anyone reading this go to turkey !!! i have been to bodrum and gumbet brill these apartments are idealy situated for both towns beach small but good entertainment never tried to busy shopping fot genuine fakes market in bodrum excellent see ya soon turkey 2007

Gumbet is quite a hilly location and is more or less situated in a circle. Some good bars and clubs and hairdressers.
Dolmus very cheap can take you to Bodrum anout 10 mins away.
Shops were good, most of them take english money now.

Bodrums great. Shopping was an experience. Be prepared to be barter, we found a currency converter was very helpfull as the do try to rip u off. We couldnt walk past a shop without someone pestering us, this was very annoying but we learnt to ignore them. If you fancy going out on the town and like your rock miusic we suggest rock city drinks are expensive but the atmosphere and music were awsome.

Bodrum excellent relaxed atmosphere for families and couples - next door neighbour Gumbet for the young set with plenty of "boom boom" music (if you can call it music)
Plenty of good value excursions - don't book thro the rep save some money.
If you like Turkey you will like Bodrum.

Our first time in turkey and thought it was great. What made our holiday most was a bar 5 minutes from our hotel called Jimmy's Bar. The staff were absolutely amazing with everyone especially the kids. 3 of my favourite staff were Bobbi Williams, Ahmet and J.J. I have never met staff like this on any other holiday, my daughter and her friend were very upset coming home as they were going to miss the guys at Jimmy's bar. We also went on a wonderful trip on a boat named Tora. You can obtain information about boat trip at Jimmy's bar. We also felt we had great value for money in Turkey compared to Spain last year and will therefore return again next year. I have returned a great haggler now!

Bitez is lovely although a bit on the quiet side. hundreds of restaurants to choose from, although it can be a bit daunting walking along without anyone trying to drag you in to eat.
The blue moon restaurant was the best. The food was absoutley lovely. The dolphin was great, as was the poyraz and the mayflower!!
Not many bars as such, everthing is based on restaurants. the temple bar was very nice and always full, it was always our last stop on the way home.
For a more lively evening gumbet is only 5 mins away in a taxi costing £3.

Bodrum its self is one of those places where you can do as little or as much as you want. It combines the old with the modern with out spoiling it.The choice of bars restarants is great, and we never had a bad meal the whole 2 weeks we were there.Food and drink is still value for money and so are the many day trips availible in the resort (boat and jeep trips £10-£20 incl lunch .There is somthing in Bodrum for everone .The only negitive thing about bodrum is the shops are very pushy and you do get fed up with it by the end of the holiday.

As for the resort - too many steps and inclines - suggest you walk down, prepare to spend all day at the pool or seafront -No beach although there is a sort of small singly beach to either side of the hotel grounds - one very close to the neighbouring Club Ersan hotel next door) put plenty of seafront private bathing platforms.
Lovely views all round.
I can recommend La Turka in Bodrums Bar street for a cracking steak, mixed grill and pancakes - and play the game with them have a look and walk away then go back they will offer you free drinks and larger portions too. The staff are great sports and a good laugh too.

The resort is a sleepy village with nothing to do. a couple of souvenir shops which did not stock souvenirs and a sailing boat which would take you out for a day trip. the beach was very tiny shingle beach with crystal clear water but not needed to use as the pool facilities were great.
The fireworks on Saturday night were lovely but really nothing else to see or do in the immediate vacinity howver a hotel run mini bus would take you into Bodrum to do some limited shopping or visit their beautiful harbour.

Bodrum is very clean, but watch out for the bargain traders who do turn nasty if you do not go in and buy. We cannot comment on the resort entertainment as being all inclusive we stayed at the hotel. Beach was non-existant very shingled and a foot wide but very clear sea water.
We would like to visit the resort again when all the alterations have been put into place including a Waterpark on site.
