This was by far the best holiday I have ever taken. A big thank you to Rachel, Adie and Chloe our main reps they really made our holiday special. Shame about entertainment team very boring and uninteresting people, over paid for the rubbish they push out. Other than that very nice complex and fab reps.

This is the second time we have visited this hotel and would not hesitate to go back. As many people I read the reviews on holidaytruth.com and was unsure if this was the same complex as we stayed at 2 years previous, we needn't have worried.

This is not the Hilton! Dont forget it
This is a very friendly well run hotel of basic but very clean and adequate facilities.

We stayed AI and in my opinion is the only way to stay when you have children who are fussy eaters at the best of times; the choices were varied and plentiful. Granted the food wasn't cooked as you ordered it but you don't hear people complaining at your local harvester. To be honest it was hard to know when to stop piling you're plate up. each breakfast was a choice of sausage, bacon, fried egg, scrambled egg, boiled egg, tomatoes, beans, pancakes, toast, yoghurts, cereals, fresh fruit, dried fruit, pastries, croissants, fresh locally baked bread, cheeses and cooked meats. Cannot comment on the lunches at the buffet restaurant mainly because we stockpiled up at breakfast!! If we were feeling peckish at lunch the pool side bars offered plenty of gap fillers. As for the dinner the choice was more extensive. soups, lasagne, spaghetti, macaroni cheese, pork spare ribs, chicken, beef, lamb, fresh carrots, peas, beans, cauliflower, cabbage, pizza, curry, rice, cooked meat, cheeses, fruit, yoghurts, every night fresh local caught fish and two nights we had paella and yes there were chips, plus the drink option lager rose, red and white wine, orange juice, pineapple juice, sprite, coke, lemon fanta, orange fanta, coffee and tea whenever you liked.

The hotel rooms were basic but were cleaned 5 times in 7 days, linen changed 3 times. Never had cockroaches or spiders in the room mainly because of the cats roaming the complex eating them, did have ants in the room but a quick blast of bloom SX soon sorted them out

The location of the complex is on a quite steep hill and can be hard on the elderly or infirm, but for 1 euro you can catch the train from the harbour and town area into the complex.

The hotel staff were polite, informative and always helpful whether it be cleaning your room, serving your drinks or booking your car hire.

The entertainment was very good. There is 3 pools on the complex c-side being the most energetic, we stayed by the pool on a-side where it was quieter and where my 3 year old son could learn to swim without distraction but there was still activities to join in with if you wish or just kick back and enjoy the sun.

All day on c-side there were things to do right up till the evening where there were kids mini discos, followed by shows, bingo, play your cards right plus local speciality acts.

The kids clubs were excellent catering from British registered nannies if you want a night out on your own through to 3-7 year olds, 8-11year olds plus the wavelength club for older kids
.

All the entertainment staff worked tirelessly to make sure your holiday was as fun packed or relaxed as you required.

Finally, never heard of anyone with sickness or anyone being broke into just be aware that there are opportunist who will take advantage if your guard falls
So lock doors and windows when you are out or asleep

Sorry this review has been long winded or boring but we feel that this complex has had a lot of bad reviews and should be given a fair chance, as I said earlier this isn't the Hilton as long as don't think it is you will have a great time.

We have just got back at 2am this morning and I can honestly say that this was a brilliant holiday!

I had read all of the reviews before we flew and was not looking forward to going at all, so I had more or less decided I was going to hate it before we got there.

How wrong I was!

The apartment although basic had everything we could want and was exceptionaly clean and stayed that way throughout the week thanks to the great maids who cleaned through even in that heat everyday except sunday.

The food in the hotel was fine, after reading one report I felt my children would have lived on chips and ice cream but no, there was plenty of variety and hardly any repetition and the staff in the main restaurant were lovely especially with the children.

In fact the only moan I really have was about the other restaurants both the Chinese and the Mediterranean one.

The Chinese one had quite a poor selection of Chinese dishes and the staff were it seemed quite unfriendly, but the Mediterranean one as by far the worst. One waiter in there really had a problem on the night we went there. Slamming glasses of drinks down in front of you and practically snatching the menu from your hands, we only asked what was in a particular salad and found that we had were having it whether it was what we wanted or not. It turned out it was a salad with tuna, I think the tuna must have escaped cos most of it never found my plate. The main course wasn't much better. The lasagne was luke warm. Needless to say we didn't eat it or hang around for the dessert. No it was off to the good old International for something decent and friendlier staff.

We were obviously not the only ones who had had a bad night in the Mediterranean, as we met up with another family who had also walked out and gone over to the normal restaurant.

We did not venture into either of those restaurants again.

Now for the pools. Must say that the C pool looked good but as we only have little ones we tended to stay in the baby pool. This was cold but okay once you were in it, the only real problem was that after about two/three days there was a really horrid smell coming from, I assume the drains, which did make you balk as you lay on the loungers around the pool, but one mention to the reps and the next day the pool chaps had it sorted and it was fine for the rest of the week.

Oh I just remembered another little moan. The pavements around the complex especially the slope down to reception, be careful, it is full of pot holes and our three year old has fabulous scabby knees from numerous falls going to and from our apartment.

Now for the kids club, Fabulous! or so says my six year old. Sorry! I am hopeless with names but the girl with the glasses has a fan for life in my three year old.

Out and about there are a few trips to go on, the glass bottom submarine and sealion show with Harley (thats the English sealion) is a must for little kids and if you want there is the Whale watching trip.

But on the whole Caleta de Fuste is all about relaxation, so if you want to do nothing but soak up the sun, this is the place. I would imagine though that with all the building work going on that if you went back in say five years time the place will be a lot more built up and livlier like Corralejo which would be a shame.

We have just arrived back and had a brilliant holiday. Like so many other people on this site after the reviews we had read we were worried, but have to say that a lot of rubbish had been written.

The staff were great and the kids loved it. We are going back next year who knows might even move there. So if you are going enjoy yourself. We did.

Well, where do I start, this was our 3rd (and probably last)visit to the complex (last years review is on here somewhere for a comparison). We were really looking forward to it as we had such a good time last year and my daughter was meeting up with friends she had made previously.

I can't fault the reception staff they were very friendly and helpful, as for the canteen (can't call it anything else really) staff they were mostly ok although I did have a run in with a young upstart who thought it was his job to reprimand me!!! for wiping my dripping glass (rather than carry it across to the table wet) on the paper which was covering the trays, when I told him it had nothing to do with him he asked me for my room number, obviously I told him to go away (in no uncertain terms) and demanded he gave me his name which I will be passing on to turicomplex in my letter of complaint.

The food was awful at best in the canteen, we only ate there 4 times in the evening out of the 14 we were there, the food was either under or overcooked, the bar snacks were of a similar fashion. The breakfasts were ok though,
The Med restaraunt was not bad but the choice was very limited(we went there a few times because the wine was better than the stuff they had in the canteen) The Chinese restaraunt was also ok but it was the same choices every night. Considering we paid for all inclusive we ate out a fair bit, which we hadn't budgeted for.

The Bar Staff. Well this was even worse, the manager who I'm not allowed to mention by name (but will when I write to turicomplex) was the most arrogant person I ever had the misfortune to meet, he never smiled or spoke to you other than "yes what do you want?" he made my daughter feel very uncomfortable. Some of the friends she had met there last year were staying on a SC basis, she said he felt like was watching her everytime she was in the bar to make sure she wasn't passing on drinks to them (which she wasn't.)

Last year we were greeted with a smile and polite friendly chat as we paid for our drinks but this time they were virtually thrown across the bar at us, maybe that's the price you pay for paying in advance, which resulted in some of the beer/wine/coke etc being sloshed on the slop mat, there were 1 or 2 bar staff who were friendly(and I will inform turicomplex who they were) but they were in the minority.

I also did not like the idea of all drinks being served in a paper coca cola cup, there were glasses available but they were rare.

I know this sounds like a clouded and biased view but if you read my review from last year you will see the difference.

Entertainment. Once again FANTASTIC, Keiron, Fran, Jenny, Hannah, Phil etc. were brilliant they helped save the holiday for us, they worked tirelessly to entertain both day and night and we had some great laughs with them, and both my kids really had great fun especially singing and dancing along to Cartoon heroes and mimic man etc. My wife and I had the fortunate pleasure to win a trip to Jandia after taking part in a stage quiz(Mr and Mrs type thing)which was great day out...

First Choice were brilliant and I will not hesitate to book with them again in the future.

Obviously this all just mine and my family's experience and opinion, but compared to recent years the CD has definitely lost it's appeal

Hi to all you worries out there that are due to go I went on the 2nd of Sept and got home on the 10th and we all had a great time we were on C side and had a kids den the bunglow was great.

The cleaners were always in we did have ants but as soon as we told first choice they got the poeple to come and clear out for us. There was no sickness bug while I was there the pool on C side was great the only thing from our point of view was that the teenagers were climbing all over the slide which was putting our little ones off.

Our main issue was the food and how much it was the same every night I would make sure you book to go to the med restaurant a couple of times while you are there if I was you.

The entertainment staff are fantastic they really do deserve a pay rise fran Jenny and kKrion are just so funny had us in stiches every night a gerat bunch of people.

I would go back here again as there is so much to do if you want to do it or you just relax by the pool if you don't.

The kids loved it to they just help them self to ice cream and coke all day which is good the dont pester you can I have a drink every 2 mins

Hope you all enjoy your hols like we did.

Before we went on this holiday we were dreading it after all the bad reports that we had read and had even been on the phone to First Choice begging them to change hotels for us which they wouldn't do. They denied there being a problem and said had not had complaints we had requested c block as had read they were the better apartments and after a quick check in we were given our c block apartment in a good location.

We were surprised with our apartment after what we had read it was clean and well equipped we had a few ants but probably down to our 4 year old leaving sweets on the floor.

All the windows and doors did seem secure with double glazing did look more secure than blocks a and b we never heard of any break ins and would not of left doors or windows open whilst out.

We were self catering had breakfast at the hotel a couple of times which was fine and snacks which were average I would recommend going SC as the money we saved going we used to eat out the whole time was great having the freedom to choose were to go and were not tied to the hotel.

Restaurants not far away 10 min walk if you wanted to upgrade in the hotel you could for 20 euros a day

Location was good only took 10 Min's to walk to beach restaurants and shops about 15 Min's to the shopping center were burger king and mcdonalds are just follow the read path before the subway there's also a train that will take you to the beach or harbour.

Spent most of our time at pool b was nice and quiet there c pool the most lively but nice my son loved the splash park pool a very nice to could always get sunbeds at them all any time of day.

Reception staff helpful my son fell over one day cut his knee they cleaned it and dressed it for him.

Reps seemed good too apart from the day we booked to go to the zoo through the reps we were waiting for the coach to collect us at time given to us for ages only do find out they hadn't faxed our booking through so no coach was coming had to go the next day and was a excellent day out. The camel ride and kisses from the sea lion made my sons holiday.

Kids club was good the bugs bunny bash on Tuesdays are great 4 hours of peace knowing the children are being well looked after.

Weather was fantastic everyday we had a great holiday and would return as self catering again.

We got back from a two week AI holiday on Sunday 24th September, and have to say we had a fantastic holiday despite being incredibly worried after reading the reviews.

We arrived at the hotel at about 10pm, we had to wait ages to check in due to the number of people arriving, but the staff were pleasent, helpful and very precise in order to ensure that we go to our bungalows as soon as possible.

Our bungalow was on the B Side on the walk from reception to the pool. It was clean (cleaner than anywhere else we have been) one point to note: the toilet had been santised and sealed. You don't get that everywhere. The only problem with our room was that the lock on the window was broken so you had to fiddle with to ensure it was locked.

We had heard about the break-in's we were told by locals that many apartments in the area had been subject to break-in's so under no circumstances should you leave windows open. Common sense really!

Food on the first week was fantastic, we later found out that this was due to some "officials" visiting, probably the spanish tourist board. The second week it was not as good, it became very repetative. However salads were always fresh and up at the C Side every other day they had a BBQ at lunchtime. We didn't go hungry, but did eat out a couple of nights.

The location of the hotel was great and the little dotto train made it easier than walking back up the hill!

Entertainment is all day every day and I have to say that the Entertainment Reps work very very hard to make sure everyone has a good time, they are working from 10am to Midnight practically every day. On the nights that they put on their own shows, "Stars in their eyes" for example, it was rubbish, but they tried and they were clearly exhausted after running round all day. Mostly I would have to say that it was like Butlins in the sun, but after a few Vodkas and the chance to win 500 euros on the bingo and 900 Euros on Play your Card Right - Who Cares!!!

The Hotel Reps, the ones there for a couple of hours each day were the worst we have encountered on a FC holiday. They were half asleep, late for work, un-informative and un-helpful. The receptionists new much more.

I wouldn't go back basically because I think we paid over the odds for our holiday, FC class this as a 4 suns but that it due to the facilities, i.e no of bars, restaurants and pools. I would rate this a two star. If you are going here on a cheap last minute deal then its fab. I would rate this hotel only a 2/3 star really.

Oh and the coakroaches - yuk! We had three in our room and one very large scary spider. We heard of worse cases, but they are part of the wildlife so expect them, use the plugs in the sink and block up any holes in the floor with loo paper to stop them getting in.

But don't worry about going here you will have a fab time!!

We like others were very worried about this holiday after reading the previous reports but decided to go with an open mind. We are glad that we did. On arrival we were checked in very quickly and given clear directions to our bungalow. We were placed on the C side and that was definitely the best place to be. The bungalow was very clean and contrary to previous reports the maids came everyday to clean.

The hotel staff were very friendly and very efficient and worked really hard cleaning up behind holiday makers who seemed to think that they had no responsibility in putting any of there rubbish in the bins.

The complex is quite large with plenty of sunbeds however they would do well to invest in more parasols to help shade you from the intense heat.

The food we found to be reasonable with quite a good choice however is did seem to be aimed for the English tourist and it would have been nice to see more local dishes but we did find something to eat each day. We did eat out a few times just to sample the food and I would recomend Frado Rock you can get great kangaroo there.

The entertainers were probably the hardest working bunch that we have yet encountered and are a definate asset to first choice. Kieran, Jenny, Fracesca, Phil and the rest of the team kept everyone who was prepared to join in entertained from 10am until midnight everyday. The shows they put on were great and the children on the complex seems to enjoy it all.

Without doubt Kieran's dance to the cheeky girls in mimmick man kept us laughing to the whole two weeks.

If you have any worries about going here don't go with an open mind and join in and you will have a really good time.

On arrival I found the receptionist to be very welcoming and helpful, my view of the layout of the hotel is "old style Butlins". However having said that our apartment on C side was clean and tidy on arrival. My only critisism is that our apartment was only cleaned on request and this should not have been the case (I saw them go next door every day)

Food was a bit repetative but generally very good although not keen on Chinese

In fairness to the Hotel staff they responded very quickley to any request we made and rectified any problems promptly.

Hotel is situated up a slight hill but not a bad walk into resort or back and taxis are cheap enough.

In general all hotel staff very pleasant (after all everyone is entitled to an off day)

Our 7 year old daughter loved the pool and we enjoyed the adult activities in the pool either watching or joining in.

The evening entertainment was hit and miss. There were some good outside acts as well as some good efforts by the FC staff, however some of the kids reps insulted the children's intelligence never mind the adults. One evening in mind included spitting water at one another the whole sketch was tedious and tiresome as well as distasteful. The staff seemed bored and this reflected in there audience participation (none)

Overall not usual FC standard that I've been used to.

No I wouldn't visit this hotel again but only because of the layout.
