The beach due to being a small cove, was best late afternoon when most of the crowds had gone, we could quite easily stay down until 6-7pm and it was still gorgeous. At peak time you could just say squeeze on!!!!

Archers bar opposite was good with a sand and play area for kids, a few toys and crayons etc and their snack menu was nice and staff very friendly. The resort itself was laid back and friendly, there are a couple of little parks with rides etc in them for children which we visited everynight to keep our little one happy. We would also walk into the centre about 5-10mins which had some beautiful bars, restaurants, cocktail bars and a must for the children the Jungle bar which had a big playroom out back, but best of all big animals dotted all over the place, tigers, elephants, crocodiles, parrots etc. and for the adults they did a much reccomended sangria.
The marina is beautiful and well worth a look around.
To sum it up, we had a good holiday in Cala D'or xxx

The resort its self was really nice, it has about 3 mini markets and about 10 gifts shops. There also a lot of restraunts ranging from Chinese, Tex-Mex or Pizza.
The center of Cal'A'Dor is only a 20min walk and theres a lot more going on down there.
THE BEACHES ARE LOVLEY BUT DO NOT GO IN THE SEA ITS FULL OF JELLYFISH!!!!

Reccomended place to eat:
The Duke of Devenshire
Cheers (cal a dor)
Grill World (cal a dor)

Resort of Cala D'or in May was really relaxing & pretty low key. Lots of lovely restaurants in the pedestrianised area as well as the marina. Our favourites were Acquarius (at the marina), El Caliu, Fernando's & Don Leone's (all in pedestrianised area). Food was better than usual grub abroad & was always really nicely presented. We tended to frequent 2 bars in particular at night - Dugan's and Upstairs (good cocktails). In May resort was fairly quiet after midnight only a few bars still opened.
Beaches at Cala Gran & Cala Esmeralda were lovely- nice little sandy coves. Good idea to take the mini-train around resort on first day or two to get your bearings only 3euro return. All in we got what we wanted - a relaxing time in a nice resort with good food & drink, ideal place to recharge the batteries. Would go back early or late in season as I'm led to believe it can be really crowded in high summer.
If you're going I'm soooo jealous!!! Enjoy!!!

We visited several areas of the resort - beaches included Cala D'or beach (small but very nice), Cala Gran - larger and popular, Cala Esmerelda - small, not much to do. Cala Pou - jelyfish bay!

We did the boat trip to Cala Mondrago which was a lovely day out - pretty beaches and clear blue waters. No jellyfish! The Marina was close to us and lovely to spend an evening down there, admiring all the luxury yachts and watching the slow pace of life.

We ate down there on many occasions - in particular, at Churchills (English run, very friendly, fab food), Tex-Mex - good food and friendly staff and just around the Marina at Sante Fe - excellent food at very reasonable prices.

Cala D'or was the nearest resort town - small, all gift shops selling exactly the same at different prices, so not much choice in the way of presents!

Cala D Or is a small resort with narrow streets so be prepared for lots of car horns as someone stops and nobody can pass lots of motorbikes that try to reach top speed in a street 200yds long.Small beach set in cove but can imagine it being very cramped at the height of season but really quite nice.Masses of restaurants plenty bars

The small harbour area of Cala d'or and the main town were both seemingly very clean, restaurants were clean and the tables and bars fully stocked.

We did not sample the resort entertainment as we were staying all inclusive and although our hotel entertainment was rubbish the free drinks kept us there!!

As there was no beach where we were I could not comment on the standard of the beach.

I would visit this resort again but stay in the main town like I have done previous years.

The resort in itself was clean and kept well its 1 main road with bars and restaurants and shops either side.Good places to eat are Tonys bar we had great meals here every time we ate here the choice of food was excellent and so was the service.Aries bar run by Eddie and Pauline do a great breakfast a little more expensive than the rest but well worth it.We also found a little place called The Dolphin Bar a little way back from the beach worth finding and trying as the service and food was excellent even put The Simpsons on in english for the kids. Please for your own sakes do NOT go to the GASTRONOMIC its on the corner its pink and green in colour the food was awful and i mean awful and the service was a disgrace so please give this a miss.Other bars we found enjoyable and friendly was Rumours and the best cocktails in the whole resort was The Polynesian. We found the beach quite crowded we got there in the afternoon got on a sunbed and was charged for a whole day felt annoyed that we had to pay for a sunbed at all so we spent our time round the pool. Also lots of jellyfish in the sea so you could not swim in it anyway. We would go back again to the resort and the apts we all had a realy good time.Dont forget The DOLPHIN Bar.

The resort was very clean and did not see evidence of litter, dog poo, or any other rubbish. The entertainment was suitable all over the resort from open air karoke, tribute bands, cocktail bars with music and one not to be missed if you are staying near cala ferrera is Carabels. The reason is that there is a spanish guy who hosts the karoke and is a very unique person indeed. He sounds like Barney the animated dinasour (SUPER DUPER)and Buddy Love (Jerry Lewis)from the nutty professor film. If you go or hear him you will know what we mean. All good fun. Would definitely recommend resort and would go back again.
