There was seven of us on holiday and found the resort perfect. Close enough to Malia to go for a mad night out but far enough away to have a bit of peace and quiet.
The harbour at Hersonissos has some lovely retaurants and loads of clubs and bars.
Star beach is lovely and clean and only 3 euros for a sunbed all day.

Excellant resort very lively. Star beach the place to go suitable for 18-30s as well as seperaste area for families

the resort itself was really good plenty to do the boat trips were good and very cheap.the beach was real nice we had a massage on the beech and it was very cheap.i would visit the resort again but not all inclusive as the meals at other resturants were very nice.

This resort has many bars and restaurants, all very good value for money and are kept clean. Not much entertainment, but buses are readily available into Malia where there is more happening. Beach was tidy, and the free star beach water park has lots of room and is very well kept.

Definately planning another visit. Malia in June was ideal for us 'older' ladies with plenty going on but not yet too busy. Plenty of shops, bars and restaurants as you would expect. Would recommend the Red Lion Bar/Restaurant on the Beach Road - the staff were very friendly, the service very good and the food excellent. Not only was the food of a very high quality but there was plenty of it - check out the Sunday Carvery !!!!!!

Lovely resort, lively should you wish it to be, quiet and relaxing too as an alternative. Take care on crossing main road extremely dangerous with blind bends.

The harbour was about 30minutes walk away but was just over a euro from the bus stop outside.Star Beach is across the road and is good for a few slides and watersports.Take a walk out the back gate of the hotel and follow the road to old Hersonnissos village. All the shopkeepers are warm and friendly.Apostolos at the Creta Natura shop,Tamara and Kostas in the jewellers. the Sports Bar is good for watching footie.Walk between Kostas shop and you will find mant more lovely old shops and tavernas.Well worth the walk and the view is breathtaking.

Star beach was a very good place to unwind, sitting on the beach or swimming in the sea. If you fancy a drink there were plenty of places to get drink or have a snack, The Tavernas by Star Beach a well worth a visit, exellent food with a Greek welcome.

Resort although a good walk from hotel seemed to be clean with plenty of entertainment for young and old alike.
Beaches seemed ok but to far from Meltemi.

As the name suggests this hotel resort, is like a small self contained village.
There is not an awful lot outside the complex and a hire car would be recommended.
The hotel itself borders onto the Royal mare part of the same complex,the hotel borders onto the beach and it is easy to choose either the pool, beach or both in a day.
I found the beach very nice and there were plenty of places to snorkel if you like that sort of thing.
There was very little entertainment in the resort, this was provided mainly by the hotel.
