Very quiet and about a 30 min walk into the resort of hersonissos. You would definitely need a car if you were staying here or you would go bonkers!
Hersonissos out of season is pleasant with shops and supermarkets and a lovely expanse of beach. I can't say what it would be like at the height of season, I think it looked geared up to be quite lively.

The resaort it a 20 min walk forom the hotel, but the hotel puts on a free bus to take you there.
the resort has something to offer everyone, form shops bars and restaurants. There is a lovely sandy beach and water sports available.
We did a bungy ball which was fantastic.

Malia has a little for everyone the old town has nice relaxed bars and restaurants very greek and traditional while the rest of the place is party haven there,s enough clubs and pubs to bring any party animal to the floor I was most impressed with the variation of music everything you could want dance cheese rnb commercial 60's 70's 80's(you get the picture) drinks are virtually thrown down your throat with some places doing 7 for 1 deals.
The beach was nice enough nothing on the white sands of the carribiean but suffice with enough watersport to keep even me happy although they were alittle expensive 40 euro for jet ski, banna boat 9euro etc etc.. just outside of Malia there is a great waterpark.
Excursions are in plenty from booze crusie's to a tour of the infamous spindalonga where they used to send the lepoards (very intresting get a bbq and see a few sites around crete nice place for all ages please note when I visited it was September so it wasn't peak time as such.
Get your brekky at the Red Lion it is worth evey cent

the beach was very clean and very close to the apartments with easy access and plenty of space to relax.
the entertainment around the hotel is very lively with star beach offering lots of different events throughout the week.
i have already booked for 2007 and cant wait to return.

The resort itself is very quiet which is just how we like it there is a prom area which you can walk along & pop into two or three tavernas the greek tavern being the best where you can get a large iced cold beer for 2euro.The beach is not very good rite outside hotel but a short stroll takes to a decent sandy beach.

Been to Malia 2 times before and only gets better each year! A wee bit more trouble this year than i can remenber but mabey just because there are alot younger people in the resort.
If your wanting a great night head to Help Bar...the fab London Boys we met introduced us to Garage music and this is definetly the place to start your night!!!
Malia is great and anyone going here will have a fab time, just keep your wits about you and you will have a great time!!!!!1
