Just returned from what I can only describe as a holiday from hell. The rooms are tiny and are definitely not suitable for a family of four. The food is repetitive and cold, the maids wake you up every morning shouting, the entertainment would drain your will to live - the same thing over and over again. Hotel staff on the whole are fine, except for the manager who doesn't want to know if you have a problem. The location is about a 20 minute walk from the centre which isn't so good if you have children with you. In short if you have booked this hotel - think again.

Totally agree with the previous report.
The maids stand beside each other in the morning and insist on shouting at each other and it sounds really abusive - every morning we were woken at 8am - yuk!
The rooms werent even cleaned properly - our sheets werent changed once while e were there, you couldnt walk around in bare feet otherwise you would have black soles, but the bathroom was always clean - only good thing i have to say about the tiny hotel rooms and miniscule balconies!
Food was good, good selection every night was different apart from the staple chips - but that meant there was always something for you to eat if you didnt fancy anything else.
Got an electric shock from the only plug in our room when we arrived as there was a broken plug already in the socket, thankfully it didnt happen to a child!

After reading the reviews I was very worried about staying at villamarina. All I can say is that these people must have stayed at a different hotel because we had a fantastic time. The apartment was large with two rooms, tv, fidge, air condition and two balcony. The apartments were a short walk from the hotel. At the hotel there were two pools but you could also use two other pools at the private apartments - these were quiet and very clean. The food was good and always hot. We never had to que for the restuarant and maybe the odd 5 mins in the evening to a get a beer. My kids had a great time and this was due to the entertainment team - geezer, doona, dave, peter + zoe. They were all excellent - there was always something happening. We stayed at the hotel during the EURO 2004 football and the hotel provided a free bus to the local english pub - we had such fun on these nights.
The beach is approx 15 min walk but all the way are shops and my wife just loved it.
The hotel is ideal for families or couples who enjoy the 'Working Mans' club scene.
I syaed for 1 week . I am booking up for next year for two weeks and have already sent a letter to Pablo the hotels Manager ,thanking him for such a lovely holiday.
I have been on 3 all inclusive holidays and this was the best one yet - in fact the best holiday ever. We once stayed at an all inclusive complex in Majorca - that was a holiday from hell. So trust me , villamarina is ok.
One night a couple offered us a buy from them their 3 day pass into ventura theme park because they thought the hotel would be crap. These tickets costs in excess of 100 euros and they wanted 20 euros. We said no becuase our kids were having such a good time at the hotel.
see you guys next year . Hey Gezeer - 'You're Off' !!!!!!

Let me start by saying: HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE
Me my wife and my baby daughter went on holiday at Villamarina Club "Not" Hotel on the month of june.
We arrived prety late and as soon as we walked in after we got the room key there was this horrible smell, at first I thought the toilets were nearby but no, it was the smell of the hotel.
-Cleanliness, very dirty, pools contain sand at the bottom.
-The food, "oh my God" :tasteles, cold, repetitive, limited and so on.
-Location, it has such a location that I had to hire a car for the duration of my holiday.
-Staff, noisiest maids in the world, it sounded as though they were fighting each other.
-Entertainment, what entertainment, exactly the same every night.

the situation of this hotel was perfect for a nice, relaxing holiday, away from the noise and busyness of the main resort. main resort was very noisy
and very busy, I would not have liked to stay there. The entertainment was different every night for the two weeks that we were there and was very good. The kids club songs were repetitive, but thats what kids like. The food was good and varied over the time we were there and was always hot and replemished regularly so that it did not dry up. The manager of the hotel was about from breakfast until late at night making sure everyone was happy and sorting out any problems immedietly. I would definatly return to this hotel with my two children.

The hotel was very clean. Chambermaids visited the rooms everyday (even when I wasn't well), linen and towels were changed on a regular basis. The bar and restaurant were clean and the staff worked hard to serve drinks and collect dirty glasses/dishes. In the restaurant, staff changed the table cloths every time someone new sat at the table. The food was varied and hot. Always something there for everyone. The hotel was situated on a quiet street and about a 15 minute walk to the beach although there was a free bus from the hotel to the beach. SAtaff were polite, courteous and had a sense of humour. They were also very good with my boys aged 3 & 7. the entertainment staff were excellent and provided entertainment for everyone. I would visit the Villa marina again definately!

We normally book last minute holidays, and we go for the weather more than anything else, but when we went to this hotel, it was the worst I have ever been to.
The rooms had cigarette burns in the sheets, children running up and down the corridor at all times of the night. The rain at one point was so bad it flooded the kitchen (not hotel's fault obviously) but the bar area where everyone can sit smelt of wet dog, and that was before the floods.
Food was disgusting. Staff unfriendly and it was full of men in football shirts.
The pool I never once saw cleaned, and the area around it was disgusting,
The beach was the place we went down to everyday because it was the lesser of two evils, although it was a fifteen minute walk away, but we got fit that holiday.
I will never go to that hotel again!!

Stayed at this hotel on a short 3 night break unfortunately during free holiday time for Spanish pensioners.Food was less than average and very repetative.Lights were switched off at midnight and on one evening at 12.15am our party were asked to leave the seating area by an over zealous night porter as our conversation would upset the Spanish clients who had gone to bed.I found the bedrooms very small and the location very poor as without going into Salou centre there was nowhere near the hotel to spend the evening.Hotel staff were on the whole good especially on reception where they were very helpful.Restaurant staff very poor-had to set up my own table with cutlery and glasses etc.Glad I was only here for short break.Won't be back

The hotel is a very family orientated hotel.
It is very clean and as you would expect from a 3 star establishment. The rooms may seem a little small to some but when your all-inclusive you dont want to be spending time in your rooms anyway. The food is simple but edible, with a range of english food aswell as local dishes. The location is a little out of the way but a 20 minute walk to the beach gets you to all the shops (a free bus runs if you dont want to walk). The staff are always willing to help and very friendly. This is our second visit, and on the first visit my youngest, who is very fussy about food, hated everthing one night, the manager went out of his way to get something cooked that she would eat. The entertainment staff are excellent trying to include all children and even arranging activities for adults.
We would always recommend this hotel to anyone and will definately go again.

this hotel is brilliant i will tell everyone i can about this hotel. the entertainment was fantastic and we had a brilliant laught watching, CARL, PETER, DAVE, ZOE and DONNA do all they can to make our holiday worth more. the rooms were really nice, the tv had four english channels which i thought was brill. the pools were clean and brilliant fun. the food was great, even when the buffey wernt on there was hot food for us at the pool bar. beach was a gorgeous walk away, we loved walking to the beach and wondering around the shops. this hotel is in the perfect place in the centre of everything. we will never forget this holiday its the best ever. THANK YOU VILLA MARINA
