Returned 4th of October after 2 weeks.

Having read bad reviews was concerned about break ins and sickness but from moment arrived was pleased to see the cleaniness of place.

Room was spotless we were on C side. These rooms have had new doors and windows so very secure. Food was ok good choice first week but got a bit samely in second, but snacks were good at pool bars. Big shout to Omar and his bar staff, great team cleaners were very good came almost daily.

Reps were helpful but stars of place were Kieran and his team in entertainment. Absolutely brillient kids clubs reps. Also my 3 year is still talking about Monkey Mark talking to others. C side is place to be.

Steps no problem as plenty of ramps for buggies or even wheelchairs pool did have problem with pump one night so was closed the next. Apart from that we all had a great time it's a must go.

We will not go back though but only because of resort its small and not very interesting apart from boat trips but the complex is great fun.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom kids suite in C block in September all inclusive.

On arrival the complex was very clean. The bungalow was very nice and clean.

The food was great and a good variety. We had no tummy bugs whilist there.

There are 3 pools. The C pool was closed for 2 days when we were there due to someone leaving a present in there this was no fault of the hotel. We spent most of our time at the B side pool. All the pool areas were clean and pleasent.

I heard of one break in while there. We kept curtains drawn and windows shut at all times whilist out and the tv turned up loud and valuables kept in the safe.

The entertainment was basic. They cater more for younger kids, but we had a good time.

We booked packed lunches for the beach everyday there was plenty to eat and included things such as sandwiches, fruit, yoghurts, water, juice, cakes.

The only downsides were the complex is very big and confusing of were it ends and begins but after a few days you know your way around.

In the bungalow we were plaged by mini ants, they get in the bed, clothes settee, everywhere by the end of the week I'd had enough of them. You couldnt sit down and relax due to ants climbing on you, they also get in the wardrobe climbing into hung up clothes. Take some ant powder, but we had the most fantastic time

After all the reviews I read on here I was scared about going to this hotel and was really dreading my holiday but upon arriving I was shocked and pleasantly surprised.

The apartments were really clean and the toilets were sealed upon our arrival. We had maids in 5 times a week if I remember correctly, who worked really hard cleaning and tidying up. Our linen was changed often can't remember how many times and we had clean towels each day the maids were in. Everything worked in our apartment and although we were all inclusive if you was self catering there was plenty of equipment in the apartment to cook your meals.
We was situated in C block and all our windows and doors locked properly and we never heard of any break inns during our 2 week stay.

There are three restaurants at the complex and we tried all three.

The international restaurant was clean and the staff was really pleasant always smiling and saying Ola! There was plenty of choice of food that was always hot and cooked infront of you too. The breakfast ranged from traditional bacon and eggs etc to cereal, yoghurts and fruit.
Never ate there at lunch as we was always snacking round the pool. For the evening meal there was agin lots of choice from lasagne, pizza, roasts, vegetables etc and vegetarian choices as well. There are desserts on everyday and these are also lovely.

The chinese restaurant was nice we ate their for my birthday, there is limited choice there but hey we wasn't at our local in England.

The med restaurant was really nice and you are waited on in this restaurant also.

We liked the hotel location it was close to the town and market and if you didn't fancy a 5 minute walk to the town or beach you could jump on the mini train for 1 euro each although taxis are really cheap out there too.
There was also some shops just outside the complex and pubs there too that sold whole selection of beers and other drinks and they also show the football.

The staff at the hotel were generally nice although sometimes were moody behind the main evening bar and it was only one female then who decided to slam drinks down if she got your order wrong and she made you feel like it was your fault. The rest were nice.

Reception staff were brill always happy to help you.

The entertainment was fantastic we thoroughly enjoyed it and if people in your party are willing to have a go at the daytime or evening tasks you will love it.

The entertainment team Kieran, Fran, Jenny, Hannah, Lauren, Kelly, Toni and Phill worked extremely hard from 10am till midnight and they were all nice and their shows well funny. Bingo was well good especially when you win and the money aint bad and play your cards right is good too someone won over a thousand pound when we was there as it was a rollover. The outside acts were also good the supremes an parrot show etc.

There are three pools on site all were really clean when we was there and you saw them being cleaned of an evening. We stayed mainly by pool c as it was the most lively and had slides. The pool with the bridge is quiet and the 3 kids in our party loved the little pool there.

We also went to the bar that opens at midnight its good the waiter gets your drinks lined up for you and aint that busy really. The kareoke at the Irish bar is good too.

When going to this hotel go with an open mind an you will love it im glad we went an we needn't have worried so much before we went. We are already booking up to go next year we cant wait.

One last thing the weather was fab we had not a single drop of rain so couldn't fault it.

Sorry if this review is so long but I couldn't fit the truth into a short piece I wanted to let you know about everything.

The Bungalow Apartments were very clean and well maintained all week, apart from the loose electrics which could be dangerous.

Only saw one cockroach, which I was glad about and just tiny ants, no bother though. Water sprinklers on the grassed areas smell awful though, due to recycling only partly filtered water, to conserve supplies.

Food was ok, if you got in early and found a table, the International Restaurant got very hot and busy otherwise, obviously catering for a large number on the complex. Mediterranean restaurant, bookable 24 hrs in advance was the best, for peace and quiet and air conditioning and friendly, attentive service. Daily snacks were not varied though, fried food and chips every day, but then mainly kids would eat these.

Pools were great; slides, sprinkler fun areas and a kiddie pool were all well kept and enjoyed. Downside was hardly any parasols around when you needed shade.

Location was good; only 15 mins walk to either the town with beach & harbour or off towards the Sheraton/Atlantico Shops and another nice beach, if you wanted.
Staffs were friendly and always willing to help and answer queries, spoke good English too.

Entertainment as everybody has said, was very full on, and aimed at keeping kids happy, but not much for teens or adults, though.

In all, I wouldn

This was definitely not my type of holiday, however my twelve year old daughter loved it.

It reminded me of Butlins in the sun.

Very busy at all times, especially at the main pool area and main entertainment area. Had to get up at seven to get a sun bed around the pool.
Not enough sunbeds around the pool and a lot of them old and uncomfortable, and not enough chairs around outside of the bars.

Food was very repetitive and ok if you liked pork, this was served nine out of the fourteen days. Rooms were fine and very clean.

Town has very few shops.

Beach was lovely.

Would not personally go again but alot of people liked it and the kids from thirteen under would enjoy it.

Firstly, I'll say I enjoyed my holiday as did my children, my partner and parents didn't as much but that was more to do with the resort than the hotel.

Apartments- we were in c/d 95 and 96, the room was lovely, well stocked with kettle, pans, cups and glasses, also a sandwich toaster and toaster. It was very clean with a lovely closed off back area (it was a sun trap, even jeans dried in 30 mins!) and an open front area with a table and 4 chairs.

The bedroom consisted of 2 single beds pushed together, a tall boy, 2 bedside cabinets and a large double wardrobe with shelves and a safety deposit box. The beds were reasonably comfetable, I asked for extra pillows and they were delivered within an hour.

The living area consisted of a kitchen with sink, full sized fridge a 2-ring hob and a microwave.
We had a TV (

Hotel was located about a mile from the beach - going downhill on the way but up a large hill on the way back!

Complex very spread out. Block C was about 5/10 minutes walk from kids club but close to entertainment area/big pool/water slides etc.

Staff were all friendly/polite/easy to understand

After reading lots of negative reports online, we were a little nervous about our accommodation to say the least. And the fact that we were travelling the week after the major security thing at the airports. In fact we rang 2 days before departure and requested a room in the refurbished part of the complex. Fortunately we were actually allocated a room in block C - room C24. The complex was much larger than we thought and when we arrived at 9pm and found ourselves right next to the main swimming pool/restaurant/entertainment and disco area we couldn't believe our bad luck quite honestly. However, it turned out to be the best location. Instead of having to walk up and down slopes for breakfast, it was next door. If the kids wanted a drink they could safely go to the bar by themselves as we could see them from the outside seating area. The water park area and slides were seconds away. We could reserve a sunbed without having to get up at an unreasonable hour. We got a table most nights without too much of a problem.

The food was a bit dull to be honest but often is at a family resort. Chips chips chips which the kids loved. The Bacardi was evil and tasted like paint stripper! It was true about the lack of glasses but if you put yourself out and took your glass back to the bar each time it wasn't a problem. With the number of kids about, paper cups were actually a good thing. The lack of staff at the bar was a bit of a nightmare though. In block A, they actually turned the drinks round so you could help yourself. At night this would have made sense in the main bar and entertainment area as there was often 1 person working and queue 20 people long.

Bearing in mind this was a families resort it was spot on for the kids. I wouldn't have gone as a couple as I would have preferred something quieter.

The entertainment was perfect for kids. The kids club was fantastic and my 2 year old used a creche for the first time without tears - she was actually on her own with 3 'nannies' for 90 minutes as it was so quiet. My 6 year old had the 'best holiday ever' and met lots of people and used the kids club most days, knew all the mad dances in the evening and is still signing King Caractacus or whatever it was called. The entertainers put their heart and soul into it. Perfect kids holiday in fact. At first the bingo and dances are a bit embarrassing, you can see the new people from the looks on their faces thinking 'why am i here' but you get used to it and do enjoy it. Butlins is quite a good description! The bingo was hilarious with new phrases being introduced every day. 'Sweet sixteen and never been kissed but you've got a pushchair, mobile phone and a couple of tattoos' amused most people. Playing for 80 euros for a line or sometimes 300 for a full house.

Their version of Grease was hilarious. There was only one entertainer or kids club rep who shouldn't have been their as she quite clearly hated her job and Keiran and KitKat were the favourites with all the kids.

The complex is on the flightpath and you can wave to the pilot as the planes are that low. They can fly over every 10 minutes at busy times but this isn't all day at all as some people suggested. You honestly don't even notice them after a few days except the kids who waved each time.... If you have a fussy eater it is the perfect dinner time distraction.....As for being woken up by them every day at 7.30, our eldest who is a light sleeper slept to 9 most mornings so it wasn't that bad at all.

The complex was being cleaned constantly and if it was dirty it was down to the lazy people who just left their plates lying around or threw their cups on the floor. There were quite a few of these families.

The pool was clean and the babies splash pool behind the waterpark was clean. Was a little disappointed the gate from the baby pool to the main pool was broken and didn't shut. Quite a few kids did a runner!

The restaurants were clean and didn't seem too hot. Don't bother with the Oriental restaurant. The food was dreadful.

The only negative thing really about the complex was the disgusting smell when they watered the plants each morning. It was pretty awful.

Saw a few ants but nothing else, no mosquitoes or cockroaches. Was a little hesitant about leaving windows open after reports of break ins but there were 2 fans which were fine. Going in the hottest part of the year wasn't bad at all.

Did speak to another family who stayed in block A who said their room was pretty ropey. Easy to open windows/doors from the outside etc and in need of quite a lot of loving care but these are slowly being refurbished. Ask for Block C!!!

We were fairly apprehensive about staying at the Caleta Dorada firstly because of the reviews and secondly because we had never done an all inclusive package before.

Authough I have to say that I would not visit this resort again this is purely on a personal basis. My kids age 10 and 15 had a fantastic time and loved every minute of it!

The complex is large but quite nicely arranged. We were in C block and had a two bed apartment with "kids den". The apartment was very clean and the staff to be honest worked their socks off to keep it that way. We had a few ants but nothing to worry about. The kids den was not like the picture in the brochure but did have bugs bunny sheets! The rest of the apartment was fine and reasonably well equipped. We were situated next to the road which was a bit noisy but not too much of a problem.

The main pool area was very busy obviously and there were sunbeds reserved at 7.30am despite the reps asking people not to reserve until after 9.00am. The staff did their best to keep the area clean but the mess was largely due to people not bothering to bin their rubbish! There was a nasty smell in some areas from the drainage on the pool deck but once this was mentioned it was sorted out.

The food in the main restaurant was fine, plenty of choice and always hot. We used the oriental once (you have to book for this and the Mediterranean) but were not terribly impressed - just a question of taste I imagine!

The first choice team cannot be faulted - They worked SO hard. My ten year old joined in with mini disco, games and the wavelength pizza & bowling and golf & Italian nights (15 euro's for the evenings).

There was entertainment all the time and it was very popular. The Irish bar was OK, bit hot and non smoking but quieter than the pool bar.

My only criticism is that it would have been nice to have a bar area with no entertainment on the comlex so you could hear yourself think! The adults only bar opened at midnight which we didn't use because of leaving the kids!

All in all this is a family resort and not bad value for money. It wasn't really my cup of tea but the kids loved it and that gave us a bit of time to ourselves to chill out.

Like most people going to this hotel we were a little apprehensive after reading all the bad reviews about it. I was hoping to get a room on the C side and thought we had drawn the short straw when we were allocated on the B side. As it turned out it was the best thing that could happen. We were situated right next to the pool and the irish bar which was so convenient as we could just go back to our room in a instant if we needed anything and the kids could go and get drinks and bring them back to the room.

Out room was very pleasant, spacious and clean. We did not have any cockroaches, only a few odd ants now and again which is just due to the heat. It was cleaned 5 days out of 7 and the linen was changed almost every other day.

I personally would not have liked to have stayed on the C side as we did go over a few times and did find it to be very busy and noisy which I would not have liked for 2 weeks constant. We did meet a few on the C side who came onto the B side just to have a more relaxing time. My eldest son used to go over to the C side as all his friends were around there and this was great for him and his teenage friends. I also found the C side was quite dirty with a lot of dirty plates and cups left around. This was due to people not being bothered to use the many bins situated everywhere. The staff in the complex worked so hard to keep it clean but due to size especially on the C side it was very difficult and they were quite often understaffed.

On the B side you never had to queue up for drinks. In fact all the soft drinks were self service as was the beer pump which was great. They used to show a film every afternoon on the B side which was great for keeping my youngest out the sun for a bit.

We found the food was excellent. Many people seemed to moan about it but we have been all inclusive for the last 4 years and this has to be one of the best we had. Every night they did a cavery such as roast beef and pork and the meat was so tender it melted in your mouth. They had fish, chicken, salmon and home made soup on every night. The did different potatoes, even mash, pasta and different sauces every night. They have plenty of fresh salad. The ice cream was delicious with some lovely unusual flavours such as lemon and coconut.

We found the staff very helpful and the First Choice Entertainment Team worked very hard.

We did go out a lot and took the kids bowling one night at the new shopping cente. It was 5 euros per person. The beach was lovely behind the shopping centre well worth a visit.

We did get the bus to Corralejo. You have to change once but it is dead easy. We really enjoyed it there as it a lot different from Costa Caleta. We also went to Jandia and Lanzorate for the day.

We really enjoyed this holiday not just the hotel but also the island itself. It is a great base for getting about and if you don't like the hotel you are not stuck in it.

It is great if you have kids they will not be bored and ours made loads of friends which helped us to have more of a holiday.

If anyone if thinking of going out after 12 at night there is an underground bar called the Lounge. It is open from 12 until 8 in the morning if you have the energy. We went in once or twice and the music is terrible. (all spanish). We did look through the CD collection in there and there is nothing English so if you fancy a dance in there take in your own CDs. He will let you put them on.
