun beds which is 2 dinars. but you will always get a sun bed which is a good idea. they do entertainment around the swimming pool every day like darts, water polo, volley ball etc. i would go to this hotel again which i will be doing in february to go and see my mates who ive meet there. this hotel is very clean it has marbel flooring in the reception area. it has an upstairs dico which only usually opens when the weather in not as good. but the entertainment this time was out side so was alot better.

The resort was reasonably clean but always looked somewhat baron.

Go-karting was enjoyed by all who took part and reasonably priced too.

Never take a horse and cart ride - always use a yellow taxi.

Badgered and pestered on all shopping trips - be careful locals can bully you into parting with money.

Beach standards reasonable - nothing fascinating.

This holiday was our family's one and only this year - something that we have to save up for. Full of boredom and disappointments. I hope never to return to Tunisia.

There isnt much nightlife around (clubs/pubs) you need to travel into sousse but the hotel entertainment is good.Sousse camel market on a sunday is well worth a visit, the aqua park is small and quite a ride away. the beach was lovely with plenty to do jet skis etc. the hourbour is pretty and a taxi ride away shuts up at about 8 though! For us the holiday was hotel based but there is alot if you want to explore.

The beach at Skanes is nice, but there was some occasional litter when I was there.
I did not find any problem with the beach sellers, a polite 'no' did the trick nicely. There was always plenty of room to sunbathe on the beach as well.

The resort is not a resort as such. It is a strip of beach that has been pupose built to accomodate about 10 hotels, the only entertainment at the resort is a golf course everything else is in each individual hotel so if you are lucky enough to get a good hotel you will have some sort of entertainment. The beach itself is a long narrow strip of sand. The beach is not dirty with rubbish, but if you are not keen on sea weed, then it is not for you. The water was clean and warm, but at night the place absolutely STANK! There was a terrible smell of sewerage that wafted all night.

The Hotel is Beach based but not far from Shopping if you want it. It just depends what you want from your holiday. If you want to go for a stroll along the water front with shops, restautants etc. dont come here cause it aint got it. You can stroll down to the beach, or go to Monastir, Skanes etc. at night for a bit more life.
